The Coronavirus thread

Yeah, I got that, but lucky me, I also get to lose tens of thousands of dollars.

Oh, and guess ******* what? I am taxed on my 2019 earnings, and the IRS expects to get paid in full though my 2020 earnings are a fraction of my 2019 earnings.

.

Me too. My personal income is way down YTD vs. last year. When the automakers shut down for three months and steel production plummeted, so did my sales commissions. The lockdown was completely unnecessary. So are masks. The symptoms of this hoax virus are not even as bad as the normal flu. And the "mitigation helped slow the spread" argument is pure bullshit. Essential workers like grocery store clerks, doctors, nurses and truck drivers who go all over the country...they don't have any higher rates than anyone else. I haven't done anything differently this whole time except wear a sf mask where required to get to a restaurant table. And what about all the homeless who didn't quarantine? They're not stacking dead bums all over cities. They need to open everything back up. Now.

Yeah, no. More like 50 years.

Yeah, I included the precursors ie radiology etc, that came well before that.

Using your 50-year model, perhaps we'll have disinfectant therapy based on Trump's spur of the moment brain-storming sometime around 2070....

maybe then you should place the blame for that slow start at the feet of one Barak Obama for not having the vision to see that we would need medical science to save us from breathing.

Once again, he didn't say please go out and start doing it. He said (directing his comments to to Dr. Birx) that it would be interesting to check into it. But you're just being deliberately obtuse about that fact over and over so it's pointless to continue this conversation.

No doubt. The fact is we may never have an effective vaccine against the virus. Perhaps we should weigh the costs of throwing millions out of work, shutting down entire industries (restaurants, cruise ships, theme parks) forever, crushing the middle class, and deliberately interfering with the education of millions of kids vs. rational prevention measures, particularly for the susceptible, while allowing us to return to living?

You do realize chemotherapy took literally centuries to develop?

apparently it would not have been developed at all if Dems were in control. They would have deemed it crazy. Funny that Dems proclaim themselves the party of science but they sure love to ignore it. I mean real fact based science. They hate facts. They prefer model based theoretical science that forces people to behave according to their agenda.

A computer generated graph that says the Earth is dying unless we adopt socialism? Accepted and you better not argue. Fact based results that refute the model. **** YOU!! You flat Earther, you're on the wrong side of history. You are a science denier.

You mean like the 50 year model of HCQ being safe? But that is science to be ignored

You do realize that chemotherapy has only been around since the 1940's and was only developed because of the research into chemical weapons of WWI? You also realize nobody was "developing" chemotherapy for centuries right?

You do realize chemotherapy took literally centuries to develop?

How did chemotherapy* take centuries to develop? I'm curious.

*che·mo·ther·a·py
noun
The treatment of disease by the use of chemical substances.

Because the use of naturally occurring proteins, enzymes etc. from plants and animals don't count.

My state's secretary of health is a man who thinks he's a woman.

Trump never said to drink bleach, but the media and Pelosi repeated claimed that he said to drink bleach and that is the story that got most of the attention. So why is there no blame on the media and Pelosi falsely claiming, as you acknowledged, that the President advocated drinking bleach?

If the media and Dem operatives cared about people, wouldn't they make a point to clarify that the Prez did not say to drink bleach? It seems they wanted people to drink bleach.

It's their hatred of Trump and twisting what he said as facts, along with the late night TV socialists that spread the misinformation.........but crickets.

Question for the leftists.

Both Fauci and Birx have said that there is no problem voting in person. So why the need for mail in ballots? Why are you ignoring the science?

I see no difference between standing in line at the grocery store and standing in line to vote.

I see no difference between standing in line at the grocery store and standing in line to vote.

Nope-except one is politically motivated.

(Tried to come up with a joke and drew an absolute blank...lol).

I have asked three times for Flog, et al. to explain why the United States has so many goddamned cases compared to every other nation on earth. No valid explanation. The "earlier lockdown" claim is bullshit. I disproved it. The "mask mandate" is bullshit.

I offered an explanation that nobody has countered: The United States is testing MUCH more frequently than the rest of the planet, which has gone back to business.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1028731/covid19-tests-select-countries-worldwide/

As of August 24, 2020, the United States has conducted more than 76 million tests. The UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Finland, Sweden and France a combined 47 million tests.

Population:
United States: 330 million (plus unknown number of illegals)
European countries listed above: 344 million

Huh. Look at that. Turns out that the US is just ******* testing more. A LOT MORE. How about mortality rate per 100,000 since Trump is out killing people with bleach and professional infected doorknob lickers.

United States, 55 deaths per 100,000 population (or an overall mortality rate of 0.5%). UK? 62.4. Spain? 61.8. Italy? 58.7. Sweden? 57. France? 45.6. Netherlands? 36.1.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_death_rates_by_country

Huh. Sweden, no lockdown, LOWER death rate than UK, Spain, Italy and basically equal to the United States with its dozens of lockdowns.

******* Trump must have sent his COVID murder agents to the UK, Spain and Italy. Nothing else makes sense.

So leftist TDS sufferers, any response, other than

Sure, the US and Sweden are comparable to countries that have a much higher population density. Compare them against Sweden’s neighbors Norway 6 and Finland 5. 1/10th of the deaths. Compare them too South Korea .6, 1/100th the death rate.

The US and Sweden **** the bed on Covid. It is what it is.

The state of California is more highly populated than the entire country of Canada, with highly congested areas of LA and San Francisco whereas Canada is spread over 4x California's actual size; and yet their total Covid-19 deaths are only separated by 2,000+.

So did Canada **** the bed? And you take away NY/NJ and the U.S. is not even close to the top in death per capita.

My son just found out he tested positive for COVID. No real symptoms, said he feels fine, can't really smell anything. Told him to self isolate for 10 days.

Because Canada has social medical care --- costs are covered for most serious things, especially those leading to death --- it is less likely that Covid deaths are grossly overstated.

In the US, Covid deaths attract government funding to the hospitals and health care system, which is probably why drowning=Covid. Why wouldn't you expect massive over-reporting when funding is directly related??
