Sort of.....he actually said that he will resign as party leader now, and later, after he and his Lberal party select a new leader he will resign as Prime Minister.
That will probably be a couple months. Then there will be an election called, probably with 2-3 months of campaigning.
TurdGo has taken the step of asking the Lt. Governor ( ironic title given Trumps humor) to "prorogue" Parliament, which effectively shuts down the voting/assembly part of the government. Since she was appointed by TurdGo, she agreed, and Parliament will not be in session until March 24th.
So this was a great first step, but will delay the election call as long as possible to enable his Liberal party to try to recover from the massive reputational losses TurdGo has caused.
So he was originally to be gone by next October, but will now be around until June....so it's better by a few summer months....
