The Steelers Are Legit Super Bowl Contenders

With Atlanta, Smith had washed up Matt Ryan, Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder at QB. That's why the offense didn't move. In Tenn, he took over the 24th ranked scoring offense. In his 2 seasons as OC 2019-2020, they ranked 10th and 4th in points scored.

Also, Derrick Henry averaged 5.1 and 5.4 per carry and had a 2000 yard rushing season. Those were the only 2 years Henry hit 5 ypc in Tenn. After Smith left, Henry's ypc were 4.4 or less in every other season until last year in Balt where the Lamar RPO game makes it easier.

Unlike Matt Canada, Arthur Smith has proven himself in the NFL. His system is similar to what McVey runs.

Broderick Jones is the big question mark. If he can just play at the Dan Moore level, this OL can be great. If Smith struggles, it could drag down the whole offense.

I didn't like the pick of Roman Wilson. At Michigan, he was pretty much a slot guy. Yes, they lined him up outside but he was off the line and they usually schemed him up to not get press coverage. He's good after the catch though.

Calvin Austin is better than people think.

I think WR2 will be more of a group effort. It will be a combo of Austin, Wilson, Robert Wood and Johnu Smith. They still have time to trade for a WR if they feel they need one.

Metcalf was worth the money. Steelers have plenty of cap space. They needed a WR1 that's a physical presence. Pickens showed he had zero interest in blocking or even running routes at full speed.

I wouldn't mind leaving 10$ on those odds

You’ll need someone to know where you are leaving the $10-spot, It should be me…………..(lunar would just spend it)

I figure the offense will struggle the first half of the season at best which predictably will give Tomlin cover to play attrition 16-15 ball every week with the team struggling to score 20 points most games. Lots of quick short passes again and runs on early downs.

I have them at 9-8 and that's beating the Ravens once, which is a stretch based on the last game. King Henry is going to eat, and Tomlin just isn't smart enough to script a game plan to stop him. But hey, maybe Henry is dinged up one of the games. Who knows.

That's our hope to win a playoff game this year, hope the other team's better players or QB is hurt

3rd and 2, sweep right pitching the ball back 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

OR

Bubble screen 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage with RB motion that direction (drawing more defenders into the area).

Seems to early to pick win - loss, don’t even know who is on the 53 for sure.

My “gut” ranges from 9-8 —to — 12-5. 10-7 seems the end case.

Slow start but at minimum they should be 3-2
Middle range needs 6-4
End season 0-2

Groundhog blow-out

Not enough Peyote for all in need………………….. (Fiji ordered a back-up supply so he’s OK, spiritually / physically / Hulucinigeticlly).

How freaking hard would it have been to fake this and have the QB bootleg option of run, pass to TE in flats or downhill to streaking WR on a post/go?

Remember that WTF playcall Haley did in the Jags playoff loss when he pitched to Bell on 3rd or 4th down and he ran into a wall of Jags defenders? Or that one in KC when Canada sent Najee East-West into the red wall of China and Canada looked stunned it didn't work?

Such is life under Shades.

That was the Jax playoff game here. 4th and 1 I think, Jax has everyone at the LOS, so we toss the ball 7 yards behind the LOS and to the short side of the field

I bet live you could see the trainwreck coming a mile away!

An X’s and O’s kind of coach would find this easy…………….. and

COMFORTABLE allowing the OC to make such a call.
