Tomlin stepping down

Doubt it matters if the allegations prove to be true, no one will pursue him until things become clear, obviously.
Why? That **** happens all the time in the NFL abd never gets talked about... Belicheat was stepping out on his wife and everyone knew it.. sean Payton and that cheerleader, that one carolina coach.. Bill Cowher.. those are off the top of my head abd tgey all barely made a blip on the news

Nobody cares at all

Sad to see how many people in here hating on Tomlin SMH, I'm not buying the story at this stage and even if it does come to be true that's his personal business. Nothing to do with football and none of us are perfect.

true none of us are. but for 19 seasons,, he was infallable . eyeroll. The **** got old, it got past the point of this isnt working to a festering corpuscle, and people are happy to see him gone.

I understand people wanting him gone etc, im talking mainly about the attacks on his personal character. I 100% think it was overdue for a new HC, if he wasn't too scared of hiring competent assitant coaches we would probably have 7 by now.

Love for someone that holds you hostage for a decade plus, and moons you with fake kisses when he knows he's leaving? Good luck with that.

Its hard to find a site allowed here that still has anything about it... it was a rumor back in 04/05 ish before that there were a couple other cowher infidelity rumors...
you can look it up.. its harder right now cause the tomlin and sherrod nonsense it dominating the cycle

Pre twitter and facebook journalism, most of this stuff was totally quiet from the media... back in 04-07 I happened to work in Greensburg along with a bunch of people from St Vincents. I spent a good amount of time in Latrobe.

The bartenders out there had a bunch of steelers stories.. quite a bit about Cowher actually... he was always out with younger women and often said to be doing coke... and that wasnt isolated... there were lots of stories from different bars...

Its like south side steelers stories.. there are thousands, only the most outrageous make the news.. the steelers cover up most of the player and coach problems... its just harder these days

Its a pretty established stereotype that pro and college head coaches are often adulterers... that wouldnt be a factor for any team hiring them.

My now-retired relative was in the Pittsburgh media for 40 plus years (partly why my s/n is Ron Burgundy) and told me a lot of stuff, some of it Steelers-related.
1. He never had any firm knowledge of Cowher having an affair with a Steelers secretary.
2. Kordell Stewart was not gay.
3. Long-ago KDKA sports anchor Bill Currie was gay.
4. Greg Lloyd was as nasty to team staff and the media as he was to opponents on the field.
5. Max Starks was his all-time favorite Steeler to deal with from a media perspective.

Wow, we are no longer held captive, now let's find someone that doesn't have smartest man in the room syndrome, who will actually hire good coordinators
And actually let them "coordinate".

I am excited for a fresh start. Bring in someone outside the organization. Usually the GM will bring in his guy....hopefully an offensive minded entity this time around. Let them hire their guys. Build their team. Now a new culture. Such as a CHAMPIONSHIP goal culture. I don't mind a few losing seasons as long as you see growth as a team moving forward. We all saw what we saw over this past decade. The change was a need. If we wanted to move forward.

Yeah the kordell rumor was started by two racist idiots. They stopped a guy that looked remotely like kordell in frick park and then started that rumor.

The steelers keep a lot in house under wraps though... (I've heard the Russ grimm drunk tale from enough people i buy it, but it never ever was confirmed.. )

I loved Lloyd... the reason he never got a sniff of the accoladed he deserved was his ****** attitude to the press.

Max Starks 1000% was and is a great guy from everythin i ever heard... a lot of fans didnt like him as an olman either, and I thought he did a fine job.

There are about a dozen pittsburgh sports rumors id love to know the truth behind.. only a few are steelers related though..

Perhaps this story has legs and is about to become more public. It would become a huge distraction to this organization. You can't hide this stuff forever unless you have a fixer. The media and fans souring on Tomlin and forcing him out, doesn't add up. Tomlin's ego is too big to walk away from the haters and doubters. It's probably the allegedly personal and family stuff.
If his wife divorces him it will be public record.
Allegedly.

like I'd love to know if the Barrasso/ Kevin Steven's wife thing happened... because if so, it basically derailed the 90's pens and 2 HOF careers...
The two biggest A-holes ever in Pittsburgh sports were Tom Barasso and Barry Bonds. Greg Lloyd and Bobby Bonilla close behind.
