The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

Meanwhile, Jim Acosta wrote a book, attended a book signing, and was overwhelmed by the response:

Okay, he may have been slightly whelmed ... literally, not a single customer, not one, in the pictures he posted on Twitter.

NOT.
ONE.

Yeah, he's the safe bet, the old fart still hanging around kissing babies (and anything else that moves). Sure, the country can do worse than Biden, but there's so much talent in the field, and the enthusiasm is obviously elsewhere, for other candidates. It'd be rather anticlimactic to have Biden be the guy. Ho hum. I think the general sentiment is whoever the **** it is, this time everyone will rally around the Dem candidate to rid the nation of the orange-faced parasite.

It's still early, very early. We'll see were the Dems are in a few months time.

I don't think the general sentiment is what you think it is.

Chuck Schumer - of all people - obliterates Trump on health care with this nifty reminder of broken promises.

Watching this video, my question is, if this was your local, small-town mayor, would you believe anything he told you? I mean anything at all?

This is a fair point. While Trump and Republicans are working to destroy the ACA, they really haven’t come out with anything viable to replace it. If Dems are smart, they hammer this home. Truth is, it’s all they have, but it is an important issue to a majority of Americans as evidenced by the mid terms. Where they fall down is Medicare for all, but it is at the very least a somewhat viable solution, something Republicans can’t seem to agree on. Ever.

I agree and am frustrated that Trump has been unable to get completely rid of Obamacare. Congress has been working against him.

Joe's rally was so massive that (D)ims had to move it ... from an auditorium to a hallway, to hide the tiny number of attendees.

For the frontrunner in the polls, Joe Biden wasn't able to attract a very impressive crowd for his campaign's kickoff rally. Speaking to a crowd of "hundreds" ...

I think it is more than simply getting rid of Obamacare. There are about 100 reasons why, but our health care system needs some work. For one, **** is way too expensive. People shouldn't be paying $32.50 for one aspirin in the hospital when you can get a whole bottle of aspirin at Wal-Mart for 3 or 4 bucks. Republicans have come out with some ideas in the past, but getting more than 30% to agree on any of it is a problem. Everyone has their own idea, and they seem unable or unwilling to get everyone in a room where this stuff can be hammered to where they can put a plan forward for a vote.

And to a lot of voters, not sure if it is a majority, but to a lot of voters, health care and health insurance is the most important issue they face. Democrats are at least attempting to address the issue, no matter how wrong or misguided folks might feel those attempts are. Republicans talk about fixing health care, but the only thing they have done is destroy the ACA. Doesn't matter if it is a **** law or not. All voters see is that they destroyed it and have offered nothing to replace it. Democrats are yapping about Medicare for all, which is probably more costly than the ACA, and I think people are aware of that. That said, they would rather have SOMETHING even if it is going to cost them more. I know a lot of people think optics are unimportant, but it matters to people that don't see you advocating for their well being.

Republicans have failed in that regard. They keep saying, "Well, vote for me and I will get something done, trust me." After that, they rarely address it. If Trump loses in 2020 and Republicans lose the senate, healthcare will be a big reason, if not THE reason why.

Here is what I learned as part of my job about 25 years ago. Hospitals don't charge what **** costs, and cannot do so, as they are required to provide a MASSIVE amount of free or underfunded health care. Medicare payments are a tiny fraction of what the care actually costs, often times even with supplemental plans. Hospitals also provide millions upon millions of dollars of free care to the uninsured, the majority of whom are illegals.

So the hospitals make the patients with good insurance pay the freight. The hospital actually budgets at the beginning of the year, and sets prices to achieve an income stream that will allow them to keep the doors open. That means charging "x" dollars for aspirin and "y" dollars for a blood test.

The theory of mandating health insurance was one designed to try and overcome those facts. But as is true with pretty much every government-run program, **** simply does not happen as anticipated and the unexpected costs overrun the projected benefits.

I've said before that the health care issue is the one issue liberals are winning on and the one issue a charismatic, moderate candidate could destroy Trump if he frames the problem/solutions in the right way. Bernie's "Medicare for All" plan is not it. Sounds WAY too socialist. And for some reason, all the other democratic candidates are falling into line behind the "medicare for all" plan.

As you said, the truth is there is no "fix". Both sides know it. There is no "fix" to make what people expect when they go to the doctor, what it really costs and what people are expecting to pay. Americans want it all, the best of the best, the Cadillac of health care systems, but we want to pay less than the ****** systems they have in Canada and Europe. Not sure there is a way to do that. And not one politician is willing to tell the people that simple truth.

Yeah fake polls don’t matter. We learned that in 2016. Neither do the lying fake news “experts.” Voter enthusiasm is a massive advantage for Trump. The lame *** Dim candidates should be ******** themselves watching this rally tonight.
