Tomlin sucks thread 11/6/16

Well yeah that's exactly what my post was answering. At home, prepare to go out and do your thing and impose your will. On the road, prepare more specifically to the opponent and taking what they are likely to give based on their strengths and weaknesses, rather than forcing what YOU want to do

And of course, in both cases, be a lot more flexible and nimble during the game with adjustments when plan A isn't working

I've been in this thread long enough.

I would just also like to point out that Dallas, at 6-1 and feeling good about themselves, went into Cleveland and beat the Browns on the road 35-10 yesterday, and looked dominant

That's exactly the type of game we are incredibly unlikely to have, if not entirely incapable of having altogether. We instead come out playing like garbage and struggle to score all game long. Why is it that a rookie QB and a fairly pedestrian head coach can keep their **** together long enough to play the way they should against a bad team, and on the road?

That was set up for a trap game if there ever was one, sandwiched between the Eagles and the Steelers. No doubt we put a whooping on them this week, though.

So they were taught that when we were 4-1 but not now???

Plenty of people were rightfully complaining when the 2-0 Steelers got embarrassed while losing by 30+ points to an Eagles team that has come to be exposed as average at best.

They were 4-1, yet they were favored to win all 5 of those games. In fact, the Steelers have been favorites in 7 of 8 games this season. They SHOULD be 7-1, not 4-4, but by God, it's not Tomlin's fault that his team continues to underachieve. Year after year after year.

I believe I have satisfactorily answered your question. Now if you would please humor me and do the same, what would need to happen on the field for you to blame Tomlin for something? We all know bad challenges, bad clock management, or a bad 4th down decision is on the head coach, so I'm hoping you don't take that low-hanging fruit.

He will not answer that.

I'm confused - does this mean you think my idea is pretty stupid?

Nah it meant I was tired and had to go to sleep so I woke up at 5 and get ready to work.. you guys are too angry lol

They were 4-1 because they playing well. The same coaches were coming up with those game plans. They weren't perfect but the players were playing well. Especially on offense that helped cover up the defense giving up lot of yards. Now people want the coaches to come up with some special game plans that Will fix things when what will fix things is guys playing better. It's simple play better. Of course no one will acknowledge injuries are hurting the team but of course for this guy he doesn't get that excuse. **** injuries have been blamed on him and his staff too. Yet if you mention 2006 the first thing people mention is Ben's header funny how that works

How many times do I have to explain that I don't automatically attribute every thing to the coach.I've never done it why should I start now?? When someone can tell me why I should change the way I always felt. Then I will answer that.. I wasn't running around crying Cowher lost it when had down years under him. Why should I be saying it now..I don't follow a lot other teams closely like I do the Steelers but I live in Jersey. So I have no choice but to know a little about the giants and jets..I told all my Giants friends don't get rid of Tom Coughlin. He's a good coach. Eli must play better. So it's not some love affair with Tomlin. Once a guy has proven he can coach to me I'm good. Players play. Our players must play better..

As for your answer Tomlin have been proven to be one of the top coaches when challenging calls. This stat has been posted numerous times and ignore numerous times so I'm not going to bother finding it and posting it again. Clock management is tricky. Everyone has a opinion and would do this or that. But is there one game you can point too that cost us a game. Where the clock was mismanaged and it cost us the game?? 4th downs not looking that up but people only remember the ones we don't get but conveniently forget big conversions. Has Tomlin been perfect in these areas no but no one is and I don't always agree with all of them and I say so on here. But because I also try to understand the other side of the coi when it comes to these decisions instead of calling him a jackass when I don't agree with them I love him smh

If you could not look at our offensive game plan and play calling on Sunday and tell a MAJOR difference from the opening games of the season then you are delusional.

Yes there is they executed that's the difference. So you mean to tell me the coaches after the 4-1 start decided to change everything that was working. Makes sense

Game-Set-Match. Ray Charles and his blind squirrel could see that the play calling and game plan vs the Ravens was night and day different from what we ran earlier this year. Has NOTHING to do with execution.

Yep nothing to do with execution it's all the play calls talk about hyperbole lol.

Apparently you are not smart enough to watch a game and see that the play calls relative to the situation they were called was night and day different. But what do you expect from someone that turned the game off before it was over.

Turned the game off before it was over LMAO. Did the game come on last nite. I turned off the replay I was watching on the firestick. On Sunday's I have NFL Sunday ticket.

You are the one who said that you stopped watching the game after the blocked punt. Just saying.

Nothing else needs said, Ben thought we should've went to the up pace offense sooner, but Tomlin didn't make the adjustment until it was pretty much to late. End of discussion, Tomlin didn't want to try to get away from the game plan that WASNT WORKING!

They ran 12 plays from the no huddle in the first half they got nothing

No huddle and a quick up pace no huddle are two totally different things, you know that, come on.

I think Ben was 4 for 4 throwing from the no huddle in the first half.

But wait I thought we were on the road where it's not only difficult to audible but also difficult to go no huddle all game

Come on, I know you've been watching the steelers and football for along time, you can call more than one play in the huddle, and how many times have you seen us line up without a huddle with a ton of time on the play clock and us run it down to almost zero before we snap it?

You are the one who suggested we didn't audible certain plays because we were on the road. But want to run the no huddle which requires even more communication

Yeah I gave that as a possible reason why they didn't audible, I didn't say that was the fact. And considering Ben thought they should've changed the play calling sooner, but we didn't shoes me maybe Ben didn't even have the green light to audible.
The no huddle worked very well with 3 WR's, and Pounce back.

Pouncey didn't play in the 4th quarter I don't think
