In my opinion, this piece makes sense.

Time to Say ‘Au Revoir’ to Paris Climate Deal

President Donald Trump will soon issue an executive order calling on the Environmental Protection Agency to rescind the Clean Power Plan, a key component of the Obama administration’s Paris climate agreement.

Reports have also surfaced that top officials in the Trump administration are divided on whether to pull out of the Paris protocol.

Trump should keep his campaign promise and withdraw, not just from Paris, but from the entire United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
A common argument for the U.S. to remain in the Paris protocol is that the U.S. must show leadership on climate change. But committing to Paris is merely leading on what not to do.

The high price tag of Paris will generate meaningless climate benefits. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change projects that the Paris Agreement will avert a mere 0.2 degrees Celsius warming by the year 2100.

Additionally, it’s a fool’s errand to bank on emissions cuts from rapidly developing countries who want to increase their standards of living and that have more pressing environmental concerns to address than cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

The best way for the U.S. to lead is to promote policies that increase economic freedom, which will in turn increase health and wealth and provide citizens around the world with more resources to adapt to a changing climate.

Some reports suggested withdrawing from the entire framework could be tricky legally and may require Senate ratification, since the Senate ratified the U.N. framework.

But precedent exists for presidents withdrawing from treaties without Senate approval. As Climate Central reports:

n 1992, President George W. Bush withdrew the U.S. from an anti-ballistic missile treaty that the Senate had ratified in 1972 without seeking the Senate’s approval. After President [Jimmy] Carter withdrew from a defense treaty with Taiwan, the Supreme Court refused to hear a challenge filed by members of Congress.

The clearest and most aggressive pathway out of Paris is to withdraw from the U.N. framework.

On the campaign trail, candidate Trump vowed to “cancel” the Paris climate change agreement that commits America to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and as president-elect, he said he was keeping an “open mind” about it.

Now as president, he’s largely left us with radio silence and speculation. It’s time to end that speculation.

I have always wondered how to spell that

I read this looking over and over for where TIME Magazine was calling for us to say goodbye to the Paris Climate Deal. I kept thinking, "what a watershed moment, TIME Magazine is now asking for us to leave this?!"

Doh.

Obama administration neglected priorities to focus on climate change, new EPA chief says

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt on Saturday said the Obama administration neglected would-be department priorities to pursue a climate change agenda and hinted that a rollback of some regulations could be announced as soon as next week.

“I wanted to send a message to those at the agency — there are some very important things that the EPA does for this country,” Mr. Pruitt said on the final day of the Conservative Political Action Conference. “There are air quality issues and water quality issues that cross state line.”

“There’s some very important work to protect and provide leadership … but what’s happened over the last several years is the previous administration was so focused on climate change and so focused on CO2 that some of those other priorities were left behind,” he said.

He said some regulations will be rolled back in the near term “in a very aggressive way.”

That headline sums up my problem with the climate change craze. There are about 1,000 things of dire importance before global warming/cooling/change. These climate scientists can't even pinpoint what exactly is happening and don't want to even try to pinpoint it because they know full well the data won't back them up. By keeping that data as vague and generalized as possible, they can keep that target moving continuously so that nobody else quite knows what they are seeing or doing. Just keeping people worried about something is enough to keep the money rolling in.

Chip, thanks for posting that photo with the late great Col Henry Blake and the awesome quote. I'll have to remember that line the next time I encounter one of those crazed whackaloons

Has anyone questioned if all the wind turbines and solar farms that sprung up all over the country and Europe are partly to blame for the recent weather patterns?

Oooh. Good one JMM

Wow, in 83 years the earth warms 0.2 degrees. All this global warming was ever about was taking advantage of a manufactured crisis to advance the global distribution of wealth.
As Rom Emanuel said "don't let a good 'crisis' go to waste".

Wind farms are dangerous to your health...tear them down!

Wisconsin Wind Turbines Declared Health Hazard

In what appears to be the first of its kind ruling in the United States, the Board of Health in Brown County, Wisconsin, where Green Bay is located, has declared a local industrial wind plant to be a human health hazard. The specific facility consists of eight 500-foot high, 2.5 megawatt industrial wind turbines.

It had wrestled with health complaints about the wind plant for more than four years. Ultimately, the board’s ruling was based on a year-long survey which documented health complaints and demonstrated that infrasound and low-frequency noise emanating from the turbines was detectable inside homes within a 6.2-mile radius of the industrial wind plant.

Jay Tibbetts, a physician and a member of the Brown County Board of Health, said the board based its position that the turbines constitute a health hazard on the weight of evidence.

“I can tell you that we are absolutely not an anti-wind energy board,” Tibbetts said. “We worked on this for four and a half years before making this decision. Three families have moved out. I knew all of them. We also know that this isn’t only happening here. In Ontario 40 families have abandoned their homes to get away from the effects of wind turbines.”

The Paris Climate Deal is a treaty but it isn't a treaty. It's an agreement with other countries so it should have been ratified by the Senate as the Constitution says treaties have to be, but it never was since Bomma knew it would never pass so it isn't a treaty. What Bomma did was have the EPA implement the same regs as the Paris agreement called for. Live by the EO, die by the EO.

It's not about the climate, it's about control and wrecking capitalism.

Not to mention it will probably cool 0.2 degrees over the next 83 years. Natural climate cycles are a bizarre and fantastical thing tho these money grubbing climate crisis bozos.

EPA chief Scott Pruitt says carbon dioxide is not a primary contributor to global warming

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt said Thursday he does not believe carbon dioxide is a primary contributor to global warming.

"I think that measuring with precision human activity on the climate is something very challenging to do and there's tremendous disagreement about the degree of impact, so no, I would not agree that it's a primary contributor to the global warming that we see ," he told CNBC's "Squawk Box."

"But we don't know that yet ... We need to continue the debate and continue the review and the analysis," he added.

Nor’easter: March snowstorm targets Mid-Atlantic, Northeast

Parts of the Northeast are primed for significant snow threats through midweek next week as Canadian Arctic air spills south.

A clipper system is forecast to descend form the Canadian Prairies this weekend bringing light snow to the Upper Midwest.

Early models indicate areas north of Virginia could see the highest snowfall accumulations Monday through Wednesday

“The threat of heavy snow greatly increases for Pennsylvania, New York, New England, or areas north of Virginia,” says Weather Network meteorologist Tyler Hamilton. “Early models show that some areas could see snow of up to a foot or more.”
