What a *****.

"You know, for us, it's about playing to a personality that we prescribe to engineer victory, to possess the ball, and a component of possessing the ball is not only time, but managing risk and obviously, there's less risk with running the football than throwing it, and sometimes that's the component of this discussion as well," explained Tomlin.

Impossible as he has quoted that they don’t live in their fears…

or the playoffs…

or un-painted barns… with broad brushes or male brushes…

They are ready to defend every blade of grass. As soon as the players leave the field.

On the very same field that has no stones on it, they will turn over every damn stone every one of them.

As the playoffs fade into the following weeks they will be on yes that same field turning over every one of those damn rocks.

“Najee get yinz slow *** out there and find me a rock and not the Tim Worley type of rock”

“Yes coach”

To me the Steelers are victims of their own success. the whole 3 coach deal since 1623 or whatever is part of it.
but the other part is having the identity of defense 1st. it worked from the 70s until 10 year ago. the NFL has changed. wether it FF, lawsuits for head injury, whatever, it is all about offense now.

they have to change with the times and so far have not.

Reminds me of another joke.

Wanna hear it here it go:

Bam Morris, Tim Worley, and Justin Strzelczyk walk into a bar…

which one is sober?

The Steelers were so good though on offense that they turned the ball over a league-leading 52X give or take in 1979 and still won the Super Bowl. Imagine if Tomlin had coached one of those teams into the ground and told Terry to avoid the MOF?

Shades is on another level with his OCD control freak philosophy at this point bordering on mental illness since Ben hurt his arm. He really seems to believe he can suffocate offensive life enough every week that he's going to emerge victorious.

Is Rooney even paying attention?

1623 lol a good laugh for the day. Maybe start the 1623 Project to get him out by 2040.

I try to be optimistic, but what you wrote is pretty much the problem. In this day and age, a great defense is good to have, but you better be able to hang more than 17-20 points on the board consistently and not rely on the D as much as Mike T. does. The D players can't play like they used to without a flag coming.

WTF does what Tomlin said make any ******* sense. Geez! Does this guy ever listen to himself?
He’s got to be the biggest hypocrite and phony in this league. That’s all he does is live in his fears.
I’m so pissed off at Art at this point for allowing this crap to continue for this long.
The extension was totally undeserved and should not have been given. If we lose Saturday that’s eight years and counting with no playoff win. Look back at who they beat in the playoffs in 2016. A backup in Miami and Alex Jones in KC on all FGs.

Tomlin flat out telling us he's afraid to throw the ball and will try to run even if it isn't working. Just absolutely insane. I don't even care if he wanted this to be a running team, but if that's what you want, construct a dominant running team.

They run 7 shots at training camp every year and they're in the shotgun throwing the ball 7 times. How is this establishing a mentality that you want to be physical and dominate on the ground? I honestly don't know if he truly knows how to build an identity because he's always relied on star talent to just show up and be better than the guy on the other side. When it doesn't work, the team fails.

This game plan against the Bengals was total incompetence by Tomlin and his OC.
You beat the hell out of this Bengal defense in Cincinnati maybe the worst in the league by passing the ball and you come out with this **** Saturday. Total incompetence. Their defense was so bad even the cheap *** Mike Brown fired their DC today.
Why wouldn’t you just come out Saturday and attack their defense the very same way as you did in Cincinnati?
No, Tomlin thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room and he’ll show them. Yeah you showed them!
