You guys see the new food pyramid? Red meat and fats are now the foods you should eat and I couldn’t agree more. Look at the folks on carnivore. Fit, healthy and disease free. Maybe I should try it. I eat plenty of red meat (grilled ribeyes last night after the gym). I also just eat too much crap.

I did and I like it. It's basically what I do, sticking pretty much to the Mediterranean diet. The main thing is stay away from processed foods and sugar. The hardest thing for me is no pizza and Italian subs. I limit it though.

I'm mostly carnivore, and legit cheeses. My down fall is expensive sourdough bread, and chocolate. Both big no-nos.

Had bacon for breakfast, and having back strap for lunch. So far so good.
 
I am not sure what I do really.
I grow 90% of the veggies I eat. Grow then can/dehydrate/freeze/store.
I grow year round spring/summer/fall/winter.

I have 5 freezers at this point.
1 for beef. 1 for pig/chicken.
2 for veggies and 1 for misc.
I make what all bread I eat. Low carb gluten free .
Don't really follow a diet. Just try and eat my own food

I lost 40lbs on carnivore. I went off it for a little bit and gained 10lbs. I went right back on it. The American diet of processed foods, carbs and sugars is so f'n terrible.

It's probably criminal. It really needs to stop. Just take a look at our flour. It's not even food.

Pasta is a complex carbohydrate and not so bad but bread, potatoes, and rice will jack my blood sugar and it takes longer to come down.
I have a sensor that sticks in my arm and good for two weeks, connects to a app in my iPhone that gives me an instant blood sugar reading.
Game changer.
So I've switched my Chinese take-out from rice to Lo Mein.

we started growing spaghetti squash to use when craving pasta.
and we also when really craving the real stuff have pasta we shipped from Italy. Blood sugar of course spikes. But about 100 less. As in instead of hitting 300 from the **** we sell here to 200 for this stuff and it tastes better. Pasta from Italy is healthier.

The senser thing is a difference maker for type 2. Had no idea I was spiking so high after dinners. Only stuck myself in the morning or after noon.
Now I have a much better idea on what is going on throughout the night.
Shocked at how a few handfuls of nuts or eating broccoli before a protein helps stay low

Most of our food isn’t even food. Over processed garbage. There’s plenty of healthy Whole Foods available, but you can’t just throw it in the microwave, and for a lot of Americans, that’s problematic. Trading your health for convenience is wild.
 
Many ,many moons ago I’ll never forget my buddy telling the story of a drunken bar pickup and the cowboy position. This video relates. To hear him tell the story,you were on the ground in laughter. And he had no shame whatsoever.
Dear God. That’s horrible. I have a very similar story but thankfully it was number 1.
