Why do I have to do all the work around here?? I want a raise. From Ron's linky link:
What, you slackers can't click on a link?

In the last few decades, Democrats have expanded their advantages in California and New York — states with huge urban centers that combined to give Clinton a 6 million vote edge, more than twice her national margin. But those two states elect only 4 percent of the Senate. Meanwhile, Republicans have made huge advances in small rural states — think Arkansas, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana and West Virginia — that wield disproportionate power in the upper chamber compared to their populations.
I would add that the House is similar in that each state gets one electoral vote for each Congressional district. Now that gets adjusted every ten years with the Census but still if NY and CA add 10 million more Democrat votes it doesn't do them any good. To win, the Dems have to endure the horror of appealing to the Walmart shoppers in middle America.

I love it. Tells you how bad Trump is doing, that his supporters need to stroke their own egos and pat themselves on the back on a daily basis to prove how great the President is. North Korea has nothing on you guys. Quick, when is Trump's next ego-stroking campaign rally? Oh, he's still on vacation, maybe when he gets back he can pump the crowd back up again, to tell you how fabulous he is.

What, you slackers can't click on a link?

LOL. It's nice to know what's behind it. In NY, you wouldn't attend a play that simply said "Play. 8PM. Tonight." You need the teaser, the headline - "Cats. 8PM. Tonight. Longest running, most successful play on Broadway."

OK now I need a nap.

Nothing diversionary or hypocritical at all about this post ::cough cough::

Now to your rubbish. It really is an amazing feeling right now. Now I know what it's like to be a disillusioned Obama supporter fawning all over a man who was incompetent yet seeing him as Black Jesus.

Except Donald's successes aren't about forcing little boys and little girls to share the same bathrooms and showers in elementary school and high school. His victories aren't walking away from red lines in the sand, or using his federal agencies as weapons of attack against his enemies like Lois Lerner and the IRS.

No, as has been posted, the man's getting **** done. You can only focus on the smoke. But behind the smoke, well, it's all here in 42+ beautiful pages.

Corporate America Is Having Its Best Earnings Season in 13 Years

Overseas demand is driving the best earnings season for U.S. companies in 13 years, with top executives from Dow Chemical Co. to Morgan Stanley citing rising foreign sales, a dynamic that should help propel gains in the second half.

With nearly every global economy showing growth, corporate profits in the second quarter have beaten estimates at more than three-quarters of the Standard & Poor’s 500 member companies. In every sector, at least half of the companies have surpassed or met expectations, with many also getting a boost from a sinking U.S. dollar.

“Growth was particularly strong in key regions of North America and Europe, where we grew sales greater than twice GDP, as well as throughout Asia-Pacific,” Dow Chief Executive Officer Andrew Liveris said on a conference call to discuss quarterly profit of $1.3 billion, which surpassed analysts’ expectations.

I just got the first bonus I've ever had in the SUMMER. The small (and I mean 25 million/year) family owned construction company I work for is having such a good year they need to start thinking about taxes in August. So they gave out bonuses to all management positions early. Normally I get bonuses around end of year depending on how well we do, but in my 25 years in construction I never got a bonus in summer until this year.

******* A I like what's happening to the economy.....

Why do I have to do all the work around here?? I want a raise. From Ron's linky link:

'Stunning' Congressional Map for 2018 Midterms Will Be Most Depressing Thing Democrats See All Month

FiveThirtyEight published a stunning assessment of Democrats’ prospects at retaking control of Congress in 2018 — and it doesn’t look good.

In fact, for Democrats, the upcoming congressional map is downright depressing.

dems-1-1024x511.jpg

Here’s the bottom line, according to FiveThirtyEight:

Ouch.

Why does reality look so bleak for Democrats? Partly because Democrats will be forced to defend 25 of their 48 Senate seats, but Republicans will have to fight for just eight of their 52. However, the report also points out that Democrats have been focusing so much on states like California and New York that the GOP has been able to make gains in real America:

CNN's Chris Cillizza called the findings “stunning.”
Stunning? More like Stun Gunning!

Report: Movie Box Office On Track for Lowest in 25 Years as Spielberg-Lucas “Blockbuster Implosion” Omen Prevails

Reports now, according to Exhibitor Relations: if things continue as they have, this will be the lowest box office in a quarter century. While there have been bright spots (“Dunkirk”) and surprises (“Baby Driver”) the failures have outweighed everything.

Start with a total write off on “King Arthur” and go from there. Then go to “The Dark Tower.”

One terrible new failure: “Nut Job 2,” they say, is the biggest loser ever in wide release (4000+) studio movie. It made just over $8 million this weekend.

Four years ago, at a USC symposium, famed and very successful directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg warned the film industry that reliance on blockbusters– tent pole movies that failed would cause an implosion. At first no one took them seriously. But now maybe we’re seeing what they meant.

Spielberg said at the time: “That’s the big danger, and there’s eventually going to be an implosion — or a big meltdown. There’s going to be an implosion where three or four or maybe even a half-dozen mega budget movies are going to go crashing into the ground, and that’s going to change the paradigm.”

Other huge flops this year include “Life” — the sci fi movie no one saw, “Monster Trucks,” which was a monster disaster. “Ghost in the Shell” with Scarlett Johansson also came and went quickly. Plus Will Ferrell’s “The Office” was a total write off, and Sony’s “Rough Night” was an embarrassment.

I’m not counting the $100 million plus lost on “The Promise,” because it was a vanity production.

This year also brought Tom Hanks’s biggest flop in decades, “The Circle.” And of course there were the two misbegotten TV remakes– “Baywatch” and “CHiPs.”

Even blockbusters that seemed like hits weren’t — “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” was a bloated mess. And “Transformers 5” was so bad that critics wondered why it was made. “The Mummy” also reeked of failure and desperation.

Studios keep counting on international sales to bail them out. And it works a lot of the time. But continuing to send bad product from the US will eventually take its toll.

So very worth repeating. MAGA

Trump quietly putting his stamp on the courts

President Trump has been quietly making lifetime appointments to fill more than 100 vacancies on federal courts across the country.

With five judges confirmed, another 30 pending and 123 seats left to fill, according to one group tracking the numbers, Trump has the opportunity to revamp the judiciary branch and carve out a legacy for himself that could stand the test of time.

“It can’t be overstated the impact the individuals he’s appointing will have on millions of people across the country and their children for a generation or two,” said Dan Goldberg, legal director at the liberal Alliance for Justice (AFJ).

“The Supreme court only hears about 80 cases a year. 99 percent of cases end in the federal courts of appeal or at the trial level.”

Trump’s biggest achievement in office so far has been the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, for whom Republicans changed the Senate rules to proceed to a confirmation vote with a simple majority.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) — who refused to consider President Barack Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court seat, Merrick Garland, after Justice Antonin Scalia died in February 2016 — has repeatedly pointed to Gorsuch to rebut accusations that the GOP Congress has achieved little under Trump.

"Well, we have a new Supreme Court justice," McConnell said when asked how he’d explain to voters the party’s failure to repeal ObamaCare this summer.

"We have 14 repeals of regulations. And we're only six months into it. Last time I looked, Congress goes on for two years."

While another appointment to the high court in Trump’s presidency is possible or even likely, given the ages of several justices, it’s appointments to the lower district and circuit courts where the president is likely to have a bigger impact.

Ilya Shapiro, a member of the conservative Federalist Society and senior fellow in constitutional studies at the Cato Institute, said only one of the 13 federal circuit courts had a majority of judges appointed by Democrats when Obama took office.

When Obama left office, nine of the 13 courts had a majority of Democratic appointed judges, Shapiro said.

If I want to see a movie now, I wait until it hits Netflix. I saw "Fences" a few weeks ago. THAT was a good movie. And I got to be in the comfort of my home. I haven't been to a theater to see a movie in about 2 years. And I am perfectly OK with that.

Theaters just cost too much and the food prices are outrageous. Add to that the product on the screen usually stinks, and there you go. Much of red state America (like me) rarely goes to movies because we don't want to give our money to Liberals who hate us.

Disney has their schedule up for the next three years of big movies. Out of something like 20-22 "blockbusters" only TWO are going to be new ideas. Everything else is sequels or remakes.

They have nothing new to offer. It's just same old, same old.

I cannot wait for the '18 elections. Libs are going to be even more depressed and suicidal than they are now.

[Months of post-election malaise hamstrung the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) fundraising over the first six months of 2017, creating a serious money gap with Republicans and raising questions about Democrats’ ability to take advantage of opportunities in the 2018 midterms.

The DNC raised $38.2 million in the first half of the year, compared with the Republican National Committee's (RNC) $75.4 million haul during that period — a $37.2 million difference. As of June 30, the RNC has almost $45 million in the bank, while the DNC has just under $7.5 million, along with $3 million in debt./B]

They maybe losing support Indy but it's not because they ain'ta tryin'

You ever hear about a High School class called "Challenge Day" ?

This Nationwide Program Is Teaching Millions of Students to Become Leftist Snowflakes

Parents beware: A program called Challenge Day that applauds a culture of victimhood is planting the leftist agenda into young minds under the guise of anti-bullying education.

The program uses the power of peer pressure and groupthink to impress upon high school students the idea that everyone is a victim.

Challenge Day is no small initiative. According to the program’s website, it has been held at more than 2,200 high schools nationwide and reached millions of students.

The most concerning member of Challenge Day’s global governing board? The former “green-jobs czar” under President Barack Obama, Van Jones.

While Jones was in jail after a mass arrest, according to the East Bay Express, he said, “I met all these young radical people of color—I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.’”

After the election of President Donald Trump, the organization released a statement on its website implying that Trump is a bully, noting, “Since the election, reports have arisen of young people on campuses all over the United States who do not feel safe on campus due to acts of violence, bullying, racism and intimidation.”

Challenge Day conveniently left out the fact that the president has encouraged no such behavior and that many of these reports have been proven false.

Challenge Day even released a “Post-Election Kindness Grant.” The grant goes to schools that “have experienced post-election bullying” and want to participate in Challenge Day programs. If a school doesn’t receive a “Post-Election Kindness Grant,” it can always rely on the taxpayer. According to Challenge Day’s website, schools “have used a variety of federal, state, and foundation grants to pay for Challenge Day programs.”

Programs like Challenge Day teach students to find divisions constantly: Everyone and everything is racist, poses a direct threat to their safety, or is the product of some form of social privilege.

Instead of teaching resilience, respect, and independence, students are taught to break down and cry, discuss their feelings, and check their social “privilege.”

The kind of victimhood culture that Challenge Day promotes has devastating consequences for our society. This is particularly the case when students become adults who are unable to recognize the importance of free speech and individual responsibility.

Now we got an idea why our little crumb snatchers have come up with all these silly ideas and why they hate Trump. 'Cause they was taught that way by criminals and social parasites..,,,Feel better now ?

Ha ha ha! "Trump Stress" has the shrink business booming! Liberal *******. Talk it out, everything will be ok....

Therapists across the country say that business is booming from patients who say President Trump is the source of their “political anxiety.”
Deborah Cooper, a therapist based out of California, told the New York Daily News that business is so good that she is working overtime to accommodate all her patients.

“I have people I have not seen in literally 30 years that have called me to come back in because of trauma,” she said. “I am more than full. I am overworking.”

Cooper said that Trump’s response to the violence in Charlottesville was one anxiety-provoking event of many instances in Trump’s presidency that are coming “too fast and furious” for patients and therapists.

If you were to jump back in time 20-30 years and tell people this stuff, they wouldn't believe it. I don't know that I believe it myself.

How do people get so screwed up in the head to react like a 2 year old to everyday events ?

Nice to see Canada start to understand the issue... ********* judge us about illegal immigration from their soap box.

http://globalnews.ca/news/3677129/asylum-seeker-numbers-quebec-canada/

How funny is it that Canada gets 5000 undocumented immigrants and they already think (a majority) that their Government isn't doing enough to protect their borders, yet they call us racists and uncaring after allowing 11 MILLION illegals over decades and we finally start bitching....

Come on Tibs... you know that's kind of funny.
