Tomlin wasted no time on this topic

Itis time the defense took its medicine, they are overrated. Was the same last year if we scored defense would allow a long drive then up to Ben as the scapegoat, to try to win game. The offense moved the ball and penalties made us punt in the third quarter from then on Browns had their way. In NFL three- and four-yard separation is wide open and their TE and receivers were that way all night long. Steeler's made not one defensive play that turned the game around in our favor. Defense did not make the Brown's punt all night long. How many times we hit their running back in backfield and he gained yardage by the way we tackle. Had nothing to do with Mitch just as Ben last year.

I agree with you about the defense but this is a complete team problem. None of the 3 phases is blameless. One FG in the second half in 2 of 3 games seldom gets you a victory (although it was somehow enough vs Cincinnati). And don't even start about Olshevsky. We'd be better off rushing 11. He seldom fields the ball in the air. At least he wouldn't fumble when he tries.

After watching the first 3 games of the season, all we can look forward to, as I see it, is how they'll screw up their top 10 draft pick next spring.
Maybe top 15 if TJ comes back and personally wins a couple of games for them. While Mikey Cool Shades is going nowhere, Canada should be gone today. I have no idea who would want the position or who is available, but I've seen enough. It doesn't seem like the season can be salvaged, ( 3 games, I know ) but bring in a new OC to point them in the right direction.

that is my point. we have to get back to Steeler football. not whatever we have been watching for last several years.
And obviously the recent games where we’ve failed to stop the run we obviously never started, just to further your point

You are correct that we are quite bad when we can’t stop the run, which unfortunately as of late has been a trend

Tomlin is trying to secure a top 5 pick so we can draft Peter Skoronski.
I don't like the idea of it, but it may take that to turn this around. A couple of years picking high. This team believes their own lies. They are not as talented as they think.

I liked Cleveland's concepts last night. I don't understand that team. I would just do that every week. With Nick Chubb, who is really gonna stop that, with their line? That team stops themselves.

I was being facetious.

Trubisky still suffers from inaccuracies due to poor maechanics quite frequently and also struggles with both presnap and post snap reads.

He has all the look of a QB that is reading routes rather than coverages.

And having a weak OC is definitely not helping his confidence either. Mitch reads the field better out of the pocket. We should be rolling him out more frequently to help him and incorporating stretch run plays and play action off this movement and throwing delayed backside screens to keep the D honest. The jet sweep crap/gimmick that the OC is in love with does nothing but hamper the ability to put together a cohesive game plan built off our players’ strengths:
He does. I am actually surprised he didn't use Josh Allen's trainer that fixed his mechanics issues. Allen was OK his 1st year but really worked on his mechanics issues and continues to do so and has become one of the very best in the NFL.

I posted a thread on this. It is not just Watt being out. We were giving Mixon 5+ yards per carry the entire 1st half of our game until they mostly abandoned the run in the 2nd half.

And we paid, what? $2M to lose to the cheatriots? Omar is starting out in the red in my book.

The Cynical take of the day….

Tomlin knows he is better off waiting to insert Pickett, because if they don’t do well this year, its the OC and retread QB’s fault … and next year the new starter gives him an obvious scapegoat in case things don’t get better…. Conversely, if you put him in now, you risk people saying you botched his development if he doesn’t do well next year and the blame falls on you…

Omar just took over from Colbert who ran the draft and much of the off season. Judging him by Colbert's decisions is premature

Tomlin always has a scape goat. Especially on defense. The fact that this offense looks almost identical to the **** that Sphincter ran too...makes me wonder how much he has his hand in the offense too.

When the D really, really matters(playoffs) we have given up 42,48,and 45 points the last 3 games ,good QB’s rip apart our secondary. And our run defense gets slashed. We are a hot mess in all phases.

Not just good QB's. Brisket roasted us last night. He threw to wide-open Cooper and Njoku all game long. And, then on every 3rd or 4th and 1, he ran for the 1st to really stick it to us. We made him look like an all-pro last night.

Tell me you’re tanking the season for high draft picks without telling us you are tanking for high draft picks. We are sticking with Mitch.

Disappointed and surprised that Mitch is playing as bad as he is. Ranks at or near the bottom on all passing stats. He lacks consistency just like in Chicago. He’ll make a couple really nice plays then throw four or five wounded ducks, really bad throws. His awareness and anticipation just are sub par, doesn’t see the field as well as you’d like, still checks down to his first read and doesn’t go through his progression. Couple this with a unimaginative offensive game plan from an OC who is in over his head at this level, a stubborn HC and you have recipe for failure.

Hey it was a roll of the dice. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.

I don't blame anyone for giving him his shot, but now that the known isn't an unknown... I blame them for not making that change.

Tomlin said it Monday on the Mike Tomlin Show...something about how he wasn't even in the "neighborhood" of thinking about making a QB change.

So I'm not surprised.
someone call him an Uber
