The Worilds Personal Foul

I don't know if I'd go so far as every penalty call. Games could end up being 5 hours long. But, personal fouls and P.I. calls (anything besides taunting) that leads to a 15 yard penalty should be reviewed. College game has a nice system with the Targeting calls and I actually saw some of those overturned this year. So, for the NFL to say it's not feasible to add things like roughing the passer, defensive pass interference, hits to a defenseless receiver and crown of the helmet (spearing) to the list of reviewable or automatically reviewed plays is a farce.

I've been far more impressed with the college ref's this year in the games I've seen. As well, they still let players hit opposing players!!

WHy dont they just call it for what they saw it as..."Personal foul...hard hit on the Quarterback.......#93, 15 yards...........Ohh.btw, we do reserve the option to impose a make-up call somewhere during future gameplay, so to the fans watching, dont ***** too much...your teams reward is coming, soon"

Didnt Harrison a few yrs ago get a flag for throwing the QB to the ground in a menacing fashion or something crazy like that?

Harrison, Keisel and Smith suplexed Vince Young:

Those were the days, when 3 defenders could meet at the QB in 3.5sec...

That hit, which was clean (no helmet to helmet, below the neck, etc.) on the part of all three Steelers, was one of the last "football as we know it" hits. I remember that Harrison was fined for the hit, not sure about Keisel and Smith. It was a beeeeuuuuuuutiful football play .... and it was fined. A trend that carries on to this day with the Worild's hit on Ryan and the infamous "hitting the Quarterback in the chest" call in the SF/SEA game. SMH ... I sure miss Paul Tagliabue

I think James was the only one fined if my memory is correct and I never did understand how you could attribute a fine to one guy in that situation, which was a good tackle anyway. Let me just add this to everyone of these bogus calls Bite me Roger you completely useless piece of **** with no redeeming qualities at all!

Let's say every disputable penalty call, then. The procedural stuff wouldn't need much review. There's plenty of phantom holding calls every week across the NFL, too. The games don't need to last five hours, just to be officiated more efficiently. If the correct call takes a minute or two to be made, on or off the field, I'm all for it.

want to vent? Vent on the ref in question who is an ambulance chasing ex Qb lawyer from Nebraska.

Well that says all i need to know. Good ******* grief a sue everyone for any and everything guy.Awesome! Attorneys officiating sports is horrible in my opinion.Too much money being involved with too many rules has really turned a great game into crap.

Just get the Velcro flag belts out now.

Quick Bing search shows NFL officials getting between 25 and 70 K a year. For working one day a week although I'm sure much more actual time is required. Why does the NFL not employ full time officials? Say 100K a year plus expenses. They certainly have the revenue and as a full time job there would be very little room for excuses or many or repeated bad calls (unless they unionize).

If it would have been James Harrison would the NFL have looked at it differently?

Yeah, they would have asked the Atlanta Police Department to arrest him for assault. Then fined him $100K.

Glad you noticed, this game of NFL Football, has been crap for quite some time. I agree with you, the "rog" has sunken a very worthy vesswel.

Had it been James Harrison, the whistle would have blown avout an hr before the play, he'd been fined, suspended 2-games, out of the league, all before the play even happened!!!!!!!
