Tomlin took the loss hard.

Wonder if Tomlin is tired, starting to think about retiring or taking a break?

I don't think Tomlin is tired. Crying is for a player who's child has cancer or a tragedy. We lost a game and football game. Puts things into perspective.

“I’m glad I have a coach like that,” defensive end Cam Heyward added. “It hurts even worse, because he’s right in the battle with us.”

Ward was an emotional player, not the head coach. Any coach who has made the playoffs also has lost a playoff game. Tomlin is no different. Does Tom Hanks have to say it?

Use the loss to get better and work harder.

Dick Vermeil was a head coach and well noted crier. He took a losing franchise to the super bowl. Then after burn out retirement returned after 15 years and took another bunch of losers to the super bowl and won. You wont find a player who played for him that didnt have the utmost respect.

Funny movie.. thanks for the clip.

You're Welcome. The movie is a personal favorite of mine, and I just thought it sort of fit.

To lighten the mood:

MT: I had to wait for the wind to change before I made my move! So I punted rather let my excellent kicker add three points.

Thug 1. Yo Tomlin, When you went to Denver and blew a 4th quarter lead, you were crying like a " insert jail thug's colorful metaphor "

Thug 2. YEAH!

MT. Back off man, my best receiver took a hit. His phone in the limo busted! Those fans in Denver threw stuff in my eye, and I still addressed my team like a man. You don't know what you're talking about, insert a Tomlinism.

Steeler Nation Tomlin fan: Yeah, AB had his phone busted, what is you ignorant!

Pan down to the look on Harrison's face.

Dumbest thread this year.... hands down... id rather see another Bengal troll thread... this is just boring petty piling on to a non issue.

I'll second Coach for dumbest thread of year, again. He will sweep top 5!

Yes, that is true. However the Superbowl is a bit more important than a playoff game. Wouldn' you agree? Crying is/was in Vermeil's nature so his team knew it was part of the deal.

Anyone who thinks there were not some men in the locker room that didn't applud this is crazy. And now rival fans have a throw back to give whenever.

If the Marvin Lewis or Harbaugh was crying about losing a football game I'll venture a guess some of you here would be laughing your @sses off. I get the double standard.

I think this is a ridiculous statement. This is their professions, their jobs. Sure, it's a game, but it's how they make a living and what they work hard all year for. To see a player or a coach show that kind of emotion, especially in a spot like these 2015 Steelers, it doesn't bother me in the least.

Call me spartan but there's no crying in football for head coaches unless a tragedy happens, or it's your retirement speech.

These are alpha males in the locker room. Not all of them are going to like this, and those who don't might lose respect.
Slow day at the office today Coach? I'm not a Tomlin jock hugger by no means but that game likely had more than Mike Tomlin in tears in that locker room. The team overcame a lot of adversity this season to get into that game and nearly won it. "Alpha males" have feelings too.

Honestly Coach.

What the hell? Is that the best you can do? You don't have any particularly useless topics on hand to start a thread with today? C'mon man. Go troll on the Bengals board for awhile and leave us alone.

You do know that if Toussaint doesn't fumble that ball the odds of the Steelers sneaking away with one are huge? I'm not going to beat on the kid. He's a young guy with a ton of pressure and I'm sure he's kicking the **** out of himself right now. He doesn't need the nation giving him ****.

That was a heart-breaking loss. Toussaint had JUST gotten the Steelers into FG position. They simply had to keep the ball moving, run some time off the clock and either get a FG or score a TD and the game was as good as won. It didn't work out.

Then you gotta come out and squirt the douche. Let it go man. The Steelers lost. It was a tough game and we basically had no chance to win it from the start and they STILL made an epic run at it. Give them their credit. Maybe Tomlin just cares more about the team than you do.

You invest almost everything in this stuff. I prefer people who care over people who are "strong". People work to their optimum for people who care.

I personally don't care about anyone else, but the Steelers. Those other HCs can whine, throw fits, whathaveyou, I don't care. If they care enough to cry, so be it. There are a lot of cynical people out there, so anyone can run with it when someone is at their weakest or lowest point. Good for them to get a laugh at their expense.

Is Coach autistic or something?

No Diver, but my daughter is.

Would you like to discuss the symptoms and how painful that is for her family?

They do cry, in the form of whining like *******. I'd rather Tomlin's version.

Dick Vermeil cried all the time. That said if Tomlin goes for the 2 makeable FG's and makes 1 we have a fighting chance that last drive instead of going for the FG right away and hoping for an onside kick. Yeah, thinking about it Tomlin should cry.

No chance. When a man isn't afraid to be emotional in front of a group like that, it shows real courage. The players will likely respect the hell out of him even more for it.
