When something is taken away...it isn't given back. Little bit at a time...over months, over years...Can't do this, can't do that. A new law here, a new law there...Once it's taken, it's gone. ****...it's only been two months and wearing masks is now normal...not going out to eat is normal...kids getting schooled at home..normal. People jumping 6 feet back when you get too close, scared shitless. And looking at each other as poisonous snakes. Anyone think it's all going back to the way it was two months from now? Three? Four? Next year? Done as we knew it.

With the exception of a few I think many countries followed our lead. Now its time for the people to lead the world out of this quagmire the politicians and bureaucrats have created. If you catch the flippin flu, you catch the flippin flu.
 
Even if this was the case how does holding the county hostage help the dems? Like i said if Trump goes against them and the task force and the virus spikes it would be catastrophic for his reelection. If he follows the guidelines and the economy fully tanks he can easily cast off the blame to dems / task force.

Regardless of when the country is opened back up again, there is going to be a spike in cases. This is a 100% known. The Flogs of the world want to hide under their dining table, clutching their teddy bears, covered by a security blanket, wearing a mask and 10 scarves, with the door bolted shut until there's a side-effect free, 100% organic, pro-biotic, magical elixir cultivated from the blood of billionaires until they will come out from hiding and turn off the respirator. The more logical of us understand that this spike will happen and the best thing we can do is to maintain a lot of personal hygiene, not put our faces into someone's mouth when they're coughing, not inhale someone's sneezes and generally avoid people who are coughing and sneezing. While that may help prevent someone from contracting the Rona, it's not a given that it will absolutely prevent anyone from getting it. In fact, even staying home, someone can get it as proven in NYC.

When the spike happens, the Dims will be on tv screaming that Trump is incompetent, and is way in over his head. They'll screech that they warned a spike would happen and that the country is now "in a critical breaking point." Pelosi will even sign her name with 11 pens on another voluminous Impeachment filing. The Dims will also suggest that the best thing would be to ensure a $2000/month stipend to "all" people during this crisis. Notice "all" is in quotes as it will ensure taxpayer money will be made available to illegal immigrants.

Don't be confused - the Dims do not give a flying **** about you, me or anyone else who votes. They're rolling out measures to ensure they'll win. If they're not so sure they'll win, why are they so steadfastly promoting vote-by-mail? Even in this scenario, all it takes is 1-2 people with Covid who are asymptomatic to touch those ballots prior to them being mailed. Then you have a bulk quantity of ballots infected and ready to be sent to voters. It's also a guarantee that IF the Dims win, they'll re-open the economy slowly "even if it saves just one life."

Unless that life is a fetus. **** that life.

Once people get used to that $2000 stipend from the Dims, it cannot and will not be rolled back. War and Peace will look like Cliff's Notes compared to the size of the bills the Dims will push to ensure this stipend is continued. In those bills will be more and more ways to strip us of our rights, raise taxes and install more regulations. Yeah, that stipend will come in handy when your taxes are increased so much that the $2000 is just refunded directly to the government.

Are you kidding? Any lifting of the economic misery before November helps Trump win and they know it. The biggest fear among Dems is not that there will be a spike in deaths, it's that we open up and there isn't a big spike in deaths. They can only prevent that possibility by terrorizing everyone into staying shut down.

they’re not supposed to. They are supposed to rely in on big government to pay their bills then realize that having their bills paid is better than working and then be content to be cared for like children, then vote Dem to keep the free money flowing

So when the folks that are working see how those that aren't working are living so well and then they themselves decide not to work, where is that money going to come from? There is absolutely no way any of this ends well.

A thousand years ago, I was the director of pharmacy in a Pennsylvania state hospital. I was able to save the hospital money by setting up direct accounts, managing staff, etc. I got called into the superintendents office, thinking I was going to get an atta boy for my efforts. Nope, I was told I had to spend the money budgeted for that year, and propose a higher budget for the next year. Packed up and headed to AZ. I heard they remodeled the break room, barcalounger's included with the unspent money.

Fauci delivered the somber warning Tuesday to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions during a hearing about the road to reopening businesses across the nation. U.S. officials have pointed to the development of a vaccine as a key turning point in the Covid-19 pandemic, even though it will take at least 12 to 18 months.


As experimental vaccines are created, they will also need to be mass produced to be administered to the more than 7.6 billion people around the world. In the meantime, there are no proven treatments for the virus.

The National Institutes of Health, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, has been fast-tracking work with biotech company Moderna to develop a potential vaccine. More than 100 vaccines are in development globally as of April 30, according to the World Health Organization, with at least eight vaccine candidates already in human trials.


Moderna is completing its phase one trial. The company’s potential vaccine contains genetic material called messenger RNA, or mRNA, that was produced in a lab. Last week, Moderna said it would soon begin phase two trials with 600 participants and was finalizing plans for a late-stage trial as early as this summer.




Until a vaccine is ready, Fauci said, the country needs to continue trying to mitigate and contain outbreaks.


Another worry among epidemiologists, Fauci said, is that the vaccine backfires and strengthens the virus.


There have been at least two vaccines in the past that have produced a “suboptimal response,” he said. “And when the person gets exposed, they actually have an enhanced pathogenesis of the disease, which is always worrisome. So we want to make sure that that doesn’t happen. Those are the two major unknowns.”


Still, Fauci said he’s “cautiously optimistic that we will have a candidate that will have some degree of efficacy, hopefully a percentage enough that will induce the kind of herd immunity that would give protection to the population at home.”

Yep, once a certain segment of the population gets used to that monthly hand out there will not be any incentive to going back to work, so they'll just get fat staying at home, and the Dems garner more votes. Tell me I'm wrong.

Not wrong. A bit on the bigoted side, perhaps- just depends on one's perspective. Just how terrible is it that these minimum-wage, paycheck-to-paycheck working poor- "Those People"- get some sort of bonus in their lives? Unless I'm wrong the $600.00 bonuses are temporary stimulus payments. Think of how you feel in your home; perhaps you have an income or savings but just no where to spend it right now and you think that sucks so bad you have to go out into the streets and protest. Imagine living your whole life that way.

As this is my first post I'm anxious for this pitchfork-wielding mob to chime in with their best guesses as to all my former logins. lol I'll be around.

So Trump can do this if he wants, but it can backfire. He can say screw everyone and order things to open up. If it works he will come out looking like a genius. It could also severely backfire depending on how bad the spike is. Then he will be all alone and it will be close to political suicide.

This isn't going away regardless of what we do. Get back on the horse and ride. Dr.Doom on tv the end all of all things said so. As soon as we open up international travel no matter how low it gets here,it will spike back up. All this bullshit we're doing now is all for nothing.

I just received an email notification from my county election office that my mail in ballot for our PA Primary has been received and duly recorded. They went on to supply a link where I could apply for more ballots as I mentioned I may be taking in some homeless U.S. citizens/voters during the COVID-19 event. I think you're right- There will be something like 500 million votes cast in the next general election.
