My goodness....how pussified has the league become??? Just play two hand touch on QB's and be done with it.

I hear ya and totally agree but this in not news anymore the NFL sucks as far as being a defense fan!!!! On another note the NFL is so worried about protection, did anyone see the nice fight in the Jet-Titian game???? Yeah a QB was punched, the benches empied and A titian player(casey) was landing several punches while on the ground.......oh yeah no ejections!!!!!!!

I heard on the radio that the league already stated Worilds will not be fined for the hit. We will see I guess.

Worst. Call. Ever.

If we had lost this game today because of that free 7 points, I literally might have given up on the NFL. It's awful what this game has become.

I swear, if I was a defender and I had a clean shot, just kill the guy, break his leg, take the most illegal shot you can imagine. It's all the same anyhow.

I DVR'd the game for the wife since she had a concert. She watching the game right now (I'm rewatching), that play just happened, and she's sitting next to me on the couch screaming "That's bullshit!!! That's bullshit!!!"
LOL

It was pretty clear at full speed that it was a clean hit. This was way different than the hit on Ben by upshaw earlier, he lead with the crown of his helmet, did they ever say what Worilds did wrong?

Just that it was roughing the QB.

Just go ahead and put the QBs into a giant airbag bulletproof uniform and place shock detectors all over their bodies. If anyone touches their pinky toe then give the other team 20 points......unless it is Ben of course.

I honestly cannot find anything at all wrong with the hit, wtf....I would love to hear an explanation for the league.

It was a wrong call but at full speed the ref saw it other wise. I'm just glad it didn't cost us the game.

Also...the funniest part of it is that Worilds didn't even get credit for the sack.

The only one I can think of as egregious as this one is a few years back when one of our guys brushed his hand on Drew Brees' leg as he was falling down. That game was in Pittsburgh if I recall correctly.

Like watching flag football.

He was unblocked so he doesn't get credit for it anyways, at least here.

Aaron Smith.

I saw Brady get his shoe laces touched once and then begged and got a flag. Seriously, the defender was lying on the ground and brushed against his foot. It was against the Bills a few years back.

I said exactly the same thing about the foul. Then had to correct (Luckett Screwing up the Thanksgiving '98 coin toss was the ultimate) Then I thought exactly what you did. If your gonna get penalized for that, might as well earm the 15 yarder.

Textbook tackle. I swear if I were LeBeau or Tomlin, and that game got out of hand (which it didn't) I wouldve instructed the defender who gets to the QB to intentionally touch him with 2 hands and then make signal the ball dead like a ref.

That was such BS.

The product is painful to watch all around. That play alone pretty much ruined the rest of the game for me. Any time they get a solid hit on someone even when it's textbook. They either get flagged or they're looking around for one.We have very few actual hits now because of it.

It stinks regardless of which team they call it on. If they are going to legislate tackling the QB out of the game, get it over with and put the rule in that they're down on contact. It sounds ridiculous, but I see multiple calls that are bullshit against various teams every Sunday, not just the Steelers and the game is becoming nearly unwatchable.

brady thought that was a ***** call....that is how bad it was

A fantastic example of why I can no longer get too excited over a football game. I can't bring myself to be emotionally invested in a game that has willingly turned itself into that, let alone consider buying any more merchandise or tickets.

If they are going to penalize teams for lost challenges, why not make just about anything challengable? They don't want the refs undermined, but it would be better than the fall-out of a ref costing a team a game with a bad call.

To think this league promotes the Bears defense of '85.

That defense knocked out of games something like 7 starting quarterbacks that year.

It's sad because any hit that LOOKS violent gets a flag. It doesn't matter where it is or how it happened or what hit what. If the QB snaps his head or looks hurt or wallows on the ground in pain, the flag is coming. The ref's are just instructed to make **** up to justify it. Close to the head, too low on the legs, slammed him to the ground, landed in him "hard". They have so many outs and excuses to legitimize any and all roughing calls on ***** quarterbacks these days it really has come down to a simple truth:

You can't hit the quarterback hard anymore. You actually have to pull up if you get too clean a shot to make the referees happy. You literally have to "gently" tackle them.

What I see week to week has nothing to do with WHERE or HOW the hit happens anymore. It's just a matter of hard hits get called. Period.
