The Worilds Personal Foul

At least the announcers of the Seattle/San Fran game had the ******* guts and honesty to say that was a horrible call and a joke. The announcers of this game were chicken **** and pretended it wasn't a bad call. Company line spouting *******.

Let's be honest, Worilds got penalized for hitting Ryan too hard. Period. They saw him slam the ground and his head whipped back and hit the turf. The refs "head injury lawsuit" monitors lit up and they threw the flag, pure and simple.

If that call will be status quo in this league, then this league is in trouble.

I hope it eventually becomes trouble enough to create an enormous public backlash and a PR nightmare that causes them to loosen up but I doubt it. Things like that don't go back to how they used to be unless someone is on the verge of bankruptcy. That's too much to hope for but I still do hope.

The league needs to start fining the refs! Throw the flag, discuss it and still get it that wrong? Just awful

The problem is that people like you cannot see the forest through the trees in that the NFL has to take the actions it has taken because the game is slowly, but surely under attack by the liberal/pacifist retards in academia and journalism.

The game we have loved is under attack by the broader political/social climate we live in, and the NFL has no choice but to confine to it.

I still do not understand the NFL at all. Back when they had the chance they should have taken a stand against the former players. Call me heartless but damn, why would the NFL be responsible for long term health of past employees? The players are well compensated and even the dumbest players know that their career can end on any play.

As for the liberal hippie lawyers, go ruin something else and leave the NFL alone please.

That was the biggest bullshit call I've seen in a long time. That was literally a text book tackle, the perfect form you are taught since pee wee football. It should be used during rookie symposium to show the proper way to tackle. I'm tired of lazy *** refs ruining football, EVERY DAMN THING should be reviewable!!

Somone on Mike and Mike claimed that Hochuli was reaching for a flag before the hit in the SF - SEA game.

Trent Green is an awful football analyst

Somone on Mike and Mike claimed that Hochuli was reaching for a flag before the hit in the SF - SEA game.

I saw that hit, and it was clean. That call was worse than the one on us, IMHO. It's crazy.

It's really the judges fault for even hearing such cases, things that are obvious are allowed to be lawsuits. Such as the "coffee being hot" and not having a label warning about the coffee being hot. The players know the risks when they play a physical and violent sport, yet judges allow cases like this all the time. Allowing idiots who say "because I wasn't told or warned so I should be compensated", in the court is the judges faults, the lawyers are simply doing what they get paid to do, win their clients case. Our courts suck, and they allow any ridiculous lawsuit these days. You know our country states "ignorance of the law, doesn't free you of the law", yet ignorance is being allowed to run free by liberal judges, thats the problem.

Would love to see a team get "experimental" with pushing the boundaries in this pussifued league. Something like a 2nd and less than 1 situation deep inside the opponents 30 to set the tone. All 11 players get in the best shot they can on the same play. If you have to use 1 deep CF safety tackle every WR right at the line and blitz everyone else and absolutely destroy the QB in every way possible. Scene right out of a prison football movie. The Raiders would be a good candidate to send this message to Rog

What message would it send? Bunch of dumb ***** getting flagged. It's going to take much more than this to even get anyone to notice. You'd see high light for about two minutes, cause the media is controled by NFL. Sorry, won't accmplish your out come. I hear yaz though....

Salute the nation

Worlids hit Ryan between the neck and waist with his head up. The ******* promotional campaign is head up, see what you hit. Worlids did it to a T. His facemask hit Ryan instead of his head. The referee couldn't see the helmet contact since he threw the flag from behind the QB.

We are now in a situation where the misinterpretation of the rules are starting to determine the outcome of games. I think every penalty should be reviewed by the instant replay refs. This way they can buzz down before the next play starts to let the refs know, you mis called that one. It would be too convoluted to allow the coaches to review it. Keep the scrutiny on the refs by the refs and have them hold themselves accountable.

I honestly think that call and AB's double PF (When AB should have earned a call for being hit late when he was down) kept that game close. Without those calls, this game would have been a blowout.

In fairness, the Tuck Rule call was the worst call ever. But this one today is the worst I have seen this year

To be fair, the call was spot on, the rule was terrible.

Drew Stanton had a defender go low and got knocked out of the game. Worilds went for the chest and it's roughing the passer? What is a good hit anymore hitting a QB? The defense is trying to get to the QB as quick as they can, while making the perfect tackle/hit in the NFL's eyes. All in a split second, at full game speed. I'm not trying to be funny. What is acceptable now? He didn't leave his feet to launch into Ryan, didn't hit him in the helmet or used the crown. It has to be frustrating for the defenses around the league where it's getting tough enough to stop the high scoring, passing league, let alone getting flagged on every other play.

Here is something that some of you may have noticed that made be livid after the game. As the game was going off the air and the announcers were saying their goodbyes, a montage of highlights play in the background.

What was one of the highlighted plays?

Worlid's hit on Ryan...

Now this is sending mixed messages and asserting a double standard. Now it was a legal hit and should be replayed, it was called a penalty in the game. And where does the NFL get off on showing a replay of a penalty or "illegal hit" as a game closing highlight.

YOU CAN'T DO THAT MR WORLIDS, BUT WE'RE STILL ALLOWED TO PROFIT FROM THE HIT!

I call bullshit.

my boss and i were just discussing this.
he said that the flag was for Worilds "launching" himself. which you can see on the video.

Nothing new there. Hell, on NFL.com they were selling pictures of Harrison's hit on Massaquoi after fining him $75k.

Mike Pereira ✔ @MikePereira

It was close - but not a penalty in ATL. not a crown of the helmet hit.

I thought that a possibility, but, in every instance I have seen of that call, the referee said that in the explanation. I can't remember all of the details of those calls, of course, but I am pretty sure the QB had already thrown the ball for most of them.

Even if you do the tackle correctly, you can have the QB's head whip forward and bump your helmet or natural physics takes over where you slide up slightly after the initial good hit, causing your helmet to hit the QB facemask. Even that didn't happen with the Worilds hit.

I DVR'd the game for the wife since she had a concert. She watching the game right now (I'm rewatching), that play just happened, and she's sitting next to me on the couch screaming "That's bullshit!!! That's bullshit!!!"
LOL

This same opinion was expressed by every fan near me, no matter which team they were rooting for.

WHy dont they just call it for what they saw it as..."Personal foul...hard hit on the Quarterback.......#93, 15 yards...........Ohh.btw, we do reserve the option to impose a make-up call somewhere during future gameplay, so to the fans watching, dont ***** too much...your teams reward is coming, soon"
