Ummmm...6 practices an Aaron Smith does not make. I hate these comparisons, personally. Let him be him.im excited to see what he does as the season progresses and gets more and more comfortable in the defense.

Glad there is positive words for the kid. I know, what the hell else are they going to say? Still, I take it. Lets hope he is starting by year two, or SOONER.

Salute the nation

I was thinking similar things when I saw the kids highlights or some video of him. I was thinking I hope this guy is the next Aaron Smith because he was the most important link in our line. Hampton went out he got replaced and the team just kept going and did not miss a beat. Smith is out and the defense declines. He was truly an outstanding player in our defense and made the rest of the team better.

I thought he was fat, lazy and out of shape. SN told me so.

Tuitt was great in 2012, a very athletic 2 gap DE. In 2013 he was too heavy and not as good. If he goes back to his 2012 weight then the Steelers have 2 very athletic DEs.

Tuitt was good in the NC game vs Bama. Nix was good in that game too. It wasn't the Notre Dame DL that was the problem in that game.

Here's a video of Nix vs Bama. You can watch Tuitt on each play. Tuitt is #7 and they switched him between LE and RE, so look for the single digit guy next to NIx on each play and that's Tuitt.

On a side note, people wondered why Barrett Jones fell in the draft. Nix destroyed him.

Me too...It's a little early to start them comparison things, he hasn't even put pads on yet. I want to see him next to Heyward, McLendon and Thomas...then we'll know how he is progressing.

if he can end up between Richard Seymour or Ty Warren when the pats had a solid 3-4 front 3 I'll take it, Aaron Smith type DE's come once every 10 years.
