The playmaking skills of Burns.

burns reach and ability to play press looks like he is better suited for a zone attacking 3-4, Lake verified many times that if Jackson was ther he would of been the pick, perhaps Colbert and MT wanted Burns instead, it could be Lake wanted Jackson for his coaching system but b/c Colbert & MT love tall CB they went with Burns as thier was 0 hesisation in our draft war room to mover down or get on the phone as what thwy to do, it took them less than 2 minutes to give the card thhat we are taking Burns.

I liked Golden as the starter, and he played well, but he doesn't have the speed, or play making ability that Davis has.

Doesn't Davis know multiple languages, and posters were questioning his intelligence? The play book is learning a new language, and it appears to me that he is approaching fluency.

No hesitation in picking Burns, Davis or J. Wobble. A whole lot bitching about "why do they always have to run to the podium" happened at the time as I recall. Well, in this year's draft, I guess it's because their board dictated the picks they were going to make, they didn't feel a need to make a trade and drop down and get what they thought were lesser players and they were making the picks they did no matter what. So far it looks like the decision to "run to the podium" and take who they wanted is working out. I'll stress the "so far" part for anyone who might be butt-hurt that these three rookies are for the most part playing well.

I was looking up articles that attempted to find a correlation between the round and spot that a player was drafted and the probability of success or failure (bust). Interesting to me was that a player drafted in round 2, pick number 58 overall has about a 50% chance of ever becoming a starter. That's over their entire career. Davis is starting as a rookie, and while Golden has his limitations, it isn't like they just handed the job to either he or Burns. They made them earn it by showing improved knowledge of the playbook, calls, situational football and showing that improved knowledge in their play.

Did y'all know that Hargrave is actually older than Tuitt?

And, yes, thinking Davis needs to be as good as Bell is just ridiculous. Does every first rounder need to be on the same level as Ben and Polamalu in order to be a good pick?

Davis speaks English, French, Chinese ... and the language of pain. At least that's what opposing ball carriers feel as he flies into them with reckless abandon.

We nailed our first 3 draft picks. The guy who thought Troy's head was too big and who wanted to keep some nobody running back over Willie Parker is just providing comic relief as usual.

Who was this RB? Do tell

I'm trying to remember. When Fast Willie was a rookie, there was another rookie RB who had a couple TD runs in the preseason. Coach wanted to keep the other guy instead of Fast Willie even though the other RB's TD runs were complete garbage...he just ran through a huge hole untouched both times. Got it. His name was Dante Brown.

And Buckeye, not only did the Steelers run to the podium for the first 3 picks, but they ended up running to the podium for 3 rookie starters!

Bang-Bang-Bang Defense solidified.

Dante "Gale Sayers" Brown. I remember it now.

I'll bet Davis is not the Steeler rookie of the year. Since this board is for fun, how about Avatar rights and signature bet for 4 months?

Those who want to take this bet can PM me, I get to pick who I bet and I'm not betting a newbie.

What happened to the Eddie Lacy is better than LeVeon bell narrative you used to throw out?

I think it is awesome we finally have something to be excited about on defense. these guys are going to get better and better.
