We are being badly misled about the Ukraine-Russia war

Well it looks like Trump finally got a clue, enlightened ..whatever.
Changing his tune. Upset at Putin.

Sending more sophisticated defensive weapons to Ukraine.
Putin has 50 days to come to terms with peace or sanctions begin.

Putin has no more interest in peace than Hamas does with Israel.

Russia/Putin is who we conservatives for decades always thought they were,.... conniving, deceitful and not to be trusted.

It’s a shame we’ve flipped flopped to became Putins cheerleaders.


 
It will take a while ( 6 months, maybe a year) before the pain of sanction may bother Vlad. In the meantime he will fight on. He kills innocent people. Very evil.
 
I thought sanctions have been in place since the Potato Regime.

You understand the snctions mean nothing to Russia because they are still selling all the natural resources and oil they produce to Europe right?
 
Update on the impending Ukrainian victory over a vastly larger and better-supplied Russian army. Russia is about to capture a pretty major city, Pokrovsk. The city is part of the Northern Donetsk campaign and is an important supply junction and railroad hub for supplying the Ukrainian army.

Russian forces reached the city in 2024 and are now fighting inside the city itself. A video from January of 2025 shows an incredible amount of armored vehicles destroyed on a road to Pokrovsk, and Ukrainian generals have abandoned the city ahead of the Russian advance.

Ukraine simply does not have the manpower to put up a legitimate fight.

And remember the Russians would not be there if we had not pushed NATO farther and farther eastward. Ukraine joining NATO would be just as much a provocation to war to the Russians as the Russians putting missiles in Cuba was 60 years ago was to us.

In one of the greatest self-owns in recent history, Vladimir Putin's belligerent invasion of Ukraine prompted Sweden and Finland's NATO membership, which resulted in NATO doubling the alliance's border with Russia.

Did the US participate in any coup changing political leadership in either Sweden or Finland?

Did either of the Finish or Swedish governments take actions, including violence, against the Russian speaking minorities within their borders?

And in response to your point, I mean it's not like the United States actually ran a coup of the elected government of Ukraine in 2014 to install a series of corrupt puppets, noooooo, not at all! And it's not as if the current leader of Ukraine has literally zero claim to legitimate power and is in office solely due to canceling the election and arresting his political opponents, noooooo.

Zelensky is a much shorter, bearded version of everything the left claims Donald Trump is.

No.

Putin gives a mad fizuck about Sweden and Finland joining NATO because they are a nonfactor in defending Russia but Ukraine is. Putin was never going to invade the rest of Europe and would not have invaded if we had kept NATO no farther than Germany.

Timeline:
2005: After a democratic election in Ukraine, President GWB overthrew the democratically elected candidate of Ukraine. The people of Eastern Ukraine objected. Who wouldn’t object to seeing their candidate overthrown? That candidate elected was from Eastern Ukraine. His name is Viktor Yanukovych:
He was the Prime Minister at the time.
This is known as the Orange Revolution, which goes along with the Color Revolutions which we (USA) perfected.
2010: Viktor Yanukovych was elected as President again and this time, the West allowed it. By 2013 Ukraine was faced with the government having a significant budget shortfall due to lower-than-expected real GDP growth and inflation, as well as increased social spending.
2013: The EU offered Ukraine an economic package of 600 million euros to woo them to our side. The agreement, which included a deep and comprehensive free-trade agreement (DCFTA), was meant to strengthen ties between Ukraine and the EU. It was to bring Ukraine to our side without another coup or war.
In November 2013, Ukraine, under then-President Viktor Yanukovych, suspended talks on a trade and association agreement with the European Union likely as negotiations with Russia were underway. This decision was seen as a victory for Russia. Russia then offered Ukraine a 15 billion euro package in December 2013 which if you can use logic, 15 billion is better than 600 million EU deal.
The EU and Obama panicked and in 2014 launched the Euromaidan Revolution, they didnt add a color in the name as that would be obvious who was behind it. This was to overthrow the democratically elected government of Ukraine.
The east and south — who voted Yanukovych in — rejected the legitimacy of the new regime.
• That’s why Crimea flipped almost overnight to Russia, and Donetsk/Luhansk erupted into separatism. However Crimea holds Russia’s largest military naval base since the 1700s which gives them a stronghold of the Black Sea and projects power into the Mediterranean and Middle East. Ukraine essentially gave Russia control of Crimea after the fall of the USSR.
• In their eyes, their democratically elected president was ousted by a Western-backed street revolt which we know and invented as a “Color Revolution”- exactly the tactics democrats used with the George Floyd riots for many months to cause instability in the US.
Imagine if our country was overthrown. Would you object? The east and south of Ukraine did.
Worse, Obama used neo-nazis to overthrow Ukraine. Which of course caused even greater fear to the majority of Ukraine. I say the majority because the majority elected Yanukovych to begin with- twice.
Following the coup, Obama and the EU knew the East and South were not going to accept their takeover based on seeing how they objected following the U.S.’s 2005 coup and Yanukovych elected in 2010 despite him being tossed in 2005.
So they sent the neo-Nazis to oust the people in the South and East. Over the next 8 years over 10,000 people were eliminated. Subsequently the South and East got tired of their people being eliminated (who wouldn’t) and leaning on their voted on referendum to separate from Ukraine after the coup, they asked Putin for help.
When Biden was elected the people of Eastern and Southern Ukraine knew what was coming. Full war to oust them. Biden would continue what Obama started. The massive increased funding and weapons were clear signs to any analyst. Prior to Russia invading from the North, once elected, Biden had pushed over 500 million in war materials & cash into Ukraine which was a sign to Russia that the US was going to escalate the war. You don’t push 60 million dollars of Javelin missiles- anti-tank rounds into an area for target practice. But fake news and politicians won’t tell you this.
• Ukraine requested larger SAM systems (like Patriots and NASAMS) in 2021.
• While Biden did not greenlight full deliveries before the invasion, discussions leaked in late 2021 that these were under consideration.
• For Moscow, the very talk of U.S. Patriots in Ukraine was unacceptable, because Patriots could intercept Russian aircraft or even missiles over Russian airspace.
Beyond Javelins, there were confirmed movements (Stingers, NLAWs) and credible discussions (Patriots, coastal defense missiles) before February 2022. Russia interpreted these as preparations for war — not defensive aid — and felt threatened as the U.S. had knowingly already crossed Moscow’s “red lines.”
Who started the war?
Prior to Russia invading the propaganda from our fake news and the EU’s fake news launched their full scale attack. They prepped the battlefield within those with weak minds. They claimed Russia wanted to unite the USSR and take over all of Europe. But you have to know how to sift through their BS. Ukraine is roughly the size of Afghanistan. We never fully controlled all of Afghanistan. We held population centers and inbetween Salsa night or line dancing night in our major bases or filling our faces with Burger King or Starbucks, we drove or flew into areas to get into TICs with the locals, rarely holding more ground, especially after Obumma took over. In the end, Biden surrendered to a bunch of goat humpers. I digress. The fact is Russia never mobilized enough troops to take over all of Ukraine let alone all of Europe.
Putin’s initial plan was to come in from the North and force Zelensky to negotiate and end the attacks in Eastern Ukraine. It worked. Talks were productive. But England, likely under the influence of Biden/Obama, met with Zelensky and ordered him to stop negotiating. Therefore Putin pulled out from the North and moved to the East. They held a defensive line throughout the war until Biden lost the election and it’s likely Zelensky didn’t know what to do. Russia took advantage of that and gained territory. Ukraine’s losses are likely well over 500,000 men lost. Staggering. If we lost that many men, people would crap their pants. Basically their military is destroyed. Between dead and wounded. There isn’t much left.
Here’s the thing, there never was a plan to win in Ukraine. Never! How do we know? Our own intel agencies said Russia would use tactical nukes before losing this war. That is how significant especially Crimea is to Russia. Therefore if Russia doesn’t give up Crimea, this war can never end under Zelensky’s mind. Which, he isn’t the one calling that shot. When Zelensky injects himself into negotiations, he is doing so on behalf & under orders of the deep state and EU.
Therefore, Zelensky demanding Russia give up the land is moot because they are not going to do it and Zelensky knows this.
Zelensky needs the war to continue for his own survival. Once the people of Ukraine who as the majority do not side with the West, once the war is over they will oust Zelensky, he will face tribunals and most certain execution for his part in destroying Ukraine and the laundering of hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars- America’s dollars.
Overall, Obama, Biden and democrats and their fake news completely lied about Ukraine. All of it. It’s why they tried to impeach Trump during his first term as he was digging into Ukraine and what Dems were doing there. But republicans are also to blame. Either they know all of this and kept voting for the money to be sent- likely some were getting paid for their vote. Or some republican politicians have no clue what transpired.
Either way, Trump is left with negotiating a failed corrupt campaign by Obama/Biden/Democrats/Fake news to try and recoup what we can without losing entire face to the entire world with another Democrat blunder, another war lost and China being the ultimate winner.

No doubt the people in Eastern Ukraine would object to Yanukovych’ departure.
But whats more glaring is that he was not ousted in 2005, he lost the damn election.

Eastern Ukraine is heavily populated with ethnic Russians due to the country being under Soviet rule for decades.

Yanukovych who was born in Eastern Ukraine is not an ethnic Ukrainian, he is Russian.
A Russian sympathizer who didn’t learn to speak Ukrainian until later in life.

I’m sure real Ukrainians said good riddance to one of Ukraines worst presidents.

We’ve been led to believe that Zelenskyy owns a multimillion dollar home in Florida or has interests in off shore drilling.

A myth as is the myth that the US orchestrated the overthrow of Yanukovych.

It is quite possible that most of the politicians in Ukraine are corrupt and have been for some time, and that the US gov't actively enabled regime change.

And who gives a **** if the Ukranian people elected a Russian speaker--that was their democratic right, even if it was stupid.

Remember the hot mic episode with Obama saying he'd have more flexibility or something along those lines after the 2012 election. If memory serves he was talking to Medvedev. I wonder if the flexibility involved Ukraine. Some shady **** went down, no doubt about it. Then we had Biden openly talking about leveraging Ukrainian officials. Hopefully another episode of US meddling with the intent of making the elites huge sums of money while lowering the population comes to an end soon.
