Who do you feel would be the 3rd best after Noll if not Tomlin.I would definitely say Coach T was the 3rd, maybe 4th best coach we've had, clear back to Chuck Noll.
John Madden didn't have a thesaurus sitting next to him to find a substitute word for every normal spoken word to make himself sound more intelligent either.John Madden says "HI" from the grave and reminds you that he made a fortune and the HOF off of "word salads" on national tv.
Neither did Tomlin.John Madden didn't have a thesaurus sitting next to him to find a substitute word for every normal spoken word to make himself sound more intelligent either.

I’m right with you on that one brother!I hated that guy for years. I couldn't stand him,but that was from his HC days with the Raiders. I thought he was a loudmouth obnoxious turd..lol.
I didn't soften up on him until many years after he switched to TV.

Right before you throw rocks at trainsI use that phrase upon occasion.
Salute the nation
He did have that one time where he "accidentally" wandered into the field of play and impeded the path of a KO returner all of that seemed bush league to me.I made fun of "The Standard" a lot. The Tomlinisms got tired and the not being a legitimate contender for years got old. Not having one under .500 season in 19 years is impressive. He didn't have Cowher's players for all of it either. I hated the clock management, the conservative, play not to lose mentality and lots of gameday **** fans complain about.
He never embarrassed the organization with his antics, he carried himself with class, he also departed by stepping down instead of making the Rooney's do what all of us knew they weren't going to do. He had a good run, now we move on. I'm more concerned about whether the new HC will live in his fears.......................
I'm not getting misty-eyed, either. In fact, the pure joy that I felt when I heard Tomlin was stepping down is only rivaled by the elation of drafting Ben Roethlisberger, as far as the greatest off-field moments of my Steelers fanhood.I’m certainly not going to be a hypocrite now and get all mushy over Mediocre Mike. I’ve criticized him for years now so I’ll speak frankly.
Mike, thank you for stepping down! Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.
