I happened to catch Kristin Powers' "But, but, but.... the children" soliloquy on Ted Baxter the other night regarding the kiddie invasion and why we should welcome them all, even all the kids from every country, blah, blah, blah. So, if your rationale for this insanity is "the children (insert some comment)", and you believe it's THIS country's sole responsibility to "do something" about "it", wouldn't it make more sense to address "the children" where they reside through (yet more) "aid", than to expose them to the vagaries of a thousand mile+ journey through one of the more corrupt, degenerate shitholes on the planet to arrive at yet another unknown IF they survive it? I'm not suggesting more aid, mind you.

For the record, I have never put one of our children on a domestic flight unaccompanied. I can't rationalize how or why any parent would attach their child to such an absurd activity.

Vincent - I agree with you as an American Citzen.

That being said, IF I was a citizen of some of the **** holes we call countries, I would do whatever it took to see that my kids had a CHANCE at a better life. It would kill me to think about sending my young child alone, but when you consider the options, it may be wort it to them.

Any immigration "reform" that does not require and start with actual border security, whether that is a fence or not, is only "reform" in the loosest sense of the word. When you want to reform something, the intention should be to make it better.

Without real border security, you won't have "reformed" anything, you just made it slightly different.

What about the roughly 400,000 Canadians here with expired visas, when they're caught will they be executed? Or will it be only the 75,000 out of that # who are here undocumented?
