Well my wife tested positive for Covid two days ago. We are all in quarantine for the next two weeks. Her main gripes are body aches, especially in the legs, a headache off and on, and she lost her sense of smell and taste last night. Her temp never got above 99 degrees.

Best wishes, Supersteeler. Sister-in-law had the Chinese flu and same symptoms - headache, loss of smell and taste for a while. Nothing else. Recovered in about 5 days.

Smaller than “gaps”, right?

Very. Smaller than the openings in the main filtration area of most masks actually.

My original point was not which masks are effective and which ones aren't, but that the face coverings that almost everyone wears in order to obey government mandates to get into stores or wherever do no good at all.

Burgundy wearing his Steelers mask, homemade by a friend of Mrs. Burgundy with her sewing machine. This will get me into almost any place that a mask is required and is completely useless.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Supersteeler.

Tired of hearing cdc turds talk about wearing masks. Everyone is wearing ******* masks all over. Masks don't do dick. Release your vaccine and stop playing politics.

No we're not shutting the country down for 4-6 weeks. The Biden brain trust is spewing that nonsense. You're going to get genuine uncivil rest by E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E if you go pulling that **** again

Yeah, rioting is the answer, Tim. Just throw a brick through your own window and set your own car on fire, OK?

Typical liberal equating rising and resisting with rioting and looting. That is very obvious form the last 4 years. Resisting doesn't have to be violent at all unless your side wants to go there.

Was it, or was it not, in response to an article about rioting?

Just received a message from our executive leadership team that teleworking for our US offices is now extended until June 1st. They have an item in the message talking about a pilot program they are working on to allow certain people in the office intermittently to work, but won't have the details on that until end of December. Eh, not too sure about going in here and there if I have to wear a mask all day and really wouldn't accomplish more than I do here at home. Most things I would have to do onsite hinges on there being a lot of people there, and that isn't happening anytime soon. It will be a hard transition once we go back to working on campus and I have to deal with the ****** commute again.

I'm really hoping we never return to the office, but that may be too much to ask. For my job, an office is completely unnecessary. All I really need is a reliable, fairly speedy internet connection. We could eliminate a lot of office space and save tons of tax revenue. It will be interesting to see how this plays out going forward.

That's a little odd, the hypocrisy? I seem to recall you being ok with rioting all...damned...year...long. In fact, one of its staunchest supporters.

I believe Mississippi has already said they refuse another lockdown. South Dakota and their hot *** Governor have said the same:
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem Wouldn’t Enforce a Biden National Lockdown

Rise Up and Resist

So you're saying all of these measure we've been taking to try to control a virus aren't working?? What the??

And they tell us tax dollars will stop global warming

Study: Temperature checks, screening questions ineffective in preventing virus spread

We may as well kick off Friday the 13th with some less than stellar news. Another of the countermeasures being mandated by governments around the nation to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus may not be doing much to “flatten the curve” after all. Many places, including New York City and Chicago, have declared that stores, restaurants and bars must “screen” customers by taking their temperature and asking them some questions about their recent contacts and travels before allowing them entrance.

A new study just published in the New England Journal of Medicine strongly suggests that this method of screening is virtually ineffective in far too many cases. They tracked the testing of almost 2,000 Marine Corps recruits who were entering basic training. All were given temperature checks and grilled about whether or not they may have come in contact with any infected individuals. All but a handful of the recruits who went on to test positive after a nasal swab were unaware of having been exposed and had normal body temperatures. In other words, nearly all of them were asymptomatic carriers who appeared otherwise quite healthy and the screening methods being used only identified a small percentage of them. (CBS New York)

The discouraging news comes from a just-published study in the New England Journal of Medicine. Researchers from the Navy and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai tested, followed and quarantined under close supervision nearly 2,000 new Marine Corps recruits before and at the start of basic training.

Few infected recruits had symptoms before a nasal swab test diagnosed them with coronavirus, despite daily temperature and symptom screening.

“This suggests that relying on symptom screening and temperature checks alone, it’s not very effective in finding infected individuals. All of the infected individuals were found by scheduled tests that were done independent of the presence of symptoms or elevated temperature,” said Dr. Stuart Sealfon of the Icahn School of Medicine.

These results appear to demonstrate that one of the “blessings” of the novel coronavirus is actually something of a curse. We’ve seen repeatedly that the mortality rate for COVID-19 is very low, perhaps less than one percent. And it appears to be dropping. And among the other 99% of those who become infected, many are virtually unaffected by the virus, with some shaking it off without even being aware that they had it.

But that appears to be the “curse” portion of the situation. People who experience zero symptoms don’t know that they have it so they don’t report anything when questioned. And if the person who exposed them was similarly asymptomatic, they wouldn’t know if they’d come in contact with anyone who was ill. When you add to that the likelihood that asymptomatic patients probably aren’t running a temperature, this entire screening method sort of goes out the window, doesn’t it?

So Colorado is about to go on lockdown again, starting Monday. We are leaving there today. We went to a diner for breakfast yesterday and our waitress was saying she’s not sure how she’s gonna make it when the lockdown hits. We left he a pretty big tip because we felt bad her livelihood was getting stolen from her- AGAIN.

Just saw that KS has shut down all churches again and gone to virtual. I’m not a religious person, but if we ever needed church and prayer, it’s now.

Nonsense. I’ve never supported rioting of any kind. You’re the only one to propose something so ******* idiotic.
