The Coronavirus thread

It's so obvious that the board libtards are rooting for this to be a disaster. They can't contain themselves. TDS is a hell of a thing.

**** off. What an ignorant statement.

My wife is at risk as she is a NICU nursing supervisor at a hospital that has already had multiple cases, my brother is at risk as he is an asthmatic and has had pneumonia several times and often travels for work.

Ironic that you would refer to people containing themselves.

Interesting, isn't it? How a little health scare can pretty much unravel the entire world?

One wonders how we'd do with a REAL pandemic. Something like ye olde Bubonic Plague. (That was ultimately largely contained and overcome through BEER, by the way. Thus, drink more beer!)

Coming soon we will be hearing about how this was the fault of capitalism and how it was the government taking control that fixed everything so that proves socialism is best. Because dumb people who like socialism don’t actually know what it means. They declare any kind of government spending or program to be socialist. You hear these dumb people declaring that if you support welfare or social security then you’re a socialist.

So you will have the AOCs of the world declaring this a total victory for socialism and that if we were completely socialist, the economy would not have faltered one bit.

I’m also waiting for the criticism that Trump overreacted. When you start hearing that criticism, that’s when you know this situation is under control.

Dems have openly wished for a recession. They will get one but the problem with this recession is nobody in their right mind will blame this on Trump. Then the next election becomes about asking which candidate do you think is best suited to fix the economy. Even Dems grudgingly give Trump good economic grades.

You know I'm right. You and the Tibtard can't even hide it.

You’re ******* nuts is what you are. You might want to see what Trump’s Surgeon General has been up to today. He must have TDS as well.

Not to sound crass JonBoy but do ya think the results might have been the same if he caught a case of the flu ? Even a common cold at that age, with certain conditions like COPD, can lead to serious issues.

Possibly. He has COPD. For sure this is more easily transmissible and worse than regular flu if you do get it.

Yeah they were all so caviller through obama’s Ebola scare... you know tge virus able to be spread the same ******* way this one is even down to using the same cell receptors... the one with a 40-90% death rate even among healthy individuals... that was Meh to them... an easily transmitted pneumonia... we must panic... regular pneumonia meh...

The logic is stupid

I mean i support some of this... much of it will be seen as a huge overreaction, because lets face it... nobody on the left will give trump an iota of credit for the things he did well, but they will harp on the fuckups regardless of the end result

Lets rewind... Obama doesn’t travel ban, doesn’t quarantine... in fact they support a lawsuit to defeat a state quarantine in New Jersey, tests the exact same way trump does under the same bureaucracy... hell at this point now we are ahead of the H1N1 testing pace right? Thats all cool... Trumps administration continues to **** up testing, but they take the lead on providing the very likely cure despite red tape... which do you think is going to be the post crisis talking point?

Yeah the biggest difference between tge flu and this is coronaviruses are so rare to human infections that there aren’t as many immunized against this strain, meaning more carriers, and ill people with some immunity against flu haven’t got it vs this... the first pass of this will be the worse...

The morbidly good news is that in two years flu deaths worldwide will hit an all time low because this is going to pick off all the low hanging fruit

Democrats are vermin, playing politics with this bill while Americans die. Jesus I sound like a Liberal now.

Some of you need to tone it down a bit on Trog and Tibs, Yes Trog is usually an idiot and Tibs has full blown TDS, both have been much more reasonable of late, early on there was a lot more politics being thrown about than there is now. They have been participating in a much more logical manner than usual let's encourage that, we don't all have to agree but maybe we can disagree a little less personally and nasty at least until this is over. Then the beatings can resume.

Just my kumbaya 2 cents.

Trog has even agreed with several of my posts and I have LIKED several of his. The apocalypse is nigh.

I'm just here eating my ******* buttered popcorn watching all of the un-necessary panic and chuckling my *** off. I can't even go on the Book Face anymore, too many asshats saying too many stupid things. I mean, you ************* want to know what bad is, you should have been in Bosnia in 1994. Toilet paper was the least of their worries. Hand Sanitizer? laughable. Read the link below and hopefully you gain a better understanding of how bad the situation can get if you allow panic to set in. Hopefully you can learn from the story and be better prepared when the SHTF for real.

Same here. When your response seems practical and not inciting what a troll likes to incite, you get a response in kind from me. When you post sarcastic **** like talking about rainbows and butterflies like an ******* (when we're all trying to be adults in a time of crisis and uncertainty), well you get a similar type of response. Pretty simple stuff IMO.

Well, I can't afford to chuckle my *** off. See I'm beholden to something bigger than myself that's been shut down and I don't know for how long, so there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding that. Whether it's the virus itself or the mass panic it's causing around the world, it's become real and it's causing a lot of real issues. I'm not going to even go into the why or the who or any of that conspiracy stuff. All I can do is live with the reality I've just been dealt like so many others.

Sounds like somebody isn't playing very nice:

You go Susan Collins.

Schumer is a ******* cancer in Congress. He makes me miss his predecessor and that is saying something.

To me the whole stimulus thing is a bit premature. The bill currently should only contain relief for those unemployed by this and those industries willing to
retool to produce the medical supplies needed by medical facilities and personnel to fight the disease.

When this plays out then another stimulus might be needed to jump start the economy. We won't know what that stimulus should contain, until we know what the damage to the economy eventually will be.

To expand on your post Tim:

I'm still working at the office. It feels like I'm heading in to a zombie apocalypse zone or something. Downtown is a ghost town.

If the Dims didn't know their ship already sunk, this is most certainly going to do it:

Did you see that drone footage of downtown Pittsburgh and the bridges? Eerie.
