Watt trade Nonsense

He's 6'1" 216 lbs. As long as we're not talking kyler murray-esque height, then he's fine. And 20%?? Yeah, I think you're definitely selling him way too short.
Selling him way too Bryce eh

I wouldn’t considered trading him for the number 1 pick and take a complete crap shoot on Caleb, maybe a proven commodity like Mahomes.

And ya know Deuce ain’t forking over #1 pick bonus money on a kid that wants a percent of ownership of the team as well

Gotta love the offseason and the hypothetical never would happen trade scenarios tho…way better than a player on a DUI rampage through downtown at a 100 mph carrying a gun and or drugs taboot

Man this is going to be a long off season

I'm not sold on Caleb either. The guy wears nail polish and he sobbed in his mother's arms after a 3rd loss of the season. His talent is off the chart but I don't know if he's mentally tough enough to play QB in the NFL.

That guy has so many red flags. We've seen plenty of good or great quarterbacks at the college level completely wash out in the NFL.

The only guy that really impressed me from this last draft was CJ Stroud. He could be a one hit wonder too, but he really looks like the real deal

^^^THIS^^^

Mental Midget could be used to describe said cry-baby. Obviously he has a little “brain” power.

College is better suited for the adolescence, the NFL is GROWN men who don’t give a ***** about small people. MEN who are paid very big money to exploit & demise the weak, including adolescent cry babies.

The parents of this kid didn’t do him any favors. Add in the out of control coddling and you may have big problems.

I think the best QB in this draft is NC Drake Maye who has great size at 6’4” and very productive in college.
That’s the next franchise QB imo and I’d be taking him number one if the Steelers had that pick.
Would I trade TJ for that number one to draft Drake, yes but I’d have to have more in return.
I’d want their number 9 pick and second round pick this year as well.
I’d hate to see TJ go but I have to realize we’ve won nothing with him and he will be 30 in October and this is when his trade value is at its peak.
You don’t win SBs with edge rushers but you do with franchise QBs,
TJ is by far the best defensive player in the league and it would hurt to see him in another jersey but if it means getting Drake Maye and more premium picks, I’m doing it.

I’d argue we’ve won nothing without TJ Steelhurt

What’s the record 1-11???
I’ve blocked the statistic it’s so bad

But also true that we’ve won nothing with him, but sure have lost a lot more without him.

Drake goes on streaks of being quite average. I’m sure he’ll go top 5 but no guarantee he’s the real deal either

Watt is the real deal and one of the few reasons to watch it his team

It would be HARD to give up TJ WATT, not quite a Joe GREEN BUT MAYBE A Jack Lambert value.

NOT comparing these guys but just putting it in perspective.

Yeah Stroud might be great. He probably breaks the OSU tradition of crappy NFL QBs ...

I think the reason we don’t win without TJ is due to poor QB play number one and number two, just the defensive scheme Tomlin employs. They’re outdated and an equated. Perfect example is that stupid two man rush. Tomlin only knows what he knows defensively and it’s badly outdated.
We should be able to lose TJ and still win since one guy shouldn’t be the only reason we win.

The fact holding is only sporadically called on edge rushers and even less in the playoffs is a big concern when you live and die by the rush.

The Chiefs have played in 3 Superbowls with ZERO holding penalties called on them.

I saw a **** ton of holding in the superbowl not called.

You'd better have a good offense and some badass corners if this trend of slanted toward offense rule application continues.

Which I think is complete horseshit.

I think the two man DL places to much stress/pressure on those guys as well

I can’t help but believe the durability of said linemen is diminished by facing all those double teams

Imo we need either a Return of the Snack
Or move to a 4 man front
I don’t think all the 2DL is the answer
I’m right there with ya

Scheme is not sound and we definitely should be able to win when Watt is out

Sadly that has not proven to be case and I don’t see Shades learning (or going anywhere) anytime soon

I think this goes back to the original post and that is no one is trading a top QB for Watt. it much really to discuss unless we changed the narrative of the return to multiple high draft picks. Even then, it’s not how this team operates.

The evidence indicates otherwise.
There is no player or group of players/draft picks you could trade TJ for that would make up for the wins he gets you.
If you did, it would only be for a tank job to get better draft picks to help down the road.
Speaking of, once Mason leaves there will be no one left from the 2018 draft.

Stroud looked great his rookie year, but it was one season. All signs point to him being great, but we will see what happens once teams get tape on him. I would not trade Watt for anyone currently. I think Watt could be even better with a better defensive scheme. Watt is our best most consistent player and we should be able to build around that
I wouldn’t trade Watt either. The defense is completely different without him out of the lineup. He impacts that side of the ball bigly

What is exactly our defense with him? Either way, if we would trade him or don't....Tomlin is still here so I don't think it would matter anyways.
