This is uncharted territory for me

We were extremely active in the FA market. Very unlike us. What did all that do? Anyone want to research the results of these guys?

I won't.

It got us to where we are today, Miles Jack seems to be the real deal, Danials OL seems OK as well. Still have same coach and we still seem to be in the same tank of treading water but not getting anywhere.

I'm not worried or disappointed. They are who we thought they are and we let 'em off the hook.
They did get off to a worse start than I expected but then Watt is out.
Next three games the only one they might win is Miami.
I like making predictions and being right, I also like looking smarter than the Steelers FO. It's my hobby.
I still think Shades will pull some magic out of *** and go 8-8-1. But then 1-16 isn't out of the realm of possibility either.

I am not looking forward to it, but I think this may be a case of them having to get pretty bad for a year or two to turn it around. You just have to hope it doesn't become a more long term thing. The Steelers went into that '80s funk, it took a little, but they finally got bad enough to get that '87 draft headed by Rod Woodson that helped pull them out after a while. Of course we know they got low enough after '03 for Ben and the results of that. It is kind of impressive that they have remained competitive for as long as they have without getting lower more often.

I just hope they have someone other than Mike Tomlin trying to lead them out of this. Again, I like the guy, this isn't a rip Tomlin rant. But the results are not good. They need to move on.

I live in my fears.

Can this season be salvaged............ YES but it will take more than the team / coachs' / FO is willing to give.

I just hope they don't embarrass the Franchise any more than already done. Also can we see a reverse trend on the culture amongst the team ?

Jack has been good. the line is getting noticeably better, when used right. Kazee may help when healthy and Wallace has been decent. We got better. The only real bust has been Gunner.

At some point you have to hit the bottom to get back to the top. Endless drafts in the bottom half make it hard, not impossible, but hard to keep up. We have done better than most with low picks but we need to restock.
You really aught to be PISSED.

1. Looks like the Pickett kid is the real deal.
2. Muth has been an utterly dependable & open safety-valve.
3. Najee has made the most an athlete can of having no running room.
4. And Pickens shows every flash of being a lethal threat.

It's not like the OL this year is as bad as it was last.

What the f*ck more do you need? Some Coaches need to pack their bags soon if they will not change. This is some ridiculous ****.

Put it this way. There will be no real growth towards where we all want this team to go until.Tomlin is replaced and no one can guarentee the first replacement will be the guy. All I know is like a 9-7 next year is worst case scenario. That will keep him around for another 2 or 3.

Why am I supposed to be pissed? Najee has not made the most it. He has been unable to hit some gaping holes. He should be sitting getting healthy. The rest is great. We just need a real OC. Not sure I get your point.

I still believe our talent levels haven't been as high as Yinzers want to believe and that we have done more than we should with the talent we have had not less. How many guys have left and gone on to do better than they did here? Not many. Maybe we put too much stock in our talent and discount the idea that maybe just maybe Tomlin has been an over achiever not an under achiever.
Wow, what a ridiculous statement. The only time Tomlin achieved anything, it was mostly with somebody else's players. The last five years, he's done nothing except get embarrassed three times in the playoffs. How 'bout this year? Tomlin is still overachieving, in your eyes?
Maybe another coach wouldn't have had the chance to lose those playoff games as they wouldn't have been on the playoffs at all. We certainly were not supposed to make them the last couple of years based on the pundits.
Actually, the 2020 Steelers had a preseason over/under win total of 9.5, and had the 11th highest odds to win the Super Bowl. So they were expected to be a playoff team.
I do believe some coaches need to go and that Mike needs to put more trust in the ones he keeps to run things without his finger on the scale. I don't want want Tomlin fired, I like our legacy of not firing head coaches but I would be ok if he decided to retire soon. I would also be fine with him staying if he gets a better core of coaches. He made a good move with Flores so it is a hopeful start.
Yeah, it's always the fault of his "core" of coaches. Couldn't be his. Who's in charge of hiring that corps?

1-4 and coming off of their worst loss in 33 years...it must be quite an inglorious time to be a Tomlin nuthugger like you.

Not as long as Tomlin is here. He's had 16 years to build "his" team and staff and this is what we have.
His ego is too big to ever change anything he does.

I'm right here as well. We all know how we got here and until the root problem is addressed, there will be no change.

There is no guarantee that a new coach will instantly be better, but also there is no guarantee that a new coach will be worse either.

All I, and most others know is that it is time for a change.

He's incredible, right? Like telling someone on a nice sunny day, "wow, just look at the beautiful blue sky", and they respond with, "actually no, the sky is green"

Or as his hero might put it:

Obviously, we recognize that the color of the sky can vary, environmentally, in the stadiums in which we get paid to play. We're professionals, man. I'm not going to get into whether the sky is blue or green, we've just got to execute better.

I just had peppered bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. I didnt realize my kid had left early for week so I ate her bacon also. today is going to be a great day.

I Actually had a Yellow summer squash (fresh from garden, last of the last scraggler before frost) diced into my eggs.

You're right BLITZ, a hell of a day.

I am incredible just ask my wife, thank you for noticing. I firmly stand by my sentiment that we constantly as fans feel our talent is better than it truly is, which is natural. In some cases by a lot. Ridicule me all you want but while Tomlin is fa from perfect I truly believe he is a better coach in some areas than many of yinz think. Particularly in getting the most out of certain players like a Bell or Brown. His biggest fault is his stubbornness. I would be ok with a change if he retires but I don't want to see him fired. I think he has earned the chance to try and do a rebuild if he wants to. We kept Noll around well past his prime years.

29 this past Saturday. 33 Sunday and Monday. but the days get up to the 70s. no frost in sight. might get a couple weeks of picking. my garden slows down as the Steelers season heats up

We have already discusded this, If Tomlin had put his ego down and hired good coordinators and let them do their freaking job he would be a total genius. He's good with handling players egos, keeping a tight ship and being a leader of men. But his x & o's ? They suck and the worst part is that the playbook has his "knowledge" written all over it.
