To your point, they have ignored the middle of the field for years. Even before Canada.
 
In the Kordell era, the Arhardt narrowed the field for Kordel. He divided it into vertical thirds, left / middle / right. He called plays with Kordel moving a lot so middle was short read and move, thus causing a lot of left side / right side throws.

Don ‘t minimize Kordell’s play as for a time he was very HOT and productive. Sure, he was kept at QB to long but he also had some good seasons in there as well.

All things will fall into place if they stay the course back to what has won all of those trophies they pass by.

That blue print is tried and proven. It will always work. You just need the dedicated men to do it.

You have to forge them into one well oiled machine with each player doing his part and not wanting to be the guy who let's his brother down.

when you draft & play Kendrick Green on the inside zone - you tell the slot & dime DB's that you dont care about threatening the middle of the field, at all.
When you draft & play Pickens and you cannot be bothered to even dress Austin III when he gets healthy, your telling the safeties that, f*ck it i don't care to keep you honest even toward the hashes nor the corners toward the flats since i'll just take the godd*mn double-team on the outside.

The outside game works on speed and by keeping the safeties from playing quarters and Cover 2 all-day, but 🇨🇦 is inviting that sh*t by using players that suck at threatening either of those things.

when did they have a healthy Calvin Austin? That never happened he came back and reaggravated the injury right away. I blame Canada for lots of things but lets not make up things to blame him for.

Canada doesn't trust his own play design I think. He truly lives in his fears.

Similar to not having AUDIBLES available until week 5. It was said there wasn’t enough “experience” out on the field of play to understand what an audible was……..

The constant was your one and only O’Canada………………. Oh how I hope he can call a average game as that would be HUGE improvement.
