The Coronavirus thread

He's a quack, the CDC and the WHO have said masks work

/Floggy and Tiblio

This is simple common ******* sense. I have been sharing this data and detail throughout these threads for a year, discussing the micron sizes of Covid and masks and making the mosquito and a chain link fence analogy. It's simple common sense. They physically are not able to stop the spread of aerosols. They stop like 2% of our aerosols. COMMON SENSE. They can't work.

Given studies have shown COVID can travel and linger in the air up to 60 feet, given aerosols pass 100% out the sides and tops of masks and 98% THROUGH the masks....given this simple knowledge...who would still continue to say that wearing a mask is an effective prevention for COVID?

I mean we know who are saying this. Why?
You know that one chick you kept seeing and was like damn she is hot. Then the mask mandate lifts and your like ****!!! Put that **** back on.

You weren't the only one. We've been sharing these mask videos for I don't know how long, showing how micron-sized particles/aerosols escape (and enter) like nothing.

It's such political theater and fear mongering, it's downright criminal. N95 masks will actually protect a good majority, but are they selling those by the large container? They're also difficult to breathe through and do just routine things in because they WORK for what they're intended to do. I know (as I'm sure many have here), I've used them plenty of times doing fabrication and other work that involves protecting yourself from that ****. Feels like we're banging our heads against a wall at this point with this nonsense.

And Fraudci was caught saying those "cloth masks you find at your local drug store" are basically worthless. Don't ever forget that. Now he says the science is evolving. Micron sized viruses have not changed, nor have the masks that don't protect against them have. And then reusing them and not disposing of them properly, ugh. Wake up already people.

I've said from day 1 the masks didn't work. I told my administration they didn't work. But the worst part about it is they are worse than ineffective in a school. Students play with them, drop them and use them over and over again. They are nothing more than germ dispensers at this point. They put their hands all over them. They aren't sanitary and they don't protect students or teachers.

Here's 47 studies showing they don't work.

That can change and should change. They don't produce a damn thing we can't produce ourselves. It's just a matter of cost.

I'd rather pay more than give that country a dime.
Its not even that big a savings really… when the wal mart debate was going strong the difference in costs per product was often a few cents on small items and at worse a couple bucks… its not like prices would double or even raise 25% … much of it was quantity driven… a billion items at 25cents savings is a lot of money… but all of that work could still be done cheap in Mexico or a dozen other places that aren’t straight sweatshops…. And safer cause most countries at least pretend to care about not using toxic and potentially radioactive materials….

I still think I had covid before it was officially here… after a flight through dallas in early December where i sat by a very sick person, I got a very bad illness… two others from my work also got immediately ill and it circulated through almost everyone in the office

it also was caught by the people in my neighborhood that i hang out with… couldn’t taste or smell for several weeks … the thing is not one person who had that cold has tested positive for this virus once since then.. the bartender i hang with was the only person in her bar not to get it despite dozens of close contacts including one where sje let the wife of a friend who came down with it move in with her after both of them tested negative while the husband recovered from it, then the wife got sick and tested positive along with my roommate… all of us were in very close contact that week… niether she nor i ever tested positive and my company sent me for testing a dozen times or more during this mess…

Save for a quarantine and one week early on when everyone cancelled jobs trying to figure things out, i never locked down.. i traveled almost nonstop through all of this into areas where the business had signs saying you weren’t welcome if you wore a mask and through greasy truckstops all over the country

i have no idea how I did not get it… i was taking vitamin C and zinc the whole time, but it’s probably limited immunity from whatever i had the first time…

i just think it’s weird that the people who got it were all the people that didn’t get that illness two December’s ago… it could just be coincidence…..

We all had it in my house hold before it became a thing. That's why I pretty much ignore it all now.

The only virus that gets me yearly is the common cold. The rest of them like flu and it's many variants, I can pretty much snort it and get nothing.

The mask thing everyone is a little wrong about

it absolutely reduces viral load from spittle and large respiratory droplets
Basic masks may or may not defend against some aerosols… the CDC says this virus isn’t an aerosol… measles is an aerosol but its smaller than the coronavirus… this is right above the edge on what they consider an aerosol so really nobody knows

there are some fallacies when discussing mask effectiveness… first off the surgical masks are traditionally 60-40% effective in protecting against even basic viruses.. they are literally designed just to catch spittle… they aren’t respiratory protection per se

secondly homemade ones vary greatly in protection because of material, thickness, fit ect…. Bandanas only catch the largest spittle …

these masks “work” in as much as any reduction in viral load drops contagion percentages… viruses die and lose the ability to replicate when exposed to the environment over time, but the more viral load on an object thebetter the chance that some of the viruses may survive and remain active on it… plus the more there are the better the chance some contacts another person and gains entry into their system…

the professional respiratory masks may stop aerosols… the thing is they are all tested against an average sized molecule for osha purposes, but some have shown they protect against objects 10 to 20 times smaller than the 300 micron standard… 3m had some interesting science out there a while back on it

the reality is mask effectiveness or noneffectiveness is really speculative because when trying to test against real time viruses, they haven’t had a good way to determine if the virus can make it through and be viable…

typically they just run a gas molecule of a certain size through the mask and use a detector on the other side to see if it fits the 95,99 or 100% standards for respiratory protection… its really not the same

masks also don’t protect the eyes… the third largest infection site for viruses… well except full faces… and nobody is wearing those out lol

the bottom line is the masks provided a small amount of protection, but in a closed environment with no air circulating and hundreds of people, it’s probably a very low amount of protection…

to say there isn’t any benefit is absurd…. To act like wearing a mask when next to someone for hours is helping much is equally absurd…

to demand masks outside in open space is just propaganda driven dumbfuckery

I hope 3m knows what they are doing. I own stock in that company

plus, they **** up the simple human task of breathing.

Wait until all the fibers and microfibers from **** masks sit in the lungs of young kids for years.....this will not end well.

Question.... Anyone changing their stance on covid-19 anytime soon?

Never had one. I’m just listening to the eggheads that I use to copy off of in school.

When Gilligan disagrees with The Professor, I sure as hell don’t agree with Gilligan.

Biden? That you?

What you don't seem to understand, because of the stupidity thing, is that you are Gilligan.

Whatever, Maryann. Go back 15 months and read your own posts and see who didn’t know what they were talking about.

Good on you, @steel dino. Perhaps there is hope for humanity after all. (y)
There is always hope Tibs...no matter what or how dire the situation..

I still believe that the United States overall reaction to the China virus was overblown and needlessly destroyed many fine upstanding and proud Americans lives with the extended shutdowns. Also, the closing of schools and places of worship was a travesty beyond repair!

My decison was basically a personal choice after many months of thoughtful deliberation and consultations....

Here's another example of how the overblown government reaction to the virus is ruining this country....

Just came back from a local gas station/convenience store I frequent...

While in line I overheard a conversation that troubled me...
It went something like this:

Man---I think as soon as summers over their going to shutdown everything again..

Woman - That is fine with me...Covid has been good to me with the stimulus checks and all...
