So you think Bush could have and should have prevented that attack? Source?
False. Utter bunk. We went into Iraq for a myriad of reasons, including but not limited to:
- Iraq had already been found guilty of material breach of its obligations under the Gulf War peace treaty, stretching back over 16 previous resolutions and 12 years.
- Iraq had refused weapons inspections over the preceding 4 years, in violation of the treaty.
- Iraq had shot at planes flying over the nation, in violation of the treaty.
- Iraq had violated the no-fly zones regarding the Kurds.
- Bush wanted to set up a legitimate, democratic government in the area, as a way to fight the spread of religious zealots.
- The UN approved resolution 1441, giving Iraq one last chance to permit the necessary inspections.
- The United States senate and house voted on and approved of the invasion (unlike Bammy's repeated, unauthorized use of force)
Nope, your boy Bammy is responsible for ISIS and the failed states in Libya and Syria. He refused to follow the advice of U.S. generals that at least 20,000 troops should remain in Iraq; he bombed Libya (without Congressional approval) and is responsible for Quadaffi being dead and ISIS thriving in the region; he refused to do anything to slow down the ISIS build-up in Syria.
For four years, the Obama administration has engaged in what Frederic Hof, former special adviser for transition in Syria, calls a “pantomime of outrage.” Four years of strongly worded protests, and urgent meetings and calls for negotiation — the whole drama a sickening substitute for useful action. People talking and talking to drown out the voice of their own conscience. And blaming. In 2013, President Obama lectured the U.N. Security Council for having “demonstrated no inclination to act at all.” Psychological projection on a global stage.

When Obama pulled all U.S. troops out of Iraq, critics worried there would be instability; none envisioned the emergence of a full-blown terrorist state. When he announced in August 2011 that “the time has come for President Assad to step aside,” critics worried the words might prove empty — but few imagined the extent of the catastrophe: not just the savagery of chemical weapons and “barrel bombs,” but also the Islamic State’s recruitment of thousands of foreign fighters, its spread from Libya to Afghanistan, the danger to the U.S. homeland that has alarmed U.S. intelligence officials, the refugees destabilizing Europe.

President Obama attacked Libya in 2011 without congressional authority, and then shirked any responsibility to help stabilize the country after deposing its dictator.

The last American commander in Iraq recommended to the Obama administration that 23,000 U.S. troops remain to cement the victory, but no deal was ever reached with Baghdad, and all combat forces went home.

Nope. Bush's economies >>> Bammy's economies:
Let's start with the Bush tax cuts vs. Bammy's "stimulus." Tax cuts drive up the deficit and debt, right? RIGHT? Not so much:
Okay, how about unemployment? Or home ownership? Or middle class income? Obamanomics rules, right? Yeah, not so much:
You credit BARACK OBAMA with reduced gas prices?!?!?!? Jesus, he thought that European-style $8 per gallon gas was great, and hates fracking - the reason why energy costs have declined - and petroleum use in general.
Holy crap, if your closing argument is that "Obama helped lower gas price," then you know you are in trouble.
The White House on Thursday proposed a wave of clean transportation investments that would be paid for through a $10-per-barrel fee on oil.
