The Coronavirus thread

Just do not vote for democrats or they may never find you in the swamps...haha. Leave that failed bullshit in the state you fled. Just remove your head from your *** and let the common sense flow back into your brain.

Have you met Spike yet?

My favorite folks who wear the dirty cross contaminated submission rags? People outside riding bicycles alone.

Aslo, if someone suggested to Dr. F*ckface Fauci that a plastic bag over his head, with a rubber band around the neck, would stop 100% of transmission........ do you think he'd try it?

Maybe, just maybe...it could be that lockdowns and masking are ineffective? Their response will be to move to triple masks and moar lockdowns!!

Biden COVID Adviser Has No Answer To Question About Why Locked-Down California Isn’t Outperforming Open Florida

Andy-Slavitt-responds-to-question-about-Florida-versus-California-MSNBC-screengrab-e1613611850671.jpg

Dr. Andy Slavitt, a White House COVID-19 adviser, had no direct answer to a question Wednesday from MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle about why California’s numbers “aren’t that different” from Florida.

“I want to start with what we just saw, contrast states like Florida and California, California basically in lockdown and their numbers aren’t that different from Florida,” Ruhle asked Slavitt during a Wednesday morning “MSNBC Live” interview.

“Look, there’s so much of this virus that we think we understand, that we think we can predict, that’s just beyond — a little beyond our explanation,” Slavitt responded. “What we do know is the more careful people are, the more they mask and social distance. And the quicker we vaccinate, the quicker it goes away and the less its spreads.”

CLEARLY NOT DOC

After bringing up the need to get “better visibility into variants,” Slavitt called the virus “hard to predict.”

“And as we all have learned by this time, this is a virus that continues to surprise us,” he continued. “It’s very hard to predict. And all around the country, we’ve got to continue to do a better job, and I think we are, but we’re not done yet.”

California’s approach to COVID-19 has centered around lockdowns, indoor and outdoor mask mandates and school closures, while Florida has by-and-large remained open since an initial shutdown last spring. Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis remains one of the nation’s few governors to avoid enacting a statewide mask mandate, and while several localities require masks, they aren’t allowed to fine citizens for non-compliance.

While California’s numbers trended below Florida’s for most of the pandemic, the fall surge hit the Golden State particularly hard. California has had 88,379 cases per million, around 2,500 cases more than Florida’s 85,886. Florida does lead California in deaths per million, at 1,213 to 1,365, but over 20 percent of Florida’s population is 65 years of age or older, the second-highest such percentage in the U.S.

Governor approval ratings have reflected the fortunes of the two states. Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s approval rating has tanked to 46% as he faces a recall election, while DeSantis’ rating stood at 54% late last month.

It's kind of hard to compare states like California and Florida. California has congested cities like San Diego, LA and San Fran. And Florida is more spread out.
Miami is a big city, but its very spread out, no big downtown business or social life.

Dumbest post of the day, so far. Until your next one...

Why is it dumb? Infection rates are much higher in urban areas where people live closer together and places like grocery stores are more crowded.
California has 4 cities in the top 20 most populated in the USA (San Jose, LA, San Diego and San Fran), Florida has 1 Jacksonville. Florida is largely a
suburban/rural state.

Good lord man. Do some research before you post? You just post **** you know nothing about and haven't researched. You CLEARLY have never been to Miami. Literally I know you haven't been by your post. Miami is dense when you are inside Miami City limits. Anyone having been there knows this. You clearly need a map to find your own ***.

Miami has a higher population density than Los Angeles and San Diego.

Population Density is computed by dividing the total population by Land Area Per Square Mile:

San Francisco pop density 18,562
Miami pop density 12,579
Los Angeles pop density 8,449
San Diego pop density 4,311

Clearly you ALSO have no clue about COVID, falling for the same failed bullshit the media feeds you. "But it's worse in densely populated areas...."

Weren't you and your cohorts here SCREAMING about North and South Dakota and their case rate??? So what is it for you, pick a position please. Next, study California for some insight into where COVID is hitting the hardest. You clearly are lost...again.

California COVID cases per 100,000K Residents:

1614095126510.png
1614095162397.png
San Diego County is ranked 27
Los Angeles County is ranked 28
San Francisco County is ranked 53

Further....for you to say that Florida is more rural than California again shows your utter, total lack of knowledge of what you spout about. You can define rural by population and where they live or by land. Florida and California are both shaded the same below....huh? Wait what? 21 said Florida was largely a rural/suburban state. Me doesn't think you've been to California either 21. California, for it's major population centers, has TREMENDOUS rural areas. Where do you think the tomatoes you eat in the winter come from????

1614095475524.png

Then there's population density...you know to blow up your ill-informed claim that California is more DENSE than Florida...except, wrong again sir! Florida is the 8th most densely populated state in the USA, California is 11th.

1614095748144.png
1614095797952.png

21....quite literally every single thing you claimed in those 2 posts was factually, provably wrong. Dead...***...wrong.

Sheesh man.

Not sure where you get your stats, but out of the top ten most densely populated cities in the US, California has 5 and Florida 1. These big cities
have a disproportionate amount of the virus infections, compared to the rest of the state. Just look at Miami compared to the rest of Florida.

Stunning. I provide you with data, and you revert to your unsubstantiated talking points.

The LA Times produces a weekly updated list of COVID case rates by county in California. It's right up there for you to view. The counties that house LA, San Francisco and San Diego rank 27, 28 and 53 of ALL counties in California. That destroys your theory that the hardest hit areas are urban.

You can expand all of the counties in that article and take a look at recent and cumulative cases. The worst current case rate is here in California:

The population density numbers are aren't arguable. I provided you the graphics from the web page showing the population density per square mile of the states. Florida IS MORE densely populated than California per square mile comparing state to state.

You are using absolute numbers to make a faulty claim. OF COURSE there will be more total cases in Miami than in Naples...because the population is larger. What matters is the case rate. What % of those areas are being infected. In California, as I showed....the counties with the largest cities - San Fran, LA, San Diego - are FAR down the list in terms of what % of their populations are infected.

Next spin? If you want to substantiate your baseless claims, provide some documented evidence. Tired of doing your work for you.

Pffft, no social happenenings in Miami. Once site ranks it first, okay, but the other ranks it SECOND, behind Las Vegas, which is a renowned snooze-fest, old folks home!!!

I had to read 21's comment twice, since I believed it impossible for any sentient creature to state that Miami is "a big city, but its very spread out, no big downtown business or social life."

Jesus Christ, wasn't there a show in the 1980's focusing on how Miami was party-town USA??
