My post was in direct line with what Tibs was whining about. He was insinuating the only time(s) we need to or should honor the military are on those specific marked days on the calendar.
 
My #1 takeaway from 4th of July is America won't tolerate Kings and Tyrants, who place themselves above the citizens of the nation and above the laws of the land. That is a basic tenet of what America was founded on. It is important to always remind ourselves of this fundamental principle, regardless which political party is in power in Congress, or which party the President belongs to.

That is all.

And yet, we see members of Congress advocating for and breaking the law with sanctuary policies daily. Do you really believe no one is above the law, or only the ones you dislike?

Yes, I believe that regardless of political party or political persuasion. I hope that sentiment is shared by those on this side of the aisle as well.

And she's likely proud of it. And there is nothing wrong with that. Just try to keep your grip on reality before you compare her to Mother Teresa.

I believe that those on the right, with the GOP at the forefront, are completely ignoring a lawless, out-of-control presidency, the likes of which we have never seen before. I believe this President should be immediately impeached and barred from office. Whatever issues you have with Dems are basically immaterial at this point, given the scope and range of what's happening with the Executive branch. Do something to reel in this runaway train, and I'll support whatever investigations that may be warranted regarding wrongdoing by the Dems. But it's apples & oranges at this stage, by a large margin.

This sums it up nicely.

Trump’s Impeachable Offenses:

#1.) Trump welcomed, aided and abetted Russia’s attack on America; then denied it even happened and took Putin’s word over our own intelligence agencies.

#2.) Trump instructed his officials to ignore Congressional subpoenas.

#3.) Trump told border patrol agents to defy judges and break the law.

#4.) Rex Tillerson says Trump told him to do illegal things as Secretary of State.

#5.) Trump is suing Elijah Cummings to prevent the release of his financial records. So the chief executive is asking the judicial branch to prevent the legislative branch from conducting Constitutionally mandated oversight.

#6.) Trump has perjured his oath of office by flouting our laws, violating the Constitution, attacking the separation of powers, our judicial system, our law enforcement agencies, and our free press.

#7.) Trump has committed felony campaign finance crimes, detailed by the Southern District of New York (SDNY)

#8.) Trump is committing daily violations of the emoluments clause of the Constitution; as he refused to divest from his businesses and continues to profit from them and accept money and gifts from foreign governments

#9.) The Mueller Report detailed 14 separate acts of Trump obstructing justice in his attempts to curtail the investigation into him and Russia’s attack on our election

#10.) Trump’s administration has been committing crimes against humanity by separating families and incarcerating children in concentration camps

#11.) Trump knowingly and deliberately incites violence against his own citizens; specifically targeting members of the press that he perceives as his enemy for simply reporting the truth.

#12.) Trump Refuses to Defend the United States. He won’t take action to protect our elections from foreign attacks, because he finds it politically and personally unpalatable. This is a violation of his oath of office.

#13.) Trump tried repeatedly to fulfill his campaign promise to "Lock Up” Hillary Clinton. He pressured Sessions to prosecute Clinton THREE TIMES. This is a surreal abuse of executive authority in trying to target a rival.

#14.) Trump fired McGahn’s law firm in retaliation for him testifying. The statute states that causing harm to an individual in retaliation for testimony is a criminal offense carrying a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

#15.) After Mueller definitively established that Russia attacked our election in 2016, every Democratic presidential campaign promised not to use hacked materials. Trump’s re-election campaign refuses to make this pledge.

#16.) Trump announced that he will categorically ignore ALL SUBPOENAS issued by Congress for witnesses or documents. He won’t evaluate them. He’ll IGNORE THEM ALL. That is Contempt of Congress and it was the 3rd Article of Impeachment against Nixon.

#17.) John Thune: “Lying to the American people is a betrayal of trust. The pattern of deception & dishonesty acts as a bodyguard to this president strikes at the very core of his ability to lead.” Trump has told 9500+ lies.

#18.) Trump has sparked a surge of white supremacist terrorism with his hateful rhetoric that glorifies Nazis and demonizes immigrants, Muslims, blacks, Jews, gays & every other marginalized group. He does this DELIBERATELY.

#19.) Trump has made sure federal agencies led by his appointees don’t have internal ethics oversight by leaving ethics leadership roles empty. This is how his entire Cabinet is able to rack up endless scandals with impunity.

#20.) Trump has been mentally unfit for office since Day 1. A new report by psychiatrists shows how the Mueller Report establishes new details into his utter inability to process risks or act in the interests of the nation.

#21.) While Trump abuses his authority to declare fake national emergencies, his officials at Homeland Security are disbanding programs that are vital to our security and combat actual rising threats, like domestic terrorism.

#22.) Trump installed Bill Barr as AG solely to protect him from the findings of the Mueller Investigation. Barr has now committed perjury as well as obstruction and may have even shut down the investigation prematurely.

#23.) Trump & Giuliani are corruptly pushing AG Barr to weaponize the DOJ against the Biden family over matters in Ukraine. This is another surreal abuse of executive power that is inexplicably being assisted by the media.

#24.) Trump initiated a call with Putin, in which he spoke to him for an hour and a half, and not only didn’t bring up his attack on our election, but discussed details of the investigation including whether or not McGahn would be allowed to testify.

#25.) Trump wants “toughness” at the border and has been musing about US soldiers and agents getting “rough” with migrants. This is tyrannical, unconstitutional, and violates the human rights of people legally seeking asylum.

#26.) Trump isn’t just doing nothing to secure our elections; he’s actively discouraging the <s>@</s>FBI and other agencies from protecting us from Russian attacks in 2020 by threatening investigation into THEM. This is treason.

#27.) Trump and his admin brazenly refuse to faithfully execute the laws as required in Article 2, section 3 of the Constitution. This can be seen from every cabinet member who works against the very purpose of their agency.

#28.) Trump’s Treasury Secretary has refused to comply with Congressional requests to turn over Trump’s tax returns saying there is no “legislative purpose” for doing so. The law is clear. They “shall be produced.” Mnuchin is violating the law.

#29.) Trump and White House officials have violated the Presidential Records Act by intentionally failing to create & preserve records related to meetings with Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-Un & other foreign government officials.

#30.) Trump has been quietly revoking Press passes for reporters; barring access to the WH Press pool for media members who have been reporting on the WH for years or even decades. This is a blatant 1st Amendment violation.
 
If Obama gave that wonderful tribute to the military, the MSM would be feverishly looking into how he could get another Nobel.

But we all know Obama would have never done anything like that.
