The Coronavirus thread

I don’t wear mine outdoors either- just long enough to get from my car into the store. But that 2 minute walk is HELL. Once I’m in the store, the mask is OFF and it stays off.

The walk from the car to the store is outdoors presumably so that's where you don't need to wear it. Inside the store is where you do (at least in places where there's a mandate). So I'm a little confused as to why you would wear it walking from the car to the store and take it off once inside. That's the opposite of any recommendations.

I don’t want to fuss with putting the mask on as I enter the store. As for leaving it on inside- I feel suffocated with it on and it get really hot. While it’s required indoors, they can’t force you to wear them. But you cannot ENTER the store without a mask.

I was sitting in my car this morning waiting for my son to finish practice and I saw a lady sitting in her car next to me also waiting for her kid. She's alone in her car, windows up, air conditioner blasting......with her mask secured firmly in place. I shook my head and honestly felt sympathy for her.

Think I just witnessed the ultimate in fear mongering. The local NBC station news broke for commercial with a question, "Do most Covid patients recover?" I'm like WTF?

Then they do a piece saying it's from the WHO that says for every Covid death, there are 7 that recover, so yes most do recover. Again, WTF! They were implying a 12.5% mortality rate.

This is getting insane.

I'm there too when you start to realize that this an act of war -- psychological warfare -- especially against women and children who are struggling the most psychologically with this.

While I wish more could see through this, it's hard be too mad at people who are just scared.

Forgot my mask today as I entered Dollar Tree...Nobody said a damn word. Didn’t wear my mask this morning when I stopped at a gas station to get a soda. So WHY is mask wearing required? **** this.

Wichita has a mask mandate...BUT..where my summer school building is- it’s NOT required. It’s an IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT- meaning low income. So masks aren’t required because of financial hardships. So...the population density there is high...but the people there are poor so they don’t have to wear (or buy) masks. Hasn’t it been “proven” that hush density population = virus spread? Someone please explain this to me.

The department of health came to my facility today for the infection control survey. Our assistant director of nursing called out 2 inspectors for standing too close and kindly asked them to social distance :smile2: As for the survey so far so good as far as i know. They will be back tomorrow though

Well we now have an “emergency mask mandate” that goes into effect tomorrow through at least August 9. Masks are to be worn EVERYWHERE, including outside. Looks like I’m gonna get all my shopping and **** done today and hunker down for a month. The temp is supposed to be over 100 this weekend and these dumbass politicians expect us to mask up outside??? It’s one thing to mask up to walk into a building. But to mask up to walk, run, or just BE outside is ******* STUPID. Let’s have the heat stroke death rate go up now. I’m so done with all of this. Over it.

Not sure who the dumb ones are considering other countries managed to basically eliminate their cases

The dumb ones were out mass protesting if this "pandemic" is really that bad.

Masks have very limited efficacy and are certainly more of a mass Reassurance Ritual in the face of something unseen and fearful.

One thing that is really bothering me is doesn't the extreme heat kill this virus pretty much like any other respiratory and water droplets-spread virus?

I don’t know. I’ve heard heat does kill and I’ve heard it doesn’t. Who the **** knows?

It is more UVB rays than heat. Unfortunately, the heat has driven people indoors, where it is spread more easily.

Yeah that, need to get better at being specific sometimes. On a related note, I just read that church gatherings have apparently produced 650 Coronavirus deaths across the U.S. 650! No wonder they're taking our religious liberties away.

Edit: That's cases not deaths since reopening.
