VROOMM! VROOMM! NASCAR thread.

“I think the 4 (Kevin Harvick) and the 41 (Kurt Busch) were the class of the field. I thought we had a top-five car all day and then I just had the best pit crew and they kept getting me out with the lead and giving me a shot, so it’s disappointing. More so than the axle breaking, I’m just disappointed we’re leading and we know them guys are a couple laps short and we got ourselves in position really nicely and there’s a debris caution and you can’t find debris anywhere "

Silly, there was a "debris caution" because Kurt Busch was in the lead and NASCAR didn't want him winning right after he comes back from being suspended.

I have no problem with Harvick.

I think NASCAR shot themselves in the foot trying to spread their popularity. They took a race away from the classic Darlington and totally did away with North Wilkesboro and added races to ****** tracks like Phoenix and New Hampshire, that are both part of the chase. I'd much rather see Darlington and Martinsville and/or Richmond be part of the chase.

Pretty interesting article and some good but sad photo's of North Wilkesboro speedway..

One thing I think NASCAR has to do is fix the problem of having 3 cautions in the last 10 laps of every race. More spoiler, bigger and/or stickier tires, whatever, but this **** is getting old. The rest of the race takes maybe 3 1/2 hours, then the last 10 laps takes a 1/2 hour.

Heck that was one of the track where a Green-White-Checker is quite exciting. Now Pocono and Michigan are tracks where NASCAR needs to pick it up. Sunday should prove to be a fun race to watch.

If it's seeming to long for you, DVR it and watch it at 2X or even faster.

DVR it and watch it at 2X or even faster.

I've been doing this for a decade to edit out commercials - it's the only way - in fact I do it for everything, football included - I refuse to watch even 1 commercial

call me a fast forward rebel

I know they had a rain delay but damn Bristol sure is empty today. Everybody still playing in the mud at Farmer Bob's Campground I guess. Been there. Redneck party central.

Joonyer!!!
And they managed to finish a race with no caution flags in the last 10 laps.

That had to be the most boring Dega race I've seen in a long time. The last 30 laps they ran single file. No 3 wide that used to make that.track exciting. He'll, they didn't even go 2 wide. I've been watching this.sport for more than 30 years and Its gotten extremely dull. Its become what everyone says about.it, cars just go I g around in circles. I'm done with watching this anymore. He'll, golf is more exciting.

I was back and forth doing other stuff, final project for school, and putting the battery in my jetski.

yeah that was about the crappiest Talledega I've seen in a long time.

nobody with the balls to race, content to run nose to tail till the end

Matt: "What a bunch of sissies… let's not try to pass anybody."

I think the new spoiler ruins the restrictor plate tracks...JMO.

The last 45 laps should have been MUCH MORE INTERESTING had more cars tried to jump down and join Stewart, Kennseth, Keslowski and Gordon...

Harv did ok even though he crushed his nose in the big wreck early in the race...

Got my tickets for Charlotte on Memorial Day. Be on the roof of my bud's RV inside Turn 4. Lots of beer, cigars, moonshine from the locals, and the smoker full of pork and pork by-products never stops.

Outta here tonight. Got beer, Junior Johnson moonshine, cigars, pork and pork by-products. ZZ Top is the pre-race band. Will be thoroughly polluted the next several days so keep that in context when I post.

Today's race is one they should absolutely do away with. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind road courses, but this track (Sonoma) SUCKS. Take this one away and let them race at The Glen twice. I love that track.

Agree, Sonoma is a sucky track. My wife's sister, brother, and his wife have been at the sporty car races at Watkins Glen and getting rained on since Thursday.

I'll be counting flags

NASCAR chairman wants Confederate flag eliminated at races

SONOMA, Calif. (AP) — Calling the Confederate flag an “insensitive symbol” he personally finds offensive, NASCAR chairman Brian France said the sport will be aggressive in disassociating the symbol from its events.

“We want to go as far as we can to eliminate the presence of that flag,” France told The Associated Press

New sport. Spot a rebel flag, drink a shot.

Daytona next week should be a good drunk.

JFC it's taking an hour to run the last 16 laps.

Good job by Kyle there at the end to pass Jimmuh and get the win.

don't see somebody lose an axle every day, ha

i

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I was happy for Kyle yesterday. He might be a jerk but he's a hard working jerk. Wonder what kind of violations they'll find on the 48 car this week........

Watching the Brickyard 400. I think two things.
1. A mess of empty seats so we may go next year.
2. With the new aero package the cars look like short track modifieds. My dad's Fusion doesn't look anything like that.

What can you say, Kyle is on a mission. JGR is putting them up front.
