The Coronavirus thread

And again, that’s good news if you happen to contract it, and bad news for opening up society.

Why? Because it is contagious and less deadly than the models showed?

Has anyone else thought about when we open about all the single women who have been locked up without getting any D for months? Bars are going to be a brothal.

Yeah and they all look hot until you get them home and they take off their masks!

Yeah, she was really triggered by that. I am "too insensitive and make fun of too many things that should be taken seriously". Better to know now than later.

Indy, there's no better way to say goodbye than to have sex one last time, get on top in missionary and start pretending you're somebody with down's syndrome.

AMAZING Sex. So much energy expended by both parties!

We didn’t shut down society because it’s deadly, we shut down society because it’s contagious. Learning that it is even more contagious than thought supports the reasoning for shutting down society.

You think we shut down the country from a virus with a 99% survival rate? It was shut down to prevent deaths due to the perceived risk of overwhelming the medical system. Yet more waffling about how to justify the dismissal of civil liberties over a respiratory infection.

Uhhh, maybe.

But cold viruses are also extremely contagious. Should we shut down our economy and throw 20 million people out of work because of a cold virus?

Oh, I see, shut down only when the mortality rate is "x" (nobody seems to be able to define this, by the way) percent.

And what TSF has said, what numerous scientists have said, what doctors are now saying, and what the data show is that the Chinese flu is nowhere near as deadly as originally thought, or as modified projections stated, or as modified-modified projections said. And if, as seems to be the case, a **** ton more people have it and have simply recovered without even noticing, and if the number of deaths continues at the current rate, the mortality rate could damn well be much, much, MUCH lower than projected - the 3% level that justified the lockdown.

You keep saying, "If you are correct and the virus is much more communicable than originally believed, that justified the lockdown." Maybe, maybe not. That is true IF AND ONLY IF the mortality rate is quite high, meaning 1% or more. Why?

Because the common cold and the flu virus are extremely communicable and infect millions per year, up to 120,000,000 in the United States alone from what I have read, but don't justify a lockdown since the mortality rate is low.

The same as may well be true for the Chinese flu.

You should apply to work for the WHO. You'd be a perfect fit.

I was for the shutdown when we did not know that much about the virus. Now that we know what is going on with the virus and have established that it doesn't kill healthy people with no underlying conditions it is time to end the shutdowns.

Hey, this is a great move yes? Remember how HIPAA protected your health privacy. Well, "IN THE NAME OF PUBLIC SAFETY" - the new catch all that allows us to destroy all rights known to man - your health is no longer private.

We are watching the police state grow in front of our eyes.

Judge orders McHenry County Department of Health to disclose names of coronavirus patients to emergency dispatchers

A judge has ordered that the McHenry County Department of Health divulge the names of coronavirus patients to emergency dispatchers so police know who has the virus when they respond to emergency calls, prosecutors said.

State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally’s office filed a lawsuit last week on behalf of the sheriff. After the filing, police departments from Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, the city of McHenry, and Woodstock joined the suit.

On Friday, McHenry County Judge Michael Chmiel entered a temporary restraining order mandating that the Health Department disclose to police the names of those actively infected with COVID-19.

Sheriff Bill Prim had asked the Health Department to provide the names and addresses of those infected to the county’s Emergency Telephone System Board, which oversees the dispatch of 911 calls.

The information would be relayed to responding officers on each call as necessary to help them protect their health, Prim said.

The Health Department refused to reveal the names, prosecutors stated in a news release. Health departments have typically cited privacy concern in withholding such information, specifically the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

The court order directed the Health Department to disclose the names within 24 hours of being notified. The order also required that the names of patients shall be purged from the dispatch system seven days after the health department deems the patients no longer contagious. The court also ordered that all the information received by the dispatch system be kept confidential.

“This was a no-brainer for the Health Department, a common-sense, confidential, and entirely lawful way they could have worked collaboratively with police departments to assist in enhancing the safety of officers and the community in these dangerous times, and they strangely refused,” Kenneally said. “The fact that we had to spend precious time and public resources, clearly best spent elsewhere in this difficult time, to get a court order in our favor is beyond disappointing.”

A health department spokeswoman said the agency was complying with the order.

The department issued a statement that it had previously decided to share only the addresses of COVID-19 cases, but not the name, as the “minimum necessary to accomplish the purpose,” as provided by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

The department stated that giving the names of COVID-19 patients to police will “confer a false sense of security to the police, and that they should be taking extra protective steps with all people they encounter, including with colleagues.”

You know, on most every state’s website is an old link to the description of the “15 day pause” theory that sparked this lockdown... it clearly was meant to slow stuff down to get ahead of the issue... mission accomplished... lets move on...

Zona is 100% spot on. The crisis that never was is hammering the health care industry. Yes, two hospitals in NYC are overwhelmed. Got it.

99.99% of the nation is not New York city. Zona and Charlie provide two versions of the same thing - the hospital-will-be-overwhelmed panic never came to pass, and more and more seems like it was never going to happen. Meanwhile, the doctors and nurses we need every day for, oh, irrelevant things like hypertension care, diabetic care, orthopedic surgery so we can move around without pain, heart disease care, Crohn's disease, and on and on are not making any money. The facilities they work at are not making any money. The clinics are suffering and face significant financial harm. The doctors and nurses not in NYC are not overwhelmed.

Time to get back to work, and ban any more ****** Chinese products from entering our markets.

**** China.

This^^

sums up all up.

Unfortunately the general public has been sold on this being the black plague going on 8 weeks.

I am amazed at how quickly our rights are not really rights. They're just loaned to us by government who can take them away with the stroke of a pen.

That's what I take away from this entire fiasco. It's an eye opener for sure.

I am starting to get a real bad feeling about this whole pandemic. I am starting to feel like this is a scam. I already feel that Washington is a den of thieves,
If true, this can ignite a civil war,

It is believed the Coronavirus originated in a lab in Wuhan, China.

Nuh-uh. Say it isn’t so. If you believed the bat story, you are an idiot. Glad FOXNews caught up to reality. Wonder if the rest of the MSM will.

I saw an hour long documentary that somebody posted on Facebook detailing the craziness in China, and how it is very plausible that this virus not only came from that lab, but very well may have been engineered as a biological weapon that accidentally got out.
This was not a conspiracy documentary, it was supported by many facts. Quite interesting.
Yeah and **** China.

my wife has been pissed at me for weeks because I called this a hoax (the pandemic political part, not the people getting sick part) and said the stats weren't right. So its been cold in the house.

Over the last couple days, she has been apologizing profusely. Here is a little gem of a link she came up with today:

It seems many expert folks have not been listened to all around the globe.

Wait, just now? You’ve got more game than that. You knew somewhere in your gut long before now.

We are weeks away from mayhem. Not months, weeks. We need to get **** figured out. Fast.

Anyone notice how the Great Suppression apologists are by and large (not all) Liberals?

Regardless, something hasn't been right about this since the beginning.

One of my wife’s companies facilities in Ohio has lost 7 clients. All from one patient starting a chain reaction. This is serious for segments of our population. I know we need to get things open but we do have to be cautious even after.

Want to know why some of us have at least some concern about this? One of these is my daughters hospital

I think everyone gets it that this virus seems to be transmitted easily and that you're concerned for your daughters safety. I get it, my daughter is a nurse as well.
But the mortality of this virus appears to be near zero without a co-morbidity, so while those 80 employees may have tested positive, their outcomes will most likely be 100%.
Until antibody tests are done on everyone, who knows how many of us have been infected.

Are PPE's still an issue there like the union rep suggests?
