The Coronavirus thread

Hospitalizations. Wisconsin has set up a field hospital at its State Fair Park and has started to admit patients to it. How’s that for context? Not exactly a “rounding the curve, ending the pandemic” type situation.

Odds that those field hospitals end up the same way the USS Comfort and every other field hospital that was set up? Unused, torn down, sailed away?

We will see.

Wisconsin ranks 27th out of all states in deaths (1,897) with a population of 5,822,434 (0.033%). They have had 210,126 cases and 1,897 deaths (0.903%). They rank 38th in deaths per 1Million in population.

Maybe they can park the military ship in the Great Lakes, NY never used it. And I-know they can’t really do that, just saying.

COVID-19 patients who are less sick but still require hospital care will be treated at the field hospital.

Patients must be between 18 and 70 years old and have been hospitalized for at least 48 hours before they can be transported to the medical station.

The patients also must have vital signs that are close to normal, fevers below 100 degrees and must be able to walk on their own or with the assistance of one other person.

The patients treated at the facility may need oxygen therapy, additional rest or medication, Standridge said. The patients typically will stay about three to six days.

Fun fact: 6% of hospital beds nationwide dedicated to COVID are full.

That is staggering, eye roll. Both of my college age kids got it at school. My daughter was so happy to get it, she had 7 test before testing positive. She is a athlete so she was getting tested more. Now she can practice the next 3 months with no more test. They both had small cough and sniffles, neither had a fever. 21 year old son and 18 year old daughter. 2 different in state Universities in SC.

Keep researching and you’ll find that 245 of those deaths were in the past week, including 63 in one day. They trail only the Dakotas and Montana in deaths per Million in the past week.

Or maybe Wisconsin just discovered that if you call more issues "Covid-related" you get more money from federal programs.

Which points to exactly what?

We should keep worshipping at the altar of COVID?
Nationally we should be locked down ruining businesses and lives and our economy?
COVID is still less deadly than driving an automobile, an act most of us still undertake daily?

If you bothered to look, you'll see Wisconsin is actually hitting it's surge. As was said when NY was peaking, it would hit other states. There is no bell curve for Wisconsin, they appear to be entering it.

All viruses take their path and make their bell curve course. Wisconsin is getting hit and will manage as other states have.

Yes, given the # of instances deaths have been fraudulently classified as COVID deaths, given in some states hospitals and states make up to $30,000 per COVID case in funding/taxes, I remain shocked that anyone simply trusts the numbers of deaths as gospel. Some % of them are wrong. I suspect it's larger than we want to believe.

Um, pretty much the entire country is surging. Not as much as Wisconsin, but the US is breaking daily case records. You were aware, right?

Lock your Covid kid in his room, Tim.

You don't need to confirm that you are a vile, disgusting, loathesome, grotesque, miserable ****.

We already knew that.

And if there is karma - and God knows I root for it - I know of one guy who definitely deserves to die of Covid, alone, in his one-bedroom apartment, and whose body is not discovered for two weeks because nobody ******* missed him and only his rancid stench made anybody notice. Not naming names here.

And Tim has asthma, so getting a respiratory virus is sketchy for him. But you don't know the man or his family so **** you for this comment, you insufferable douchebag.

And way to take the high road, Tim. Hard to do sometimes with this freeloading troll.

I have no such worries. These vile ******* get away with too much because as a rule, conservatives are forgiving, religious and generally nice.

Me? If those loathesome scum want to battle, let's go. Bring it on.

Wow, you mean your stupid ******* lockdowns and mask wearing DID NOT ******* WORK?!?!

I know you are too stupid to realize, but in fact that is exactly what you're saying. We did the stupid ******* lockdown for no ******* reason. A virus doesn't ******* disappear because lunatic governors order us to hide.

Oh, and by the way, you loathesome bile, since you never missed a check, how about helping support the site?

Yeah, thought so.

I'd put Flog on a leash, but he'd ask for a ball gag to go with it.

Florida adds 4,198 new COVID-19 cases and 77 deaths as positivity drops to less than 5%
Howard Cohen, The Miami Herald 3 hrs ago

Florida’s Department of Health on Thursday confirmed 4,198 additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s known total to 794,624 Also, 77 resident deaths were announced, bringing the resident death toll to 16,648.

The state did not report any new non-resident deaths so the non-resident toll remains at 204.

Florida has seen increases in newly confirmed cases this month. Thursday is the third consecutive day state cases increased by 4,000 or more. The 77 deaths is the most since Saturday when the same number was reported.

The state’s percent positivity for new daily cases — people who tested positive for the first time — decreased Thursday to 4.89% from Wednesday’s 5.43%, according to the Florida Department of Health. Testing on a day-to-day basis also saw some increase from 75,067 to 85,630.

24,000 – 62,000
flu deaths

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2019-2020.html
Influenza activity in the United States during the 2019–2020 season began to increase in November and was consistently high through January and February. The season was characterized by two consecutive waves of activity, beginning with influenza B viruses and followed by A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses. Overall, influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses were the most commonly reported influenza viruses this season. Activity began to decline in March, perhaps associated with community prevention measures for COVID-19.

if Tim's kid wasnt so ashamed and embarrassed to have been spawned by Tim, he'd be here to defend himself and, unlike his dad, would kick the **** out of Flog intellectually.

C'mon man. I might have to go get him.

I'm optomisticly assuming some talks happened privately and that Flog didn't just get away clean with that post he made.

As is Europe just as much as the US with more deaths. Is that all Trumps fault?

Absolutely. Once Trump got the Covid, he immediately went to Wisconsin and Florida and started licking doorknobs, then to France and Belgium, the same.

I swear to God, if Joe Biden were President, the Covid would hide FROM HIM in the Biden basement! In conclusion, Orange Man Bad.
