Tomlin to Redskins Discussion Thread

I'd say he has pretty much full control here already. If Tomlin wanted a guy in the draft and Colbert didn't, Tomlin is getting the guy he wants. He himself said he hand selected Bruce Davis, that was 2008 or 2009.

Bruce Davis. How funny. Colbert contact is up next year, correct?

The guys a bone head. Should have used a time out to preserve time for the offense before the half ended but didn’t.

You're one to talk. And get over that stupid timeout bullshit, even Tomlin's biggest critics aren't ranting and raving about it like your dumb *** is.

go **** yourself douchebag

It’s about time you brush your teeth. The amount of bs that comes out of your mouth...

I hear your boy Ayers signed with the XFL. I guess the Steelers were stupid for not picking him up!

Tell me why he should not called a time out to persevere clock for the offense!? He had 3 of them. Do explain. I’ll put your lack of football knowledges into the cheap seats.

News flash. What if you got a good return? Might 30 extra seconds given you a chance for a field goal. Yes.

Now be gone!

he was drafted in the 5th round today...and yes with the garbage they have at WR and PR the Steelers are stupid for not giving him a shot....

the bullshit comes from your fingers on the keyboard....you don't know **** about anything

Good lord, you really know how to butcher the English written word. It would've been a good idea if we had Ben or a proven veteran Coach, I will say that. In that typical scenario, you are absolutely right.

However, they were relying a rookie who never started an NFL game before. And we were up 21 points, going into the half with a comfortable lead and knowing we were getting the ball back to start the second half. If we were to try a drive with little time and a rookie making his first start trying to run hurry-up and something (anything) went wrong, we give the Chargers momentum and that locker room of theirs during the half is feeling a lot better than they would have being down 3 scores. End of story.

It was the wise decision to make and I don't know how many ******* people need to explain this to you to get it through that thick ******* skull of yours.

Class dismissed.

Bawahahaha, look Coolieman, the guy is a nobody. There are 32 NFL teams, not one of them wants Ayers. You have pure **** for brains.

coming from the guy who doubted Oliver would go in the top 10...when you can call a pick like that 2 years out...then you can talk ****....

Ayers issue in camp was he kept getting hurt...he is easily better at PR that what the Steelers have on the roster.....

You are not thinking. It could have been a back kick or a good return. Or Conner could have turned a safe pass into a big play. With 30 extra seconds and two times out, we could have extended our lead.

I guess you don't watch much football as defenses traditionally back off with limited time on the clock in the first half.

21 points, we didn't win by that much, SD came back a bit in the 2nd half.

Tomlin was worse with time outs in the game before. You must dig being 3-6 on the last nine playoff games. I'll add some color to you. One win came vs. the Dolphins backup QB, and the other we lucked out when the Bengals self-destructed with penalties.

Early in his career, Steeler players said Tomlin cost them in his first playoff game. Yes--that happened.

Buffalo is not very good at drafting. Other stuff like AB refusing to be traded to Buffalo when the Bills were ready to trade their first pick for him, and a very talented SEC DL player getting hurt had a lot to do with Ed, " I cannot get a sack " Oliver going in the top ten.

If you think Tomlin is a moron for cutting Ayers, then you might get one right by accident as he is a moron.

Not to get too off topic, PLEASE make Tomlin to the Redskins happen.

YOU took it off topic.

you just like being a ******** and stir **** when a blind man could tell Oliver is playing well.....

Okay Coach, this isn't going anywhere, so you're right, it was a terrible decision and I don't watch very much football. And a defense would never pin their ears back knowing they have a rookie trying to run a hurry-up drill his first time in a game situation.

No, I don't, and I know Tomlin is most times pretty awful with clock management. I've even been in the camp that we need new blood, so I'm not just blindly defending Tomlin on this one, I just think he made the safe/right decision in that particular situation.

I disagree with Tomlin on most things clock related but there is no way I'm calling a TO. You have a huge lead with a rookie undrafted FA QB... just get to the locker room without any damage. If he throws a duck like he did on his only long pass of the night then you put them right back in the game. With Ben? Absolutely go for it. With Duck? Not a chance.

Coach has gone off to banana land folks. That 26 yard punt from his dream pick Dickson must have jarred something loose in his head.

Coach, you know Vader has been sick of Tomlin for years. Read his post as many times as it takes to get it through your ******* head that it was the right decision given the circumstances.

I have enough faith in humanity that you will even get it.

Given that the Rams gave up TWO 1sts for Ramsey makes me wonder if at least Washington’s first rounder this year would be on the table for Tomlin. And it’ll be a very high pick. If they send us their next two firsts like Jacksonville got for Ramsey, you have to at least think about it

I agree with yaz Vader but even with Ben in there Tomlin has failed near the exact same cinerio . Point being, CMVLT isn't the best clock coach.........period. Not to turn this into a Tomlin bash but can anyone name something Coach T is best at?

If im up 21-0 on the road in a pretty much must win game and getting the ball back after halftime, there is no way i am taking any chances no matter who the QB is. I wanted Tomlin gone after a couple years and I think he really lacks football IQ in many ways, but letting the clock run was the right choice

If the Washington Redskins would actually part with their first round pick for Mike Tomlin, the ink could not dry fast enough for me on the paper. But that **** doesnt happen for the Steelers. Oh in hindsight they fleeced the Raiders on both the AB trade and the Bryant one. But not the big high first round deal. Never happen.
