Tomlin wasted no time on this topic

Tomlin said it Monday on the Mike Tomlin Show...something about how he wasn't even in the "neighborhood" of thinking about making a QB change.

So I'm not surprised.

I just want a QB who understands situational football..... eg I need to not take a sack and throw the ball away at times...
who can complete a decent throw when given a clean pocket
who has the killer instinct
who can go through more than one option when he scans the field
athletic is an asset

If Pickett is the future ....... might as well start getting the growing pains out ........ I do not think he is so fragile that losing will break his spirit or damage him....

I do however have more confidence in him placing a throw in a catchable position more consistently than Mitch or Rudolph

Tomlinisms are getting weaker by the week ......... if we are still the same offensively by halftime in the Jets game it would be nice to see Kenny coming out in the 2nd half

stop the run and any of the 3 QBs will be good enough
Nope. Keep the damn ball and we will stop the run. Get a lead and we will stop the run. Playing from behind and not possessing the ball makes stopping the run a tricky proposition.

Ok. Since you were going at it all game long and still continue. And it sounds like I am defending the offense. I am not. They have been **** before Canada. And continue to be the same.

1. Playing from behind this game

You do realize our team was up 14-13 at halftime. We then came out ,kept the ball for 10 plays and 5 minutes 27 seconds. So the D had all halftime plus the 5 minutes. To rest.
The Browns drive went for 14 plays 70 yards. Maybe the D needed more rest? Perhaps stopping a bloody 3rd down would have helped.

The Steelers then went 3 and out. Yes of course it would have been nice to get a drive happening

The Browns then went on a 11 play 80 yard drive. Consuming 6 min 35 seconds. Gee. Maybe stopping a bloody 3rd down might have got them on the sidelines. But according to you it’s all the offense. Remember the New England game when they kept the ball the whole last half of the 4th? Maybe stopping them on a 3rd down might have bloody well got them off the field.

In the first half the Browns had a 9,12 and 7 play drives. Maybe if they could have got a bloody 3rd down stop they could have gotten off the field.

You do realize our D is the highest paid in the league and our offense I believe is the lowest in the league. Our D should be making big plays. I am not blaming all our woes on the D. Far from it. But I do walk around with my eyes open.

Check out Tomlins record on Thursday Nights especially on the road… he doesn’t do well with a short turnaround… i wonder what it is on any short week actually…. I seem to think he has a good record after the bye, but not so much the week after a Monday night game… but im less certain of that

Bang on. Our front 7 blows chunks. No physicality. Without TJ they get no pressure on the QB at all. And I'm sick of watching the pile get pushed 5+ yards down the field on a simple run up the middle.

Overall our defense is a bunch of overpaid underachievers.

Tomlin is trying to secure a top 5 pick so we can draft Peter Skoronski.

Why change? Trubisky had a few off throws but he looked good in the 1st half when they were getting in a rhythm and they used his legs a little bit. Then, Canaduh lost his keys in the 2nd half.

Haven’t you seen we can’t have nice things with Mikey, just dangerously average things

On no planet will Shades willingly play Pickett until we’re mathematically eliminated or T biscuit is injured. Mikey’s house of fears does not rely upon j rookie QBs.

2 words with this team

Punt ready

Trubisky still suffers from inaccuracies due to poor maechanics quite frequently and also struggles with both presnap and post snap reads.

He has all the look of a QB that is reading routes rather than coverages.

And having a weak OC is definitely not helping his confidence either. Mitch reads the field better out of the pocket. We should be rolling him out more frequently to help him and incorporating stretch run plays and play action off this movement and throwing delayed backside screens to keep the D honest. The jet sweep crap/gimmick that the OC is in love with does nothing but hamper the ability to put together a cohesive game plan built off our players’ strengths:

Mike Tomlin is a bad coach. He would have been a good coach in 1972 when defensive backs could wrestle with wide receivers and most NFL offenses were 4 yards and a cloud of dust, since his refusal to go for it on 4th down would fit right in, as would his obstinance in refusing to go no-huddle more than once when the outcome is in doubt, despite the fact the one time he went no-huddle the team scored a TD.

Hold on. Coaches in 1972 coached teams that could stop the run and run the ball. He can do neither. Coaches in 1972 had teams that were physically brutal and his teams are soft as microwaved butter. He would have been a terrible coach in 1972.

So to sum up, Mike Tomlin is a coach for the ages: terrible in 1972 and terrible today.
