Violence Erupts at Donald Trump Rally in St. Louis; Rally in Chicago Is Canceled

Look, I am all but certain what happened yesterday was the typical "staged conflict to demonize something" that the establishment uses all the time, but you have to admit that trump totally left the door open for that. His comments on protesters were a total faux paus and gave his opposition something to attack... One of my concerns about him is that his lack of tact might cause openings for conflicts this country doesn't need, and his overaggressive responses to that will not play as well as some think.

The actions last night showed a lot of things... that this country is chalk full of angry, agitated people who are going to lash out regardless... who knows, maybe Trump is a healthy outlet for them. But he cannot keep advocating protester violence or the establishment is going to force more riots....

Proffesional protesters are not 'the people" there nothing more than thugs causing problems. If you don't like Trump support your candidate. Don't infringe on the rights of others.

Ha ha, Trump caught lying again. That's all he does is lie. At least he's consistent.

Police say they didn't advise Trump to cancel rally: report
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/272760-police-say-they-didnt-advise-trump-to-cancel-rally-ap

A Chicago Police Department spokesman told The Associated Press that the police did not suggest Donald Trump cancel his Friday night rally, contrary to what Trump has said in interviews.

CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the AP that the department did not recommend Trump call off the event and said they had sufficent manpower to cover the rally. Guglielmi said that the decision to shut down the event was made "independently" by the Trump campaign.

That runs contrary to what Trump has said in interviews since massive protests engulfed his event and supporters clashed with demonstrators after the cancellation announcement.

"I spoke with law enforcement and made [the call to cancel] in conjuction with law enforcement, and I think we made a wise decision," Trump said in a phone interview on MSNBC.

"I think we were given credit" for putting off the event, Trump said.

Huge crowds of protesters and Trump fans clashed in the streets and in the University of Illinois venue Friday, the culmination of a week of Trump events marked by violence.

And if he didn't cancel it you would be bitching about that. Damned if you do damned if you don't. The smell of sweet desperation by the left. This will get even more people out to vote for Trump. Thanks for the free publicity.

Weeks, if not months ago, Trump should have made it perfectly clear that no type of violence would be tolerated at his rallies. Freedom of speech allows for civilized protest in our country. Trump had his henchmen drag away silent protestors way before the more unruly types started showing up.

Tibs, you are just wrong here. No "silent" protester has been removed from a Trump rally - only the protesters yelling, screaming, blowing whistles, etc.

Further, the left has disrupted dozens of events - Reagan rallies, H.W. Bush rallies, W. Bush rallies, now Trump rallies, speeches by Condeleeza Rice, and Ben Shapiro, and Stephen Harper, and on and on - featuring "conservatives." The left believes it their right to interfere with public debate, and speech, including private events that involve no taxpayer money at all.

And they have been allowed to do so.

When is the last time that a liberal had his or her speech disrupted by a conservative protester? Or the last time that a conservative mob prevented an event from taking place? Yep. pretty much never.

So would you think it appropriate for a small group - it takes no more than 25 people - to prevent liberals from having a conference, or speech, or meeting? Would you support a social media barrage from the Tea Party saying, "Let's disrupt a Bernie rally, and prevent it from happening"?

Would you?

Because that is what is going on with your ideological brethren. They are afraid of the vote and are thereby trying to shout down the debate. That is not free speech, my man, it is the exact opposite.

In fact, the tactic of disrupting the opposition's rallies has a not-so-proud history you may want to reference:

"The Sturmabteilung played a significant role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. Their primary purposes were providing protection for Nazi rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing parties, ..."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmabteilung

In September 1921, Hitler was sent to prison for three months for being part of a mob who beat up a rival politician. When Hitler was released, he formed his own private army called Sturm Abteilung (Storm Section). The SA (also known as stormtroopers or brownshirts) were instructed to disrupt the meetings of political opponents

http://spartacus-educational.com/GERnazi.htm

Those are the inspiration for the present-day tactic of having a noisy horde disrupt Trump rallies, Tibs.

And if he didn't cancel it you would be bitching about that. Damned if you do damned if you don't.
Well that went right over your head. Being a Trumpster, no surprises there. He told multiple media outlets last night that the police advised him to cancel the rally. I watched him say it live, he then repeated it like 10x during the evening. The fact is, it's not true. He just lied, point blank. Like he's done over and over. Not that there's anything wrong with that. In fact, for your ilk dishonesty is probably a redeeming quality for a presidential candidate.

DBS1970, you and others are living in a fantasy world.

Watching the hate spread—Trump supporters taunt protesters outside rally, teeter on violence
http://www.dailykos.com/stories/201...t-protesters-outside-rally-teeter-on-violence

The hatred among Donald Trump supporters seems to only be increasing, despite increasingly negative coverage of the violent repercussions of Trump’s dangerous rhetoric. As supporters wait to get into a Trump rally in St. Louis today, police began putting a fence between protesters and Trump supporters. That prompted the crowd—which appears to be largely white males—to loudly chant “Build that wall!”

Watch as they taunt protesters:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Police putting up barricades between Donald Trump supporters and protesters. Crowd chants: "Build that wall." <a href="https://t.co/PQS7tjzDBb">pic.twitter.com/PQS7tjzDBb</a></p>— Nicholas J.C. Pistor (@nickpistor) <a href="https://twitter.com/nickpistor/status/708310785525551104">March 11, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The security barricades became necessary as the situation began to get out of control. Before the barricades were in place, one young, white protester took off his coat, screaming at protesters and seemingly offering to fistfight them all:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Scene right now at Donald Trump rally. <a href="https://t.co/PUI4StRrUb">pic.twitter.com/PUI4StRrUb</a></p>— Nicholas J.C. <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

And here is he is challenging all the “*************” to fight:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Battle lines drawn at Trump rally <a href="https://t.co/Y9yRTnjOAm">pic.twitter.com/Y9yRTnjOAm</a></p>— Trymaine Lee (@trymainelee) <a href="https://twitter.com/trymainelee/status/708310127430860800">March 11, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

In this video, a very angry older man can be heard calling a young female protester a *****. That encourages a group of teenage boys to start screaming in her face that she’s a “******* *****”:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Racist are HERE <a href="https://t.co/a1ns0Baqq0">pic.twitter.com/a1ns0Baqq0</a></p>— Search4Swag (@search4swag) <a href="https://twitter.com/search4swag/status/708332099573518338">March 11, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

And more. This is getting so, so dangerous.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">This guy though <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TrumpRally?src=hash">#TrumpRally</a> <a href="https://t.co/cfTUHfAVWu">pic.twitter.com/cfTUHfAVWu</a></p>— Marissa (@southards_3) <a href="https://twitter.com/southards_3/status/708338866105638912">March 11, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Tibs caught lying by omission again. I see you conveniently left off the video of the protester stomping the flag, spitting and yelling "**** you and your flag." How perfectly liberal of you.

Ha ha, Trump caught lying again. That's all he does is lie. At least he's consistent.

"In conjunction with." Easily construed as having spoken to and making the wise choice. Try again. I'm sure you will. Your support of fascism is telling.

Hmmm?? That's odd??

I believe I just watched a little old lady with a walker, that was at the very rear of Trumps "hanger" rally in Dayton, be removed from the area...It seemed the only reason for her removal was that she was holding up a small sign that said "Trump=Hate"..

Did anyone else notice that?

So you were there, and you know every person that worked for the PD that spoke with anybody that works for the Trump campaign absolutely didn't tell any of them that it might be a good idea to shut down things before they get worse. Give me a damn break, you are grasping at straws.

My ilk and dishonesty please, you support a guy that didn't have a job for his first 40myears of his life. He is a welfare leech like most of his supporters.. Promise free **** and you get my vote..

Sufficient manpower to cover the rally. Did you see the video did things look like they were in control. Chicago is the most vile corrupt and violent city in our country. Please you believe what anyone from that city tells you. You are really gullible. I wouldn't believe a single word that anyone from that dump said.. It was a great move by whoever decided to shut it down, really doesn't matter. They will be 20,000 at the next rally and the next rally after that. After he wins Florida it's over. Thank you Chicago for proving to the country you are nothing more than a bunch of violent animals.

Security rushes on stage to protect Trump from threat
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...-rushes-on-stage-to-protect-trump-from-threat

Secret Service agents rushed onstage and formed a ring around Donald Trump to protect him from an apparent threat during a speech in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday.

A woman could be heard screaming behind the business mogul, and Trump seemed visibly shocked during the incident.

"I was ready for him, but it's much easier if the cops do it," he said after the situation died down.

It is not clear what exactly caused the reaction from Trump and his protective detail.

The incident comes just a day after the business mogul was forced to cancel a rally in Chicago when a massive protest spilled into the arena, causing several violent confrontations between protesters and Trump supporters.

Yep looked like they were doing a great job of controlling things last night, just more liberal bullshit. Trump didn't start ****. there are millions upon millions that are sick of the way **** has gone in this country since Obama. If you're black you can say or do whatever the **** you want cause its owed to you. call white people cracker, honky, they can riot, they can beat innocent people half to death, and they can act like ******* animals, preach cop hate and killing ect. plenty of people are sick of it, sick of worrying about their kids going off to school, or if their spouse is late coming home from work. But let a white person utter the word nigger and the whole ******* country comes unglued. Well **** that enough is enough you have gotten oll the free **** you deserve, I pray trump gets elected, builds the wall and throws all of the thug animals on this side over that ************ to Mexico.

Trump!

Trump!

Trump!

Trump!

Trump!

Trump on 24/7 news coverage now!

Trump: "I was ready for em, but it's much easier when the cops do it."

hilarious

Bernie should be arrested

It appears the origin for the violence in Chicago originates from the alignment of various left wing teams: Occupy Wall Street, Anarchists, the Soros funded MoveOn.Org, **** The Police, Black Lives Matter, and organized with the campaign team of Bernie Sanders:

Oh, yes, of course, 30 protesters showed up to show their disagreement by silently standing at the rally - as if they were there to support Trump.

Yes, that is so believable. Standing silently? Get ready to be booted.

Got it.

And again Tibs, you niftily dodge my question - you would have no problem with, say, 100 conservatives showing up at a Sanders rally, and "silently" blowing whistles, yelling, insulting Sanders, etc.

Right?

[You of course can say "no problem" since you know that conservatives are not going to waste time protesting a Sanders rally - conservatives have jobs and lives.]

Addition: Note the Spike post above.

You would have no problem with Trump telling his supporters to show up at a Sanders rally to disrupt event.

Right???

Thank you. Why should I believe the cops are telling the truth? After all, this is Chicago. Why should I believe anything coming out of that city?

This, from earlier in the thread >
If protesters overstep their bounds, then event staff/security (should) remove them from the venue.

You would have no problem with Trump telling his supporters to show up at a Sanders rally to disrupt event. Right???

When you show me where Bernie Sanders said such a thing, I'll answer your question.

People For Bernie > "We are activists and organizers building a broad, effective movement for democratic change." But don't let that stop you, or Spike, from confusing the activist group with Bernie Sanders himself.

Tibs:

Why don't you post YouTube videos of conservatives gathering outside a Sanders rally, waving signs and screaming at the attendees, "racists, murderers, etc."?

Oh, there are none, right?

The funny thing is the left believes it is entitled to show up at somebody else's rally and raise hell, and not be confronted. Their **** of linking arms, blowing whistles, shutting down freeways, ******* with traffic, accosting rally-goers, etc. has gone on for decades. Now that they are facing backlash, they are shocked.

I wonder how those same people would feel if a group of 300 conservatives showed up at one of their functions, waving the American flag, signs insulting Sanders, while screaming insults. I am SURE that they would smile and welcome the protesters. Right?

You realize, don't you, that Hitler did not actually specifically tell his Sturmabteilung what to do? He knew what they were doing, approved of it, said nothing to tell them to knock it off, and let Himmler handle the direct orders.

So Hitler was not to blame for the actions of the SA in disrupting opposition rallies, right??

Tibs: Why don't you post YouTube videos of conservatives gathering outside a Sanders rally, waving signs and screaming at the attendees, "racists, murderers, etc."?
Because Bernie Sanders and his supporters aren't "racists, murderers, etc." so there would be no reason for anyone to shout that at them. ;)

Trump SLAMS Bernie in Cleveland - awesome - Arrest Bernie! Hillary for prison!

“Look over there.” says the protesters are from Bernie’s crowd. "Every five minutes one of Bernie’s people, but no so many from Hillary, not much fervor with Hillary."

Flipping the bird to Ohio - Bernie hippie scum

So Trump is not to blame for the actions of his supporters being violent fascist islamophobes, right??
Tidied that up for you a bit. You're welcome.

Actually, it would be hard to argue Trump causes his supporters to be filled with angst, hatred and bigotry. He just realized that's a faction of the populace that can get behind him, and has jumped aboard the hatewagon. In him, his supporters see the white messiah, who's going to take them to the promised land.
