Time to offer Munch the HC job

They can. If Tomlin has the balls to fire Canada.

AND

Who would you have replace him???

I agree O’Canada is a huge problem but not the whole problem. Unfortunately this offense has been installed and would be very hard to start anew, mid-season. One could slowly install some new plays and maybe by season end have something reputable.

Firing O’Canada would be the right start, then bring in a temporary someone to work with whom they promote (temporary)from with-in. End of season, you bring in HUGE modern offensive minded coordinator.

Let Dan come in and see what he could do for a year. I don’t think he would make a good offensive coordinator, but he could have fun for the rest of this season.

For real. At this point even the blind eye Tomlin supporters cannot still support him Can they ?
What possible explanation would you come up with ?

Some fans (not me) like that he manages to put the team in position to have winning seasons and that drives it home for them over playoff wins and championship opportunities.

I still think he has some blind eye supporters.🧐

Question 1: YES, unfortunately his name is Art the Deuce and his opinion is all that matters

Question 2: The standard is the standard, Pittsburgh has only had 3 head coaches since Woodstock, blah, blah, blah. You know all the normal bullshit that gets spewn…..

I’m sure there are the die hard Tomlin supporters out there but they are being very quiet about it.
From my perspective it’s been slowly going downhill little by little every season after the last SB appearance. As the Arians, Lebeaus, and Munchacks have departed and Tomlin has ushered in his coaches. You could see the steady decline. As the SB era players retired and the new guys came in and we did have some major talent come in, the aura about the team seemed to change.
I’ll say it once more…. I totally agree with what Terry Bradshaw said back in I think 2016 that Tomlin is nothing more than a chest bumping cheerleader. I think Ben kept his head above water, franchise QBs can do that.
Tomlin did some good things but let’s face it, any of the other 31 teams he would have been long gone.
Tomlin is never on the hot seat and has been made to feel far too comfortable and we know what that breeds…. Complacency, arrogance, stubbornness knowing you’re safe. It’s all gotten too stale and it should be addressed but I don’t think Art quite sees it yet. Who knows what his threshold level is.
I’m done ranting!

I think it's time to move on. However, the fact that every thread here becomes a "Fire Tomlin" thread and that there are new threads opened up every day repeating the same stuff ... well, the perverse side of me would like to see him turn this **** around this year (not happening) and then move on. I could just imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Tomlin is heading towards 4 years with a playoff win in 17 seasons coached and likely a 7th straight year without a playoff win. The last three playoff wins have been against Matt Moore, Alex Smith, and AJ McCarron. Three of their playoff losses over the years have been to Hall of Fame caliber talent such as Baker Mayfield, Blake Bortles, and Tim Tebow.

Seriously though, less than a playoff win every four seasons is pathetic for this franchise.

Years 1-5:
4 playoff appearances
Won a game in 2/4 appearances
5-3 playoff record
4 double digit win regular seasons

Years 6-10:
3 playoff appearances
Won a game in 2/3 appearances
3-3 playoff record
3 double digit win seasons

Years 11-15:
3 playoff appearances
Did not win a playoff game
0-3 playoff record
2 double digit win seasons

Year 16:
Did not make the playoffs, will likely be the same in Year 17 as well given the current state of the team.
Currently 0 double digit win seasons

I love that the other side of the conversation is now legit. It's only about 10-12 years late. Any quality coaching staff would have seen Ben with a few more rings

Glad you’re back.

I have this very little voice in my head that says……. If he does pull it out and do good, then the team is better for that. That is something I always root for regardless of player / coach / owner / front office / etc…..

As far as support him, agree with how he is handling things………… hell NO. I’ve been saying for over 10-12 years he is not a good coach. YES, he has had some episodes to suck one back into thinking he might have turned the corner, but then just to find out same **** different season and MULTIPLE excuses.

NOW it has finally come to the bottom of the bottom perfect storm of no HOT SEAT, NO accountability, excuses.

If he turned it around and started winning playoff games? I would cheer him on loudly like no other. I love that he has turned some seasons around. He has nothing to be ashamed of. He did us well early. Like you said just time to move on.

Fans venom is just from two embarrassing views. This team I feel is underperforming. Tomlin's team so Mike gets to wear the ribbon.

The concerns and issues from 5+ years ago are in some ways the same as they are now and in other ways worse.

Look what Cowher did in just two years with BEN. HellA, add in the third and you still have a pretty good average.

if he gives any ***** about his street credit, he's gonna have to kill someone.

Shades is a proud and stubborn man and I’m sure he hears the talk that he won his SB with Cowher’s team (true) and I’m sure he’s resolved to be here as long as it takes to prove that he can win a SB with HIS team. Except if he could, it would have happened already. There is NO amount of money TV could pay to pry him away from his job. The only way he leaves is if Deuce doesn’t give him another contract or if Mrs. Shades knocks him upside the head with a frying pan and says you take that TV money.

As long as she has her time consuming clothing line I think she is ok with his long hours. I don't think it will be the wife that makes Mike step away. Have to be Rooney. (which dramatically lessens the odds).

I was watching various Steelers podcasts on YouTube this morning regarding the upcoming Rats game, the blunders of the Texas game, etc, and the anger and frustration of the hosts were on a level I would've never thought possible from diehard fans doing a podcast. Yet, here we are. It might actually be possible that we hear "Fire Tomlin" along with the "Fire Canada" chants already happening if the home game against the Rats go south.

Looking at the potential coaching candidates I would probably offer the Job to Kellen Moore. He took a :poop: Cowboys offense all the way to #1 and now has the Ekeler-less chargers to #7 so far. Young guy at 35 and had a nice little career as a backup after going undrafted. After he was done playing went straight to QB coach in 2018 and is said to be a big reason for the development of Dak Prescott. Could be a good situation for Kenny Pickett to get that level of coaching if he is going to start heading in an upward trajectory. Question is would he want to come here? He had a good thing going in Dallas but decided to move West for what was thought to be the best thing for him. Coming to an organization ran by the accountant in chief in Art the Deuce might not be appealing.

Local sports talk radio reporting that this is the first time in forever that the Steelers have been home dogs in three straight games.
