First let me say that I have been reading this board for over 20 years. I'm quiet, and just like to get other views. I remember the F1 forum, the days of Diamond Dave, Hank, Tres Rios, TMC, CAH(God rest her soul) I've enjoyed reading, but want to start contributing.

I know I'm not saying anything that probably wasn't already said, but I just can't remember such a bad overall team. I mean I lived through the Kordell years. Kent Graham for God's sake! For all the crap we have experienced as fans I don't ever remember such bad line play, such terrible tackling, and overall effort at times. Everyone points to Tomlin, and I am the first to say I am not a fan of his, but it has to be more than that. I still don't know how they have won 7 games.

So how does it get fixed? Obviously clearing out the coaching staff would be nice, but we all know Tomlin will be here if he wants to be.

  • The first two picks this draft have to go to the offensive line, they just have to.
  • After that it will be pretty much best available, as we need depth just about everywhere.
  • As much as I have loved Ben over the years, his time will be up. We have to find a veteran QB that can bridge the gap until we find our guy.
  • I would resign JuJu as he is our best WR, and certainly our best 3rd down option.
  • I would see what we can get for Claypool. I know he has talent, but he isn't worth the headache.
Please add to the list. I like to hear what other fans think.

If Mike Tomlin remains coach, nothing changes. NOTHING. The team will continue to be undisciplined, with a terrible running game, a patchwork offensive line, soft, running the same garbage that does not work, a minimum 2 failed WR screens every week, better suited to be pillow salesmen than NFL players.

Why the hell should the players feel like they are to blame? The HC never admits he is to blame for the monotonously horrid play.

I wouldn't give up on Claypool yet. Tons of talent but needs to think and act professional. Today he made back to back impressive catches and no showboating. Possibly he's turned the corner. Definitely on a short leash though.

Don't you ever refer to the yester year of this board without mentioning my name. Now carry on...

The few times they have thrown to Claypool has 4 targets to this point, 3 receptions and a PI, personally I think he is without a doubt the #1 receiver, Johnson may run perfect routes but is prone to fumble and fall to the ground as demolition approaches (which is frequent). JuJu is a poor role model worried about his social brand, although lovable inciting other teams does not show maturity or the ability to be a role model or team leader. I can not believe that fan want to give up a 6'4" receiver that lays his body out for punishment like Claypool, after circus catches today it appear Chase has learned his lesson even after amazing catches.

At some point the head coach needs to impress on the players what the expectation is. The Steeler Way was a Chuck Noll expectation, Coach Cowher adjusted this a bit and Coach Tomlin has adjusted it quite a lot. All you have to do is listen to the older alumni and they voice the changes as they see them.

Granted it is a different generation but Coach Belichick manages to bend players to his will, I surmise this may be a reason for Mr. Brady's early exit...choices "my way" or the highway. Mr. Brady walks his own path. A team philosophy/belief is essential.

Worst coached team and a team that needs a lot of help with the big uglies on both sides of the ball. I would actually say our 1st pick should be the DL and 2nd pick on the OL. Both Moore and Green will be significantly better next year. Chuks has to go or be a backup. I still believe Tuitt is gone and Alualu may not be fully healthy to start the season. So, even with the draft, they need a FA starter on the DL and OL along with LB help and secondary help. The list of needs is long but it still has to start with both lines and the DL is definitely the top priority. Watching Vae play for Tampa makes me believe a 3 down NT is still a must. Vae stops the run and can rush the passer. The dude from GA is the closest thing but he needs a couple years to become more than a 2 down player.

Worst team I've watched in my lifetime. I'll come back after the game for additional comments.

Game's been over for about two hours now, man.

This is definitely the worst overall Steelers team I can remember watching.

The pass rush is about the only thing worth a damn, and even it totally disappears when Watt isn't close to 100%, which is the case today.

To me, the most frustrating aspect of all this is that the Steelers seem to completely entrust Tomlin to turn this around.

I honestly have no ******* clue what they've seen over the past four or five years that leads them to believe he's capable of doing it.

Case in point, the Steelers ranked near the bottom of league in rushing in 2018 and have continued to do so every year since.

It's been a downward spiral for awhile now, with last year's 11-0 start being a brief break from reality.

I don't think they have to force the top two picks for the offensive line. They need at least one quality lineman in free agency and one in the draft. Green is atrocious at center and is closer to being a bust than he is as a center. I would aggressively pursue a center and hope he can cut it at right guard. Sign a tackle and let Moore battle it out at either the left or right side.

We need to sign a veteran CB. There is a lot of talent in the draft, but can they develop them?

What defines a veteran QB? The market is bare and I don't see them making a blockbuster trade.

I'd sign JuJu because he should be affordable, but they really need a true speed option. This would be another area to target in free agency or the draft. I am not moving on from Claypool.

I think we will see as close to cleaning house with the coaching staff as you can here. Canada should be gone and probably additional offensive assistants. You just can't not score a first half touchdown in five straight games (and counting) and simply blame it on your personnel (which is poor). Butler, even though there are a ton of injuries on defense, may go. I'd expect Austin to step in.

The defensive line needs depth and I'd look for another Alualu type signing.

To answer your question for some of these newer people. I joined this board in the mid 1990s under the name of 4RINGS. As you can see, I have picked up some jewelry along the way.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't see any additional name changes in your future.

For you guys who want to keep Claypool. I understand he has talent, but he is never on his feet. His balance is not good. He can make some great catches and draws interference, but really lacks maturity. At least with JuJu his production is pretty consistent. If I can get a 3rd round pick for Claypool I take it.

I've been here since day one **** maybe it was day two anyways I don't remember any of you ********. **** I hope I aint getting that old timers disease. the only one I remember is this dude named Buff and thats just cause he had his own club. It had Purtie girls in it..
