It isn't strictly about tariffs it is also about non-tariff trade restrictions that have the same or similar effect.Dipshiit Ogur:
WTF do mean afraid of free trade?
Trump negotiated the Free Trade deal called USMCA, and signed it, to replace NAFTA, which replaced the Auto-Pact. It was not Canada's idea to include Mexico.
Was Trump 45 wrong then or is Trump 47 wrong now? Or was he correct both times and how the hell does that make sense?
WTF is a reciprocal tariff on a vehicle made in either Ontario or Michigan with literally the same American and Canadian parts?
Can you please point out the "Canadian Tariffs on your goods" that are hurting your sandy vag now? Pick one to illustrate your point, help me understand where the nasty Canadians hurt you.
Great, show those "same or similar effects", please. It isn't strictly about tariffs it is also about non-tariff trade restrictions that have the same or similar effect.
Exactly. Who negotiated USMCA? Lol

Yup.Dumb IzzAss Canuckistani,
That was the best he could get last time with congress full of Rinos and under democrat control. He is renegotiating with control of both houses of congress and the ability to play hardball.
Not really. Partly most American politicians are ignorant of economics, partly they are afraid of criticism from other countries and the media, and partly they get bribed by other countries and multinational corporations. Are you suggesting that that the succession of weak American leaders from LBJ, Reagan, Bush and Trump all got their American ***** whooped by
Canadians and then Mexicans, each time?
It's kinda weird that the strong and mighty US were the ones that cried and needed new agreements each time.......were they bad negotiators, bad at understanding economics or did they just get beat, every time, by the smarter Canadians and Mexicans?
Lol. So LBJ, Reagan, Bush the Elder and Trump 45 all made bad deals on behalf of the US?Not really. Partly most American politicians are ignorant of economics, partly they are afraid of criticism from other countries and the media, and partly they get bribed by other countries and multinational corporations.
As we see the way President Trump is attacked for putting America first.
Luckily Trump DGAF.
Don't forget Clinton. NAFTA looked good on paper but in practice it didn't work out so well for us.Lol. So LBJ, Reagan, Bush the Elder and Trump 45 all made bad deals on behalf of the US?
Which trade deal, ever, signed by the US, was good for the US......or have all your POTUSes lost each and every time?
I just don't not understand the present stance of Trump 47 that the US has always been fuucked, like a cheap *****, and is somehow still the greatest economy the world has ever known.
That just does not square.
Granted. the left will scream against anything Trump, but I believe (hope) that this tariff thing will end up biting them. The talk is all about a recession and I agree, if the tariffs continue, that is a real possibility. But it's a negotiating tool and I read this morning that the USGA (?) is reporting that over 50 countries want to negotiate. If that's true, the pain that the media forecasts for all of us may short lived and a false narrative. Fingers crossed.Don't forget Clinton. NAFTA looked good on paper but in practice it didn't work out so well for us.
Our economy was good enough to withstand a lot of **** but it's been getting worse over the last 20 years so it's time to reverse course and look out for ourselves first.
Historically other countries have had higher tariffs on our stuff than we do on theirs.
Trade barriers between the US and Canada include:Great, show those "same or similar effects", please.
It would be helpful to the understanding of everyone, eh!
All countries have sanitary and phytosanitary restrictions for products, ingredients and living things crossing into their country. This is a sovereign security issue, not a trade barrierTrade barriers between the US and Canada include:
"International Trade Administration+2
- Sanitary and Phytosanitary Barriers: Restrictions on U.S. Seeds Exports
No idea what this means
- Digital Trade Barriers: Data Localization
That is not trade related. Foreign ownership of Canadian telecommunications is limited to 20% by law; this is a sovereignty issue, not trade.
- Services Barriers: Telecommunications
How is the Nippon Steel purchase of US Steel going?
- Investment Barriers
Which? I asked for an example, not an AI generated list of items that mostly are not relevant.
- High tariffs for certain products
Do you mean like defense spending?
- Restrictions on selling to the government of the country
Same as sanitary&phyosanitary rules; these things exist between all countries, except in the EU.
- Import licensing requirements
Please provide an example from the Canadian side that is being actively used; the US just did this for Steel, aluminum and lumber.
- Anti-dumping and countervailing duty measures
Yep. Canada does not allow certain poisonous ingredients in food in Canada. It is shameful that the US allows its own people to be unknowing consumers of carcinogenic ingredients.
- Product bans
Same as sanitary&phytosanitary and import licensing.....this AI list is a generally low quality effort; repetitive, generalized and wrong.
- Any quarantine measures for agricultural products"
This is by far your best point is truly an issue and has truly been an issue my entire life. It is truly fuucking amazing that Canadians, right now, have free trade with the US -- as negotiated by TRUMP in 2018 -- and have greater interprovincial barriers. That being said, that is internally fuucked up and has no bearing on the existing free trade with the US. Just like our having an effeminate soyboy for Prime Minister is embarrassing as heell, but at least he whopped Trump on Trumps own USMCA, eh.Hell, Canada has a serious issue right now with trade barriers between its own provinces. You want to get rid of the tariffs open up actual free trade.
W's dad did NAFTA, bringing the Mexicans into Reagan's US/Canada deal. Slick Willy did some handshakes as it took effect in 94, but he did little else, thankfully.Don't forget Clinton. NAFTA looked good on paper but in practice it didn't work out so well for us.

This is the correct response
I wouldn’t even take China’s call for 6 months. Negotiations with China right now wouldn’t allow them to feel the real pain they will experience. Negotiations now just change things slightly, 6 months from now China will be begging to pay to do business with us again.Israel and Taiwan are on board as well with zero tariffs.
The last on board (China?) may end up the loser.
I think what is getting lost in all this is that Trump wanted to make radical changes the first time around. Where he erred was that he tried to make those changes from within with the “help” of those who opposed him every step of the way. He realized that he was going to have to scale that back if he wanted any chance to be re-elected, and signed the deal knowing it was not what he wanted, but slightly better than previous deals.Lol. So LBJ, Reagan, Bush the Elder and Trump 45 all made bad deals on behalf of the US?

Since the US has been suffering so badly in economic terms, and Canada deserves all these new tariffs because of the previous self ***-raping that TRUMP 45 did with his USMCA from 2018, can you please explain this popular Canadian chart ( it's election time here) wrt your comments?
