Hard to know where to start. Just a mess from top to bottom. Offense is inept, defense is average at best, special teams is special. I don't know how anyone looks at this and thinks this team has any chance at success any time in the near future.

Bringing Ben back was obviously a mistake. In this offense with this coaching staff, I can't imagine what they thought would happen. Ben has been fantastic over his career. No denying that. Is he our best option? I don't know. If he is, the Steelers aren't going to win much. And for those calling for Rudolph, you realize he is going to have to run the same stupid, putrid, pathetic offense, right? I honestly don't think Patrick Mahomes could make a difference with the same play calls.

The defensive aggression that beat Buffalo vanished into thin air after week one. They are playing a lot of zone, soft and timid. It's a head scratcher.

****. I have so many thoughts running through my head, I can't even relay them all. Just a disaster. What else do you call it?

Typical Tomlin game plan, try not to lose. He has NEVER had a game plan that involved attacking and playing to win.
While true, how in the world is THIS offense suppose to attack anyone?

The line is the worst of any team I've watched this year, receiving corps is average, and the defense is living on last year's regular season reputation. The entire team is rotting from the head down and Ben's no longer able to cover up the inadequacies of the coaching staff. Without a roster full of first round talent, Butler and Tomlin's shortcomings are on full display and I have no idea what the hell Canada's philosophy is supposed to be. There's nothing about this team's play that evokes any kind of optimism.

Ben is a big part of the problem as well. Accept it.

I thought at moments the line showed some life today. This game turned on a terrible call on the blocked kick. If Ben puts just a little air under those two throws to JuJu those are both TD's. Without Tuitt or Alualu we are too young and inexperienced on the line and that hurt us up the middle. Defense made some plays and were facing a AR. If the offense gets out of it's own way the defense looks a bit better. Najee had his best game. I am not going to get worked up this year. If we win great but if not we have some pieces for the future and get a better pick.

Is it Ben physically or mentally, realizing that he isn't twenty something anymore? Obviously he isn't as mobile as he once was, but he has to be mentally spazzing behind this o-line, knowing with almost certainty he will be hit on every passing play.

Where the **** did I say he wasn't?
My bad.

"Ben's no longer able to cover up the inadequacies of the coaching staff" didn't sound like a real condemnation to me.

Insert Partick Mahomes with this line and you could exchange his name for Ben's.
An asinine statement. You related to Ben, or something?

Ben is just not playing good, obviously. The offense, as a whole, is a cluster. The defense and particularly the secondary looks lost. They couldn't cover a wet dream and don't know how to look for the ball. The playcalling, holy cripes. Predictable and just bad execution. It's embarrassing when they go for it on 4th down. Just have Harvin punt it 25-30 yards and be done with it.
Was last week worse than this game? Not sure, but they are getting torched. Looking at Ju Ju today, I think he may be questioning his decision with coming back. He is not a happy guy and for good reason. Rodgers or Brady would not have missed him twice today when he was wide open.

Losing record. Bottom dweller 20221

To be fair, Mahomes, Russel and some other really good QBs have played behind bad lines and good play calling was used to protect the lines (along with the talent of the QBs). Our QB is a little old and off and our coaching {head and O coordinator) legit have no idea how to do coach or protect our weaknesses. Every team has weaknesses. The coaches role is to protect weakness and maximize strength. In the Burg our coaches don't do that ... but they have a lot of great cliches.
