Tomlin Deserves Credit

Really , if Cincy had Ben instead of Palmer and the Red Rifle all these years they win multiple playoff games in many years. Tomlin has 3 playoff wins the last 8 years speaking of underachieving. By any metric Tomlin has been an underachiever with a HOF QB who already won a Super Bowl prior to the moron's being hired in 2007.

Not a chance. With a better coach, Cincinnati has multiple deep playoff runs with all of the talent they've had over the years. Lewis underachieved with them because he had zero control over that locker room.

Please don;t even broach control of the locker room, Tomlin is weak in this area as well.

Eh, there are some bad moments, but the media blows a lot of it way out of proportion. Cincinnati is on a different level when it comes to zero control by the coach. Has cost them games, including a playoff game against the Steelers.

Where are all the Steelers deep runs the last 9 years under Tomlin and his non buttoned down team? I think Lewis is the coach of the steelers the last 9 years we have a Super Bowl or two. he is very respected in the coaching ranks for his tenure as a head coach and his work as a DC, Tomlin, not so much.

Tomlin has done it on merit, his ****** coaching is making him a national joke.

Cleveland is a joke. Tomlin, as bad as this season has devolved, is not a national joke.

Lighten up, Francis.

Cleveland wins in Denver , something Tomlin couldn't do 3 weeks ago. Every talk show on the NFL is blasting Tomlin for his stupidity but keep the faith he will **** it up and miss the playoffs once again, he sucks and should have been fired years ago, Rooney Rule is his lifeline.

The Steelers are becoming the joke, sad.

Hue is actually a great OC, he and Tomlin are both stupid as **** head coaches who talk stupidly and too much.

Willliams is a much better DC than Tomlin has ever been and he is winning with Hue Jackson's team, hhhmmm.

So Tomlin is a great OC but just a lousy head coach?

One year as DC where his defense was last in the league in pass defense and then we hired the bullshitting smoke and mirror fool. He should be the logo for the Rooney rule, worthless POS that he has always been

No, next we will be talking about Gregg Williams being a better coach than Tomlin.

Well, Eric Mangini has a better record against Belicheat than MT does.

Let's hope the Rooneys notice the Cleveland turn around with a new HC. Same players.

amazing what just competency can do for a team. We overcome bad coaching just to win. Can you imagine Belicheck and Ernie Adams during Steeler week ?

By the same token, I'm not raising Cowher to "mythical status," either. He certainly had his share of flaws, and lost a few heart-wrenching playoff games as a favorite, just like Tomlin has.

I simply pointed out the facts about Ben's record with each of the two coaches he's had. Which is better, do you think?

comparing three seasons to twelve seasons is apples to oranges. we don't know what Cowher's record would have been with Ben had he stayed with the team. It's a pointless argument that can never be decided.

Nobody comparing the two coaches thinks Cowher has to be anywhere near mythically great to a lot better than Tomlin.

Cowher 161-99-1 (including playoffs) one super bowl win, two super bowl appearances. 618%
Tomlin 131-71-1 (including playoffs) one super bowl win, two super bowl appearances. 648%

The numbers tell a different story. And que up the "but but but" excuses...

and I'll say it again. I think it's time for Tomlin to go, we need a fresh face, a fresh outlook, especially on D.

For the record, you are saying that you think Tomlin is a better coach than Cowher was? You gave the stats, so no but but but excuses.

He's a moron. Cowher had great defenses and so so offenses. Now we have a great offense and ****** defenses . I guess Tomlin is a great offensive mind, LMFAO, and Cowher just could not get a defense to be good, SMH

You said it wasn't hard to see that Cohwer was much better, the numbers show they are pretty damn equal. Again, proving the notion that Cohwer wasn't as great and Tomlin isn't as bad as this board likes to point out.

This place loves to make fun of other fan bases when they implode... But if WAY worse here than any other teams boards. I've never seen so much negativity, and ****** threads started in my life. It's pathetic.
