Using Draft Tek's mock draft, create one for the Steelers. While I do not think the site is very good, they have a full mock draft.

Rules: No trades, you can only pick who's left in the given round.

https://www.drafttek.com/2019-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp

1 ) ILB Bush. I think he'll be a solid NFL player, but I have some reservations about his ability to shed blocks and match up with taller TE's in pass coverage. I wish Metcalf or Williams fell to us, but this matches value and need. Team speed is upgraded in the middle.

2 ) CB Baker. Yes, they think he'll go late in round two. I'll take him. A competitive guy, with a solid all-around game. I think he'll make a fine #2 starting corner.

3A ) WR Campbell. And just like that, we have a speed WR to mix in the offense. Ben is the best deep thrower in the game. He makes Wallace and Bryant types, but Campbell I think is a bit more diverse than Wallace was.

3B ) DL Buggs. He played very well in the senior bowl week. More than the sum of his parts, and capable of generating a pass rush in our 4 man packages on 3rd down. A big framed man, he has room to add weight.

4 ) ILB Burr-Kirven. Ultra-productive, his combine opened some eyes. Williams and Bostic days should be numbered.

5 ) WR Hart. Nearly uncoverable at the senior bowl. Very quick and fast, and just 5'8" tall. Extremely competitive. Okay, maybe a nice slot WR, gimmick RB and return man.

6A ) FS/CB I Johnson. A tall speedy DB, with ball skills. Some work is needed but he has stuff you can't coach. Another steal.

6B ) K Cole Tracy. Probably the best all-around kicker in the draft. Boswell is overpaid with zero confidence.

6C ) P Mitch Wishnowsky. He'll take Berry's job, and give the team better hang time and distance.

7 ) OLB Miller. A former 5-star recruit, he flashed ability at Alabama. Injuries held him back a bit.

To be realistic to what the Steelers/Colbert may do, considering we just brought in a CB and LB...

1. N'Keal Harry/AJ Brown/Hakeem Butler should be the pick, even with Devin Bush sitting there.
However, since we had a huge presence at MIchigan's pro-day...

Devin Bush.

2. Deebo Samuel, WR (BPA and fits a need)

3A. Terrill Hanks, OLB. We flirted with bringing in Justin Houston (and still may?). Bud's likely on his way out as it is.

3B, Chase Winovich, OLB. Obvious presence at Michigan pro-day...

4. David Sills, WR

5. Olive Sagapolu, DT

6A. Gary Jennings, WR

6B. Saivion Smith, CB

6C. Isaiah Johnson Jr., CB

7. Cole Tracy, K

Hanks can hit, but he ran a 4.98 at the combine. He and Tre Lamar are IMO too slow to drafted in rounds 1-3.

I like Samuel, but he's sort of similar to Ju-ju. The Steelers need a speed WR to lose up the coverage, and take their shots. Ben can make a speed WR great as long as he can catch it and doesn't keep getting hurt ( Coates )

The biggest problems with your drafts is that one of the biggest holes Steelers have is a #2 TE and you don't pick one.

Back up tight end is not a hard hole to plug.

Steelers ran 2 TE sets about 20% of their offensive plays last season.

https://www.sharpfootballstats.com/personnel-grouping-frequency.html

So it is a lot more than a "backup" tight end - it's getting a player on the field for about 1/5 of the snaps, including a ton of goal-to-go. Also, Vance is pretty darn good ... but suppose he needs a play off, or misses a game?

The 2nd TE is therefore not a luxury; it is an important part of the regular offense.

G2G we could use eligible receiver T as the 2nd TE.

I don't, really, understand the grimble contract. I guess that Jesse was offered too much for us to pay him. But he played more snaps than mcd last year. Mcd is the better TE, but not if he cant get on the field.

Not much to grab in the FA heap.

1 ILB Bush
2 CB Baker
3 WR Campball
3 TE Fant
4 OLB Hollins
5 DT Huggins
6 RB Higdon
6 K Blankenship
7 P Bailey

The Steelers can always use an extra tackle or Grimble, who outside of one bad fumble has been pretty good when called upon. Don't forget Samules can play some tight end too.

Back up TE is not a primar need. I'd rather go BPA at CB, S, Edge, or ILB.

What am I missing? I’m trying to join the fun but I only see their mocks and rankings through the link.

Feast on this...

20 Devin Bush Jr., LB Michigan

52 Irv Smith Jr., TE Alabama

66 Riley Ridley, WR Georgia

83 Damien Harris, RB Alabama

122 Kris Boyd, CB Texas

141 Isaiah Buggs, IDL Alabama

175 Travis Fulgham, WR Old Dominion

192 Isaiah Prince, OT Ohio State

207 Austin Bryant, EDGE Clemson

219 D'Cota Dixon, S Wisconsin

1 ILB Bush
2 CB Baker
3 WR Campball
3 TE Fant
4 OLB Hollins
5 DT Huggins
6 RB Higdon
6 K Blankenship
7 P Bailey

Are there 2 TEs named Fant?

That's 4 potential first rounders there LOL would be a dream though!

It's proven by the Cheats and other teams that having 2 prime TEs can be a huge advantage in both the passing and running game. If there is one ranked higher than the best available WR, I'd go for it.

Per a steelers depot article James played 50.4% of the offensive snaps and McDonald 54.7%. They were more like co-starters.
That ratio is probably why McDonald was able to stay healthy for the first time. Put McDonald out there full-time and you soon will
have Grimble as your starter when McDonald goes down. A second tight end plays a big role in the Steelers offense. It's preferable to
have a good one.
