But the idea that a country as large and wealthy as the US, with a well-established Constitution, seperation of powers, wide-ranging States' rights, a deeply-entrenched stock market, private ownership, etc would ever become a communist state, or anything close to it, is simply irrational and should be categorically rejected by anyone with a sound mind.

But I get it, there needs to be a boogeyman, there need to be scare-tactics and fearmongering, thus we have the Democrats = communists angle.

Like most everyone else here, I've been a Steelers fan all my life. It is a passion I’ll have till the day I die. There’s no doubt we would all treat each other with much more respect if we were doing this over beers somewhere.

I guess not everyone gets it, that the world is a complex place. There are, and always will be people with differing views and opinions. Online discussions like this are going to be tumultuous especially where there’s hardened, deep-rooted disagreement. And yeah, sometimes sparks will fly.

My consistently negative views on Trump aren't neccessarily rational. I get that. I’ve held these views for many years and my opinion of the man continues to deteriorate each passing day. It is what it is. That’s my sin, my scarlet letter that I bring to this board every time I post. I happen to think the Trump hardcore base has inverse TDS, unable to accept any criticism or have an even slightly normal conversation. Thin skin? Trump supporters seem to have it, much like Trump himself.

I do see most of the interaction here to be a good thing, the fact varying and opposing views are discussed. The clashing of ideas - political debate and discourse - is a fundamental part of life and what makes America great. It seems at least a few others feel the same way, let’s hope that continues.

As far as the name-calling and mudslinging, a sign of the times, I guess. It's odd so many have their panties in a bunch for the simple fact I even dare discuss politics on this board. The attacks on my cultural heritage, the fact I'm an expat living thousands of miles away. I'm an American and care about the country and what is happening there. It's not a costume I can take off. I read, watch and follow American politics 1,000x what I do over here. Even with the insults flying, I’d still have a beer with any one of you. I have no hard feelings towards anyone, even the ****-slinging monkeys who come crawling off the vines to scratch their nails on the chalkboard, with very little to add to the discussions.

To end on a high note, I’ll leave you with yet another hilarious Sarah Cooper vid. This from Trump speaking to reporters earlier today. The way Trump talks is simply off the rails. I don’t care who you are, or what your politics are, the man speaks like he’s going nuts. Don't blame me for that.

I wouldn't call myself a troll, but do admit some of my posts may be considered trollish, ie 'eliciting emotional responses,' as this type of back-and-forth banter tends to do. And some of your posts aren't meant to do exactly the same thing to him? Without Tibs around all we have is 21 and Trog who are relentlessly boring. Tibs is at least entertaining. He has lucid moments of rationality from time to time.
He is a great on the football side. Yes he trolls some of you guys from time to time but that doesn't mean he is a troll it means some of you guys have too thin a skin. If all he did on this site was yank your chains on this forum I would agree but he is seems politics aside to be a decent guy who cares about the Steelers as much as we do. Maybe we all need to keep the arguing here a little less personal and a little more issue focused.
