No one believes that anyone on the spectrum is "retarded", in fact, it's the exact opposite. Despite social issues, they're generally higher functioning than us "normies"

Also, most people don't care if someone is "gay", you do you and I hope you're happy. But don't label disagreement as "hate" nor parade crossdressers in front of little kids and act like it isn't a psyops mission targeting of our youth.

I agree. I have a special needs son, and have no issues with the tern "retarded." It aptly communicates my opinion, with a lot of distain in there.

As for the "gay" thing, it will always be insulting to most men. It's gross, and demeaning. That's why it's used.

Until people quit using my Savior's name as a swear word, I don't give a rusty dump about feelings. Sorry. Not really.

Just because I post it doesn't mean I agree with all of it. Reminds me a little of Bill Maher and John Stewart, they're Libs but call out their own side not out of honesty but they don't want to see them lose.

I have a nephew that's on the spectrum and gay cousins. I don't view my nephew as retarded, and I don't care who is gay. As Badcat said, my nephew is highly functioning and very intelligent. You can give him any type of math problem, he spits the correct answer out in half a second while concentrating on a video game. He's hardly retarded.

It was a meme. Supposed to bring a little levity as to how ridiculous the last administration was with controlling speech. Good grief.

Me too, almost exactly. One of my nephews is on the spectrum is actually brilliant at puzzles and building models. Three gay cousins and a gay uncle. I pretty much only use retard to refer to liberals and my lack of computer skills. If you're gay and hear someone say "gay" you should be honored, no matter what the context. What about the whole "pride" thing? Is that fake? Be proud, homos!
 
Exactly. I don't think anyone on this board would call a mentally challenged person a retard. If I heard someone call my autistic nephew a retard they would be spitting teeth. However, I don't have a problem when the word is used to call someone an idiot . I'm not too sensitive about words. Btw, my nephew was just awarded a scholarship to attend a Catholic high school because he is a smart mother fukker.

I appreciate your opinion here, and anyone who knows me knows I'm not a supporter of trans activism or over-saturation of LGB views and cultural progressivism.
The meme hit a nerve. My daughter is lovely, but not gifted mathematically. She is a very good untrained artist.
But she takes great exception to the word, having been called it many times in her youth. I reacted viscerally.
 
I can see how someone could have taken the meme the wrong way. I mean, at first it looks like it's saying it's ok to call mentally challenged people retards. But, I took it as hey we're not going to get offended by everything anymore. Like I said decent, moral people don't punch down on those in less fortunate situations. When I do stupid shut, which is most of the time, call me a retard.

I totally understand, Wig. I'm certain that your daughter is lovely, and I am a great lover of art being an artist myself. If you find the inclination, I would love to see her work. I'll PM you my email address. My Daughter is also an artist, and she works as an interior designer. She has been commissioned several times to paint custom works, and she amazes me every time she shares her work.

I coached wrestling for over 16 years and had many an athlete on the spectrum and to this day, I keep in touch with every single one of them. One in particular I see almost daily at a local grocery store where he works. He tells very bad jokes, he knows they're bad, and he relishes in my reactions that make him laugh heartedly. That brings me a lot of joy and I look forward to seeing him. If anyone were to mistreat any of these wonderful athletes who bless my life, I would literally rip that person to shreds. As you know, they are very emotional and complex, and you really develop a deep relationship with them.

I can't tell you the times I wanted to punch faces over the way my boy was treated. I withheld, but it came close a time or two.
