Terrell Edmunds

Definitely sign him to a three year, low cap hit but give him some guaranteed money up front.

We have to watch our “D” spending a little, to much invested for what we are getting in return.

Well he signed a one year prove it deal. I think there will be teams wanting to sign him this offseason. Might cost some a few $$$$$ to get him to come back.

Edmunds has definitely improved this year, and I've never seen a defensive back pancake an offensive tackle like he did today. Just an awesome play.

Yep, he is playing his way out of Pittsburgh, so is Bush but for the opposite reason.

I hear has KStilly but hope they can find a “keeper” in there somewhere.

As for Bush, he played a little better and I saw at least one aggressive play that he looked real good. I still think he needs to UP the game and if the resign him I’d hope for a similar to Edmonds deal, 1yr prove it type.

Terrell Edmunds has had a nice season as has Cameron Sutton. Would be a good thing to re-sign both these guys. Also, they will extend Highsmith for sure this off season. I saw that somewhere today, can’t remember where, but makes sense to extend Highsmith.

I think Bush is up to 3 TFLs on the season now, DIC...can you believe it??

I’ve been saying move Edmunds to ILB for the past two years.
Right. Coming out of college at VT that’s what he played. But for whatever reason we tried to make him a true SS. I think he can play SS in a base defense then In Nickel and dime bring out Kazee or Norewood and put Edmunds at ILB. We did something similar with Ziggy Hood. Tried making him a nose tackle and until he left here his career didn’t take off.

It only took 5 years for Tomlin to put Edmunds in the best position for him to take advantage of his talent.
As much as I love to bash Tomlin for his poor player usage, evaluations, loyalties etc

Having Kazee back allows us to move him into that role. In most of Edmunds career he’s been our 2nd best safety and our reserves have been weak at best. Having a competitive, and I think better safety in Kazee, opens up some things for sure

I’m guessing Highsmith bets on himself and tests free agency
He’ll likely get a better deal than Dupree and we ain’t putting ting that much scratch at OLB, I wouldn’t think anyways???

May be a great idea to test his trade value next year, probably better than the 3rd round comp we may get and coming off a 10+ sack year…sell high and let’s rebuild rather than watching assets walk out the door

They offered 3 1sts for Burns, just saying

When you have to walk your safety into the box to stop the run, you need better DL and Line backers. Just saying...
Enter Worm, a done Alualu, and a soft against the run Bush. Those three need to be given a handshake and sent packing.

Bring back Edmunds and Sutton, sign Tremaine Edmunds in free agency and draft a CB and NT and you have a very solid defense for next year.

Not possible with our cap space as is…

Let me clarify… rolling over the rest of this years cap money and setting aside the money needed for a top 15 pick gives us a little over 14 million in space… but we only have 36 players under contract so just to fill out the roster with league minimum players eats almost 13 million of that… i mean we can rework some stuff and free up money we will need just to get through the season but we cant blow our wad on yet another high priced free agent on D… it just can’t happen

Here is the tough part. You either set the market which will be above his value or you risk losing him by letting him test it. I think he is a good player, I'd like to have him back but they have a bunch of junk contracts including Heyward for 20 million on his final few relevant seasons and Jackson's 3 just absolutely flushed away.

I have been down on Edmunds as much as anyone but he has been solid this year. He should’ve never been drafted where he was but that’s a mute point now. We all think first rounders are instant plug and play future HOFers but in reality it’s just not true. As stated by others, the problem now is how much more do we tie up salary cap with defense? I’m afraid even Highsmith has played his way out of here for a payday he deserves. We need some solid drafting over next few years and get back to developing our own talent. It will be interesting to see what Omar’s plan of action is this off-season. And it would help if our owner would get off his hands and demand some accountability around there! The “standard” has fallen on some hard times!
