My family is going to the Sept. 28th game against T-Bay. Also friends of a friend are in a group of seven are at that game as well. We are all coming from Saskatchewan. Obviously, tail gating is something people want to do on a trip like this. I've talked to Cheryl, she has had some very good suggestions about things to do in Pittsburgh. I believe the group of seven is a guys trip and are probably looking a little wilder than my wife and two kids. Anyone have suggestions?

Jacks
Strip district /Fish market
Primanti's
Bettis' Grille
Mount Washington incline
Station Square

will post more as I think of it............

Hit the Incline the night before the game. Both Heinz field & PNC Park are usually li up. Beautiful view from up there, along with the city view at night.

As a frequent visitor... here are places we try and hit up every time...

Breakfast - DeLuca's in the Strip District, Dor-Stop in Dormont, Pamela's in Strip District - All are excellent or should I say EGG-cellent. ;)

Lunch/Sandwiches - Wholey's Fish Market (Amazing fish sammich), Primanti's (Obviously), FatHeads (Hot wings), Quaker Steak and Lube (Wings)

Dinner - Penn Ave Fish Company (Sushi/Seafood), Lidia's (Italian), Church Brew Works (Craft Beer)

Sask,

You could take the whole family to the South Side for dinner. Lotsa great places for eats early on: Mallorca, Pittsburgh Steak Company, Hofbrau Haus (with oompahpah band starting at 8-9pm, then drop the wife and kids into a cab back to the hotel and stay out with yer pals on the south side. Lots of bars and stuff (you'll like Mario's -- Leafs always seem to beat the Pens when I'm there) for lads from Saskagina to find entertaining. Closer to the game, Steelers4Life (Dom) will post about a tailgate. Great stuff, bring beer.

OOOpppss, also though of another thing. I believe they give tours of Hienz field, but not sure if during the season. I stuck my head in there once, told em where I was from (long ways), they set me up with a shortened version, personal tour. This was during the season.
Real kewl

Thanks for all the advice. Much appreciated, and by all means keep it coming. But I'm kinda more specifically wondering about pre-game activities. Are there organized events before the game or just individual tailgaters?

Fatheads! Awesome food and always 42 brews on tap. Best advice I ever got on this board.

Cheryl and I throw a tailgate party before each game. Dom also will have one going on.
