The guy is going to want 5-years, $80 million.

For a player that has flashed that ability for only one year (his contract year) out of 5, I don't do that ever. Don't care how attached he is to the locker room.

The only debate is whether you think you can tag-and-trade, or if he is worth the 1-year, $16 million tag/cap hit for keeping him hungry and hopefully getting the same production. For a team that could use depth and use $5-10 million in cap space to fill in some holes and prepare for the inevitable injuries, I say no.
