Trump - Make America Great Again!

I can't vote for someone who isn't who he says he is and really doesn't believe in anything. My conscience simply won't allow me to do it. I'll likely vote for Johnson, who I have differences with but at least agree with on what's most important to me. I plan on switching my registration to Independent or Libertarian, haven't quite made up my mind yet. Republicans have picked three losers in a row, I just can't support this party anymore. If there's anything I can contribute in any small way to this process it's a shred of support toward the rise of some future alternative

Those of you who know me know I've been the staunchest advocate of not throwing one's vote away, of picking the lesser of two evils, in this case I simply don't feel that either of these two is any better than the other. They are both liars and phonies. They are both big government liberals. He's not a compromiser, he's a phony and a panderer. You may not believe it now but just wait and see if by some slim chance he is elected president. He's pulled the wool over your eyes, but not mine.

You needn't worry about my vote because Trump has NO CHANCE of winning Pennsylvania. I will go on record right now as saying Hillary wins here and wins big.
Not sure why you are so invested in these threads if you don't plan to participate, but don't really care.

I absolutely care, a great deal. Not sure why you would think I don't. Participating in these threads is something I've done for over a decade now. I doubt it has any effect on elections, it's a place to discuss these issues with friends (who are sometimes political foes but also still friends and many of whom I can have intelligent discussions with, unlike some of my facebook "friends").

Don't plan to participate in what? Slobbing Trump's knob?

I meant that I don't care, and by participate I mean voting for one of the two candidates who will win. I never understand atheists getting all worked up in religious threads either.

This thread is full of a wealth of sweet nuggets - everything that was said about Trump will be mined and brought to the surface - it's my grand plan for another 200 pages!

Let's start off...with a small tidbit

Hillary Manager Predicts Trump Will Win Presidency If Nominated

Democrats aren't laughing about Donald Trump anymore. He has them all but admitting defeat

In a stunning admission, Hillary Clinton's campaign manager predicts in an email that Donald Trump will become president if he wins the Republican nomination.

"Years of progress will be ripped away. Obamacare will be repealed. Marriage equality will be rolled back. Get excited to visit the wall on the Mexico border"

Yes! The Wall!

Defeatists and those who wallow in negativity usually have a strong desire to try and prove that they are right, at least to themselves.

Mary Matalin is about as relevant in her views on today's politics as Don Shula is on today's NFL.

These old ***** that love to defend the "Grand Ole Party" they helped destroy with their moral preaching can't die soon enough.

It is the establishment people that destroyed the party not us "religious whackos" on the right. The Tea Party is the only reason the GOP is in control of Congress. how could they have destroyed it when they gave them the power they needed? The establishment fools didn't listen to what their own people were telling then and outright showed them at the voting booths. The establishment listened to the MSM on "what it takes to win" as if the MSM wants the GOP to win anything.

I enjoy discussing and debating with people who disagree with me, on politics and religion. If you're only interested in hearing an echo chamber there's an ignore option for those of us who aren't Trump cheerleaders.

In case you missed it

BUILD THAT WALL, DONALD J. TRUMP!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence endorses Donald Trump

“I’m fully supportive of our presumptive nominee, and I do think Donald Trump will do well in the State of Indiana,” Pence told reporters

“I’m going to campaign hard for the Republican nominee because Indiana needs a partner in the White House"

Good dog

I heard that he's going to announce pretty much his whole cabinet at the convention. I like it.

I can hardly wait. I'm sure it will be a group of esteemed individuals.

That cabinet is going to be huge! It will be a beautiful cabinet, the best cabinet the country has ever seen! Such a fantastic, phenomenal cabinet.

You'll see.

I completely disagree.

Moderate Republicans would have won those house seats just fine in all those hillbilly districts but instead Tea Party and Religious Wackos rile up the religious electorate with some false hope of "changing" Washington and fixing the moral problems of America (which is absolutely impossible with the platform they run on), beat normal conservatives and come in to Washington thinking their **** doesn't stink and refusing to do ******* anything except whine and stomp their feet.

The Tea Party was the worst thing ever for conservative politics. It ruined the ******* party and brought religion into it more than ever which is complete dead end.

Goldwater had it right. The minute conservatives decided to be the party of Christianity, it was a losing ******* battle. You can't insult every liberal Christian and tell them they aren't Christian based on what they believe politically and you can't isolate every non-Christian conservative with your constant preaching about God and Jesus. It's just nauseating.

That is a complete dead end on a national level. Sure... if you live in a part of the country whose "conservative" base is all evangelical wackos you'll win. But that doesn't help anything on a national level. None.

And the only so-called "gains" I keep hearing Tea Partiers talk about is ALWAYS in off-year elections. And only because democrats don't vote. NOT because your message is plausible or good for country. Your importance is a complete farce. It's why everything you gain you end up losing in on-year elections when democrats turn out to vote for the President.

I can only hope that Trump (who will definitely turn out the vote) can hold on to some seats. But those Tea Party holdovers from 2014 and 2010 are wacko jokes and everyone knows it. Hard to defend them when people actually pay attention to their nonsense in 2016.

LOL. You guys are too much. I don't need to prove myself right. Trump is doing it for me. I've said from the beginning he's putting on a performance and his campaign manager blatantly admitted that a few days ago. Now he's backing off his positions and all you can do is spout your slogans and make excuses for him. Honestly, I'm still not convinced that this isn't some attempt by him to throw the election to Hillary but no matter how stupid and dishonest he acts some people will excuse anything and everything he does. He must be laughing his *** off in private. Let's see, what I can do to make myself look like an *** today..I know, I'll pose with some bastardized American version of Mexican food and tweet "I love Hispanics!".

I can't wait til he reverses his position on his wall and because he knows it's never gonna happen, and you all make excuses for that too.

Yeah get on the train....hoot hoot...lmao.

The Speaker caves...

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says he’ll meet with Donald Trump next week at the Republican National Committee office in Washington, D.C.

Ryan released the following statement on Friday:

Having both said we need to unify the party, Speaker Ryan has invited Donald Trump to meet with members of the House Republican leadership in Washington on Thursday morning to begin a discussion about the kind of Republican principles and ideas that can win the support of the American people this November. The Speaker and Mr. Trump will also meet separately, along with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

This is when Ryan officially becomes Trump's *****: The Speaker and Mr. Trump will also meet separately, along with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

What a headline someone running for a political office changed there position on a issue. This has to be the first time this has ever happened. People are going to nitpick the **** out of TRUMP the next 6 months. While Hillary is facing jail time. Damn some people are just that stupid.

Just watched Johnson, governor from New Mexico, say he is going to be the Libertarian candidate and the Libertarian candidate is the only third party candidate that is and can be on the ballot in all 50 states. Even taking a few percent hands the Presidency to the Dems. It sure will be a sad day in this country because another Dem in office will completely destroy this country as it was founded and we will never be a world power again.

Obama speaks, the world listens

It's time to take the Donald Trump threat more seriously, says Barack Obama
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...ore-seriously-says-barack-obama-a7017786.html

President Obama suggests US media is treating the rise of Trump as entertainment and needs to get serious

President Barack Obama has moved to discredit Donald Trump suggesting he would be exposed as unfit to serve in the White House if reporters probed him more urgently.

“I just want to emphasize the degree to which we are in serious times and this is a really serious job,” Mr Obama told the White House press corps on Friday. “This is not entertainment. This is not a reality show. This is a contest for the presidency of the United States.”

Making his first remarks on the Republican race since Mr Trump emerged as the presumptive nominee, Mr Obama told the reporters that deeper reporting of the billionaire and his positions had now become paramount, implicitly criticising them for have fallen short thus far. “Emphasizing the spectacle and the circus, that’s not something we can afford,” he said.

“It's important for us to take seriously the statements he's made in the past,“ Mr Obama went on. “Every candidate, every nominee has to be subjected to exacting stands and genuine scrutiny,”he said. That includes making sure their proposed budgets add up. “If they don’t, that needs to be reported on and the American people need to know that,” he suggested.

“If they take a position on international issues that could threaten war, or has the potential of upending our critical relationships with other countries, or would potentially break the financial system, that needs to be reported on,“ he went on, clearly referencing some foreign policy remarks made by Mr Trump, including suggesting Japan and South Korea acquire nuclear weapons.

At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last weekend, Mr Obama offered serial cutting jokes about the billionaire businessman. But on Friday he was stern, dismissing out of hand a question about a now infamous Tweet from Mr Trump on Thursday, which was a holiday in Mexico, showing him eating a so-called Taco Bowl salad and declaring his love for Hispanics.

“I have no thoughts on Mr Trump’s Tweets,” he replied. “As a general rule I don’t pay attention to Mr Trump’s tweets.” Nor would he he said, for the next six months until the general election.

Prodded to comment on the schism that MrTrump’s ascendancy has opened in the Republican Party and particularly the refusal of the House speaker Paul Ryan to endorse him, Mr Obama was circumspect, saying he’d leave it up to the Republicans to figure out how to “square their circle”. But he conceded: “There is no doubt that there is a debate that's taking place inside the Republican Party about who they are and what they represent.”

But he seemed to betray confidence that ordinary Republicans, in the end, would see through the billionaire businessman and former reality TV host.

“Voters are going to have to take a decision if this is the guy that speaks for them and represents their values,” he said. “Republican women voters are going to have to decide if that is the I feel comfortable with in representing me and what I care about.”

Already Mr Trump is struggling to bring the Republican Party behind him, with several key figures declaring they are unable to offer their support, including two former Republican presidents - George H.W. Bush and his son, George W. Bush - and the 2012 nominee of the party, Mitt Romney, who has said he will now stay away from the party’s July convention

How much these defections - and Mr Ryan’s reluctance to embrace him - will harm Mr Trump is hard to calculate. He managed to corral so much support during the primary races in part because voters are entirely disgusted with the party establishment and the leaders in Washington, of whom Mr Ryan is clearly one.

Attacks from Mr Obama, meanwhile, are likely to be worn by Mr Trump as a badge of honour.

Mr Obama had come to the press room in the first place to herald a new tax rule unveiled by the US Treasury on Friday that will force banks and investment houses to reveal and report the real owners of companies they serve, in a bid to stop the setting up of shell companies of the purpose of tax evasion or fraud.

“These actions are going to make a difference,“ Mr Obama said, adding that they would help the US authorities to make people are ”paying the taxes they owe rather than using shell corporations and offshore accounts to avoid doing the things that ordinary Americans are doing every day.”

However, he surely will have known in advance that when it came to questions from reporters, the drama surrounding Mr Trump and the ructions in the Republican Party would be the topic of most interest.

Trump slams Ryan: I didn’t inherit GOP, I won it!

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on Friday continued to criticize Rep. Paul Ryan, denying the Speaker’s assertion that he “inherited” the Republican Party mantle.

“Paul Ryan said that I inherited something very special, the Republican Party,” Trump tweeted. “Wrong, I didn't inherit it, I won it with millions of voters!”
