The Coronavirus thread

They had more important things to focus on, like the Russia investigations and Impeachment. I'm telling you this was all politics from the start. Look at the players involved, look at the objective. Trump did what he had to do based on the numbers given so I can't blame him for that, but I think folks are waking up to what the hell has been going on, a really nasty virus that affects mostly folks with underlying conditions and an opportunity to take advantage of a crisis. What really played their hand in my eyes was when they tried to get all their agenda items into the stimulus bill and the fact they did not take a real vote in it in the House. Watch that they try to do it again before this is all over.

So lets get this thing back up and running again. If you get sick, you should have plenty of chicken soup in the pantry by now.

Yeah I don't even remember the 2017-2018 flu season and the numbers dwarf our current situation.

Just saw the expected roster for the Opening the Country task force. After his awesome public/private coordination on the response, I assumed this thing would be similar, but it looks like some cloistered insider thing. Disappointing if true. Will wait to see the official announcement.

I repeated the mantra but also don't most viruses usually affect (kill) those who have underlying conditions? That's why they are always after older folks and those with comprised immune systems to not forget their flu shot. How is this any different?

When you think about it, a virus is really nothing more than a predator out in the wild. They are taking the weakest out of the herd. In turn that makes the herd stronger over time. Those with genes that can run and think faster on their feet, usually pass those genes down to the next generation. (For the most part we are just passing down the idiot gene and not allowing it to disappear) If everyone just goes into hiding, it throws that immunity out the window. My dad was a doctor who specialized in Internal Medicine. So he was around sick people all the time. The funny thing is, I do not recall the guy ever getting sick and missing a day of work. I think he must have had simply built up a very strong immune system over the years as he grew up. His dad was a coal town doc so he spent a lot of time around sick people. He probably also washed his hands a lot and didn't touch his face. :)

Unfortunately Alzheimers got him. There's not a vaccine for that one either unfortunately. I'm not waiting for one to come out either.

My niece is a nurse and was planning to go help out in NYC but that traveling nurse thing is shut down, and in fact nurses are getting laid off from hospitals and medical offices because all the normal traffic dried up. Now she's looking for a job - remember the nursing shortage? Rural hospitals are having a difficult time staying open. Our food supply chain is taking massive damage. Our manufacturing infrastructure has been shut down except for medical related services. Now our medical infrastructure is taking damage. If this was a phase one of some kind of attack, it would be devastating. I'm sure that is not the case, but we are very vulnerable right now.

So, there are 2 million cases of Covid 19 worldwide, out of 7 billion people. That doesn't seem very impressive to me.

It isn't,,,,to rational people.

On May 1, Trump needs to have Elizabeth Banks dress up in costume as Effie and tell the Country that it's time to go back to work and...

Observations of an Anonymous UPS Driver: “Customers I’ve Seen Since the ‘Rona”

From an anonymous UPS delivery driver…

5 types of customers since the “rona”:

1) Steve: He has been waiting for this moment his whole life. He has been drinking boilermakers since 10:00 am in his recliner and his AR is within arms reach. He has 6 months provisions in the basement and a bug out bag due west buried in the woods. Steve demands a handshake as I give him his package. He’s sizing me up as I deliver his ammo. Steve will survive this, and he will kill you if he needs to.

2) Brad: He is standing at his window wearing skinny jeans and a Patagonia t-shirt. He is mad because there were no organic tomatoes at Whole Foods today. He points at the ground where he has taped a 6 ft no go zone line from his porch. I leave his case of Fuji water, organic granola bites, and his new “Bernie Bro” hat at the tape. Brad will not survive. Steve will probably eat him.

3) Nancy: She has sprayed everything with Thieves oil. Bought all the Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, meat, and bread from the local grocery chain. She has quarantined her kids and sprays them with a mixture of thieves, lavender, & mint essential oils daily. She has posted every link known to man about “The Rona” on her social media. She will spray you if you break the 6 ft rule. I will leave her yet another case of toilet paper. She will last longer than Brad, but not Steve.

4) Karen: She has called everybody and read them the latest news on “The Rona”. She asked for the manager at Food Lion, Walmart, Publix, McDonald’s, Chi-Fil-A, and Vons all before noon demanding more toilet paper. Karen’s kids are currently faking “The Rona” to avoid her. I’m delivering “Hello Kitchen” to her. Karen will not survive longer than Brad.

5) Mary: Is sitting in the swing watching her kids have a water balloon fight in the front yard as she is on her fourth glass of wine. She went to the store and bought 2 cases of pop tarts, 6 boxes of cereal, 8 bags of pizza rolls, And a 6 roll pack of toilet paper. There is a playlist of Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, and Post Malone playing in the background. I’m bringing her second shipment of 15 bottles of wine in 3 days. Mary will survive and marry Steve. Together they will repopulate the earth.

If Brad lived in Michigan, he would be unable to get seeds and mulch to grow his own organic tomatoes thanks to the imbecile governor.

No surprise, a (D)im. Freaking idiot ... power-hungry skank. The vicious ***** was the one who reminded the teacher she forgot to give the homework assignment, and told kids to stop running in the hallways when she was 12.

People need to be willing to go out and violate her orders, take it to the court system, and let the governors and mayors find out how little power they actually have in this Country based off of the Constitution. Most people give up their civil liberties afforded them in the constitution because they don't know or understand what the constitution says. The government will always overstep its limits so long as citizens are willing to sit by and let it happen.

Parolee released early due to COVID-19 breaks into house, threatens woman with knife, police say

AMERICAN FORK — A man recently released from a halfway house early because of concerns over the spread of COVID-19 has been charged with breaking into a random home, tying up a woman at knifepoint and threatening to kill her.

The terrifying incident happened March 19 in American Fork.

Joshua J. Haskell, 42, of American Fork, “forcibly entered a home ... (and) using a large, serrated knife, he threatened the homeowner and tied her up with shoelaces,” according to charging documents.

The woman told police that she was sleeping when she woke up to the sound of creaking stairs and discovered a man she had never seen before standing in her room holding a knife “raised toward his head with the knife pointing down,” according to a police affidavit.

“The victim began screaming and yelling, at which point the male told her to be quiet or he was going to cut her head off,” the affidavit states.

Haskell tied up the woman’s wrists and ankles with shoelaces. He told her he was taking her bank cards, cash, her car and her PIN numbers, and that if she gave him the wrong numbers he would return and kill her, according to police.

The woman’s son heard his mother’s screams and called 911. When officers arrived at the house, Haskell was still in the bedroom with the woman. After realizing police were downstairs, Haskell got into the bed with the woman and told her to tell them he was her “lover,” the affidavit states.

When Haskell moved the sheets to make it look like he was sleeping, the woman got out of the bed and ran. She “ran downstairs to officers in a panicked and horrified manner,” police wrote.

Police then arrested Haskell at gunpoint.

The woman told detectives that “she was sure she was going to die and that she was just waiting for the suspect to stab her,” the affidavit states.

Haskell, who police say had drugs and drug paraphernalia on him at the time of the incident, was previously convicted of drug-related crimes at least four other times, according to the affidavit. He also has a lengthy criminal history.

“It is of note that Haskell had recently been incarcerated at the Utah State Prison after previously being released on parole and committing a parole violation. Within in the last few days, Haskell was released from the Utah State Prison to a halfway house. ... However due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, he was suddenly released on (March 17),” police noted in their affidavit.

For the latest incident, Haskell was charged Monday in 4th District Court with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery, first-degree felonies; aggravated kidnapping, possession of a weapon by a restricted person, and drug possession, third-degree felonies.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department shocked that releasing burglars, rapists and murderers leads to burglaries, rapes and murders.

(AP) Los Angeles
April 14, 2020

Los Angeles Sheriff Alex "Dumbstruck" Villanueva told residents in an interview conducted on April 13, 2020 that he was "shocked" and "saddened" to learn that the release of more than 4,000 burglars, rapists and murderers led to a palpable increase in the number of burglaries, rapes and murders.

"I had no reason to suspect anything of the sort would occur. When we released the prisoners, we told them to maintain the 6 foot circle of safety, and be sure to obey all laws. Those prisoners," Villanueva said as he teared up, "promised to obey the safety circle and be good guys when released. How was I to know they were criminals who would not follow directions?"

Villanueva pledged to inflict significant punishment on the wrongdoers. "Oh, those guys are in a world of hurt when I get to them." When asked how he planned on imposing punishment on criminals no longer in custody, Villanueva replied, "They said they would come back for court hearings! They PROMISED!!"

None of the prisoners was available for comment.

Old news previously posted Saul. TSFNS was all over that.

I liked how they had to release a statement saying sheltering from a tornado took precedence over social distancing........
